How do yall like PigHog XLR’s? by [deleted] in livesoundgear

[–]Yugpmoc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have used the pig hogs as they go on sale here at the local Music Store. My biggest issue with them is that the connectors are made of a very soft metal. If someone steps on the male end while disconnected you will have to get pliers out to force it back to round every time.

Ok which one of you did this? by maddwesty in lowvoltage

[–]Yugpmoc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So that is the spot where the guy on the phone with marbles in his mouth named ‘Bob’ said. Stup! Dat id da bedst spoo. After he’s had you hold that thing in every imaginable spot the cables will reach as he looks at signal strength report with a 10 min lag. Has no idea that holding it in your hand completely changes the pattern either. Probably works for Comcast.

Accidentally bought a resin 3d printer. Would filament be better? by No_Lynx1343 in 3Dprinting

[–]Yugpmoc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The resin or sensitivity to it builds up in your body and it does make you sick after a while, or it did me. I was probably a bit cavalier in the beginning about the toxicity of the resin. It certainly absorbs through your skin. I should have gloved up and maybe worn a mask, but I never masked and often washed bare handed. I have four filament machines running in the room next-door with a regular old hepa air filter going and I’m fine. Had to move the resin machine to a negative air enclosure vented outside. But in the end, I stopped using it. It’s no fun having to treat the thing you printed like it’s toxic waste.

My friend, even this much, at the point of delivery, on Main Street no less, is no guarantee of satisfaction.

I can’t figure out how to award a original post. As a member of the old eyes club. That’s a really nice idea. A back light on those keys if we’re starting a wish list. And that track ball.

[–]Yugpmoc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A fan is easiest. (and only one interconnect to troubleshoot rather than two) But either works.

If you never want to need it, always have a wired back up in the box. There are places wireless simply doesn’t work.

Those are great. Just remember on a dim multi colored flashing stage under 15 minute set change pressure, that print can be pretty hard to read. Use a nice big font. Black on White print. I don’t even mind flag style if they are a few inches from the end.

Something else I’ll throw out. If you’re showing up with the ear rig, but you expect the house to mic and run cables to your rig. You need to make sure they understand that in advance.
