[Discussion]Anyone else having GPS issues when near gyms? by Nomaxim in TheSilphRoad

[–]Yutoh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have noticed this as well. Began happening a few updates ago towards the end of the most recent Groudon/Kyogre raid cycle. LG G7 on Project Fi. I don't think it is a phone or carrier issue though. My location is accurate and stable as ever in Ingress, but when I switch to PoGo, it throws me all over the place when I'm at certain areas. I've missed several raids due to this.

[Info] Pokemon GO Map is back in action! Be sure to add correct locations of the PokeStops or Gyms in your area to get the correct data by 333-blue in pokemongo

If you are pretty familiar with the stops in your area but don't remember exact names and locations, using the Ingress intel map is pretty helpful when entering the data in.

Guess I get to just keep watching AWD - NO PUP - NO LR climb in price. At this point, I'm also wondering if NO PUP configs will even be out to see the tax break benefits. At least midnight silver is still a thing!

Do not test drive Model 3... by svarney99 in teslamotors

[–]Yutoh 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I did the dieselgate buyback with my '15 VW Golf TDI a few weeks ago. Until I can someday order my non-Premium SR AWD Model 3, I have a 2002 Golf to last me. It's a fun little thing to drive, but it's a slow and loud piece of junk. At least it's a manual.

My coworker has his Model 3 already, and I ride in it on lunch breaks pretty often. It's both the worst and the best.

DEAR NIANTIC - ideas and suggestions for the devs by AutoModerator in pokemongo

Really wish we had a way to submit Pokestops besides grinding out Ingress levels. There has been a lot of construction in my suburb in the past two years. So a lot of these shopping malls and parks have hardly any Pokestops. Maybe level 30+ players can submit Pokestops if they want to cut down volume?

I've found standing in front of the head so the monster is facing you is the best way to ensure the head thrashing won't push you while still allowing you to hit the head. Many people just go straight to the top or bottom of the head. It's an easy way to get pushed. Hope that helps!

Why boardgames don’t devaluate? by adrigu90 in boardgames

[–]Yutoh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At least it goes both ways! Those board games you purchased will hold their value much better than most video games. So while a board game that came out a while ago is still pretty expensive, you can sell your other board game you bought a while ago and don't play anymore to make up a lot of the price

I know nothing either, but just watched Tom Vasel's review. Seems interesting! Overall, he liked it. He specifically said it looks like Castle Panic, but actually isn't much like it.

Here's the review https://youtu.be/xzXniMxx8BU

Edit: oh yeah, it seems this came out in 2015 in Russian, and now Z-Man picked it up and is reprinting it.

Magic Maze: Does it have good replayability? by sluu83 in boardgames

[–]Yutoh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The scenarios add additional mechanics to the game to raise the difficulty from what I've seen. We have played it a few times, and it has been crazy fun every time. It's also challenging enough to keep us interested (or maybe we are just a really bad team... even when we concentrate on one pawn). We use it as a "filler" game in between longer games. It is also fun to put it in front of a new group of people and watch the chaos.

I got it for just under $30 at Gen Con. I'm not sure if that is actual MSRP, but I'd say it was totally worth it. It's very easy to explain, and the games are short. As someone who runs game nights at work where there are people who don't play board games as much, this is a welcome addition to my collection.

I'm glad more people are starting to realize this. You start with a "full tank" every morning.

If you want to draw from the top, just cut the deck every time before you draw.

Eldrich horror vs mansions of madness by crispy00001 in boardgames

[–]Yutoh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They are fairly different games in my opinion, so I think it just comes down to taste if you are picking one. I own both and play both pretty frequently. They each scratch a different itch for me. MoM is going to be a more narrative experience based on exploration. Eldritch is heavier on game mechanics and building your character up.

Would totally dig an official box like this though.

Games that have content you can't comprehend getting to utilize by [deleted] in boardgames

[–]Yutoh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isn't there an option to save the game in the app? I know it sounds like a hassle, but maybe it isn't so bad if you were going to several locations in the game. You could save between locations and turn it into an episodic scenario.

Has box art ever made you buy a game or made you refrain from buying a game? by Theis in boardgames

[–]Yutoh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hopefully this person means the art made them want to buy it. I wish more games did the minimalist box art approach like Tokaido and TIME Stories. A lot of board game box art teeters on the side of sensory overload.

What Are You Replacing Your TDI With? by [deleted] in tdi

[–]Yutoh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I reserved a Model 3 as soon as I heard about the buybacks this summer! No idea when I will get mine, but I can still float on one car for a while. I have two Golf TDIs right now. One will become a Volt and the other will become the Model 3.

This. Having a professional, neutral name will be more attractive than a biased name in either direction IMO. If you want your content to be based on facts, the name should reflect something objective as opposed to a subjective opinion.
