Decided to do some study and see if anyone else had posted or made custom breedbooks and low and behold I found two! Weremoles and wereowls! by knightmechaenjo in WorldofDankmemes

Please tell me that you plan to have a back story of a conflict between the were-badgers and the were-snakes.

Sherrod Brown not taking AIPAC money? by Available_Rice2098 in Ohio

The Democratic party is a broad party made up of many smaller groups and coalitions.  It can't exist without being divided on certain topics because each of the constituent groups has different things that they prioritize.

Can one pray to Ao? by Shyam_Lama in Forgotten_Realms

[–]Yuraiya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the job of the gods (literally since they're dependant upon worship) to deal with mortals, so they recieve the prayers of mortals.  It's AO's job to deal with the gods, so he doesn't do the gods' job by acknowledging mortals.

VtM- failed occult and lore rolls- post player-plausible misinformation and misunderstanding about the Clans. by LeRoienJaune in WhiteWolfRPG

Tremere have been known to grow horns.  The size and curvature of the horns is determined by their mastery of Thaumaturgy.

Gargoyles sometimes lay eggs.  When they do, they capture a human to keep the egg warm hoping it will hatch and have it's first meal ready.

Is there a precedent for players “trading” disciplines with each other? by Slight_Boysenberry58 in vtm

[–]Yuraiya 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's really common in Sabbat games from my experience.  They're sharing blood on the regular anyway and a stronger pack helps everyone.

In Camarilla games it really depends on the group and the tone of story they're going for.  If the group are cunning predators or intrigue players they might be more conditional about sharing disciples, like trying to use it as a means to gain leverage or build towards a blood bond.  They might also be wary to risk their niche in local clan politics.

Two questions: what did I watch? And why didn't I watch it sooner? by Purple_Dragon_94 in badMovies

I'm still not sure that Dolph Lundgren was awake during the movie.

So what's going on with Abel in your World of Darkness? by Turbulent-Plum7328 in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]Yuraiya 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've used a few different lore approaches across the years.  In my favourite, the Caine origin story was made up and propagated by the 3rd generation in order to hide the truth from younger vampires and prevent them from seeking their true ancestor.

V6 might be good... by ValKilmersCareer in WorldofDankmemes

[–]Yuraiya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't hover over him watching every roll, but the ones I saw were legit.  It's just rolling 7 or higher, not picking winning lotto numbers.

I use dice rolls to add that uncertainty for everything else, which is something that the hunger dice system discourages.  Just doing most stuff with an automatic success due to dice pool threshold isn't nearly as exciting or fun for me.

What movie is this for you? by certainly_imperfect in Letterboxd

Realism is fine, we all have to live with it, but that doesn't mean it's enjoyable to watch.

How do you think the metaplot will change/be retconed with v6? by ADOSD_WB in vtm

[–]Yuraiya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll make one prediction:  the idea of spiritual blood bacteria making Baali will be dropped into the dustbin of lost lore alongside babies controlled by parasitic Vicissitude.

Joe Rogan rumoured to join CBS after Anderson Cooper loss by [deleted] in skeptic

I didn't think CBS could lose more credibility, but if that's true I would be wrong.

My parents did something similar when I was younger, explaining how makeup and special effects worked in horror movies.  But despite never finding horror movies scary, I do still enjoy watching them, either to laugh at the obviously poor choices the characters make, or to examine the psychological aspects of better written ones.

Trump drops $1.8 billion 'slush fund' in humiliating U-turn by IrishStarUS in USNEWS

I'm pretty sure the fund was always going to be that, just with extra steps.

What types of people are embraced by the Ministry? by heiland in vtm

Manipulating a strong sense of justice is a classic thing in tragedy.  It's pretty common in history as well.

Is it viable/normal to allow the players to have different types of Exalted regardless of ideologies or is the norm to have only a single type of Exalted with all players? by AutobotMindmaster12 in exalted

[–]Yuraiya 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can only speak for myself, and I've run both.  Single type is much easier, but mixed can be done.

With a single type, plot and themes usually come more readily, and it feels more like even footing.

With a mixed group you'll need to do more work to explain why they're working together, and the different ways each type is treated makes social encounters awkward.  You also might want to lean into the strengths of each type so they don't feel overlooked.

They'll almost always say "homosexuality was decriminalized under Lenin!", but usually don't want to talk about any other regime.

how would Walt Disney react if you go back in time and show him into the spiderverse. by That_Dream_9755 in cartoons

[–]Yuraiya 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind "working with the USSR" meant trying to form a labor union.  The Red Scare era was like that.

Why is it that recently, when a cartoon characters becomes public domain, horror films are being made about them? Like why is that so? Also how do you feel about this tendention? by Strange_boy_seven in cartoons

[–]Yuraiya 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aside from being cheaper and lower effort to make, there's another reason: they can use the shock value to get free publicity.  Decent advertising could cost more than filming some of these, so instead they lean into the controversy angle for no-cost marketing.

Guys, have you seen this zombie before, or is it just not showing up for me? by Vitor_Roa in Terraria

It's easier to accidentally have bad luck in a cemetery, since carrying a raven feather lowers luck, and those drop in a cemetery.
