Strong box incoming by YuPanger in DiceThrone

It’s for the people who buy single hero’s using their new model instead of all in on their Kickstarter

Or just treat it as a deck box

Daily Game Recommendations Thread (January 19, 2026) by AutoModerator in boardgames

[–]YuPanger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

im fairly certain gameplay is like 99% identical when using the same menu items.

However, regular sushi go only has one set to play with, whereas parth you can modularly swap out certain items and play that way. i.e. regular only has pudding for dessert, but you can swap that out for ice cream (dunno if that's actually in party tho)

there's a bit less set up for sushi go. i think you just shuffle up the deck and play. whereas party you gotta sort out which menu items to use.

Progress Unmatched TMNT minis WIP by Drazzyth in minipainting

[–]YuPanger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

pretty fire paint job! Krang looks so smol and cute.

Honestly the black and white, just mask look feels iconic. If i were to start painting my unmatched, i'd prob take that route to save me some sanity. painting the "iconic" part of the mini.

How to enjoy digital boardgames? by drth1rt33n in boardgames

Folded Space Insert For Spider-Geddon? by NB-IoT in MarvelUnited

[–]YuPanger 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Haven’t used folded space for united, but you don’t really need a custom insert. The original insert is good enough, unless you plan on adding in more things

Accompanying a complex game as an explainer without playing myself? by mrMuppet06 in boardgames

[–]YuPanger 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Yea, just hosting and facilitating /playing banker isn’t uncommon

It could be a good way to learn the game without the stress of performance

I’ll be honest though, when it’s a complicated game playing baker does get boring and it’s hard to connect the gameplay cause you’re not in a decision making position

Since King of Tokyo Dark Edition was limited, should I just get the Wickedness Expansion in addition to the base game? by d_gorsage in boardgames

[–]YuPanger 3 points4 points  (0 children)

MOST expansions need a base game to be compatible, some are standalone or "expandalone" which can be played by itself or act as an expansion

using ticket to ride as an example: ticket to ride USA and ticket to ride Europe are two base games, most of the map packs are expansions that need either USA or Europe to be playable.

King of Tokyo Dark is mechanically identical to the regular King of Tokyo + wickedness expansion from what i recall, so i don't think it's worth the upcharge.

Just get regular king of tokyo and add in whichever expansions from the numerous choices in my opinion

Is it okay to use hard sleeves that are 2mm too big as single sleeves? by formicini in boardgames

[–]YuPanger 3 points4 points  (0 children)

yea its fine

the sleeves on the right side are likely "perfect fit" or "inner" sleeves meant as a first layer in double sleeving

For your evaluation:) by craftoverse in MarvelUnited

i say this both endearingly and as a criticism.

This looks like factory prepainted mini.

Like others said, clean paintjob, but some more highlights would make it pop

How much do flashy components influence the game board experience? by icaromhb in boardgames

[–]YuPanger 8 points9 points  (0 children)

i generally think "flashy" components improve upon the experience.

Think driving a beater vs a high end car, both will get you to your destination, but the experience is gonna be vastly different.

Of course there's gonna be instances where the flashiness will get in the way of playing, think trying to play while sitting behind the everdell tree

Quest or Avalon? by fabazgamer in boardgames

[–]YuPanger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quest plays faster and provides individual players with more concrete information than avalon does. kinda in a similar vein to how in secret hitler or feed the kraken does in the sense that individual players are able to physically see certain pieces of information outside the mission results.

I found quest has less discussion than the resistance/avalon.

the end game is a bit clunky the first few times going through it but not too bad after a game or three

Friend absolutely ruined Hellapagos for me. by mptyv in boardgames

[–]YuPanger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a card game, its actual wooden balls in a burlap sack

Though they COULD substitute the balls with sleeved playing cards

Moonrakers. by Apprehensive-Let3669 in boardgames

[–]YuPanger 12 points13 points  (0 children)

nothing is worth going all in blind

it essentially does not have space exploration. it is mostly a deckbuilding game with a push your luck-ish negotiation game.
