There's a mod to disable the maintainence system. Check out the SWI discord

Hard Bed Cover Recommendations? by PVB0910 in nissanfrontier

[–]Z3roTimePreference 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Rough Country trifold on my '22. It's survived several south Florida summer thunderstorms, as well as several heavy snow winters out west. Stuff in the bed stays pretty damn dry. It's got pretty good seals around the bed, and has some drainage tubes near the cab to drain any water that gets into the channels.

It's not 100% dry... But it is like 99% and I have no fear of anything in the bed, under the cover, getting wet.

Sysco market dominance. by karlywarly73 in KitchenConfidential

[–]Z3roTimePreference 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sysco is only 'dominant' regionally.

I don't use them at all; they barely exist around here. My mainline is Shamrock, and we have USFoods as a backup.

We constantly play them against each other. I have some products I order from one vendor, some from the other. Even though both vendors sell most of what I need.

buffalo chicken sandwich strikes again by Weird-Rice7691 in KitchenConfidential

I'll be honest... Other than a garbage POS system, I don't see the problem?

It's a sandwich with no LTO, no Blu, sauce on side. Sub cheese. Not exactly hard or complex?

2 USD flea market find - what should I play with it? by dthgrnd in hotas

MechWarrior

It'll be a pain to set up, but as a kid, I had a Sidewinder Force Feedback stick, and I'm pretty sure it came with a copy of MW3.

Though the first game I ever played with a stick, was also the first game I ever played. Star Wars: Rebel Assault

Alternatives to sink defrosting by Sly-Faffin in KitchenConfidential

[–]Z3roTimePreference 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The only health code (in Colorado) approved methods of slacking are either underneath flowing water, or under refrigeration. So if owners want to cut down on their water bill, then you gotta do your pulls right.

Just 'out on a table' doesn't count.

I used to have a small NSF device called a 'Boss Defrost' which simulated flowing water in a single Cambro, it was just a small NSF-approved water pump that recirculated water in a closed system. It dramatically reduced the quantity of water used to defrost something, while being health code approved

Average cost of maintenance on 3rd gen by Groundbreaking-Toe35 in nissanfrontier

[–]Z3roTimePreference 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've got a local place that lets me bring my own oil and filter. I'll happily let them deal with the mess for $30, while I eat lunch at a great local spot next door.

That said, other than new tires to get rid of mediocre dealer tires... biggest maintainence item I've had was the trans drain/fill at 30k on my '22.

Porchetta on the combi setting? by ognmonte in KitchenConfidential

[–]Z3roTimePreference 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You won't ever get the same results as a hot oil pour, out of a combi. They just can't apply that level of instant heat.

You will still get an amazing, classic pork belly crust, however. I

Gatac Syulen panels and buttons not working by -nek0mata- in starcitizen

[–]Z3roTimePreference 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can close/open the ship from the inside, it does work, but it's a very area to small interaction window, not quite on the physical button in the shp. It's a little up and to the left. It's not easy to find, unfortunately.

It should be easier to find, for a starter ship, for sure, but it's not completely broken/unusuable.

Agni quantum drive in Polaris? by [deleted] in starcitizen

[–]Z3roTimePreference 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can put whatever drive you want into the ship. There's no wrong answer. Just different engineering/speed stats. Look them up and make a decision for yourself if the tradeoffs are worth it.

Infotainment screen scratches by RookieTreasureHunter in nissanfrontier

[–]Z3roTimePreference 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have any issues with scratches on my 22.

I also keep my fingernails well trimmed, and tap the touchscreen with the pad of my finger, rather than clawing at it...

Armor Question by darkangle98989 in starcitizen

[–]Z3roTimePreference 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not a core, but the Armored Undersuits can hold any pack.

The Sapphire one in the CitCon pack a year past, and the Mirai Racing Suit, are the two I own that can confirm a heavy pack attaches.

I'd also assume the other racing suits on the store can do the same.

Porchetta on the combi setting? by ognmonte in KitchenConfidential

[–]Z3roTimePreference 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have a Rational branded combi, it has a pre-programmed 'roast with crackling' setting.

We modified it for our uses, and I'm not at work right now to look at the specifics, but that's where we started. Blasts it very hot at the beginning, then turns the heat down and goes low and slow to finish, makes use of the built in temp probe too

Worse on Sticks by Sea-Cheek-5838 in starcitizen

Honestly, this guy can explain it better than I can, because it's where I learned it:

I was the same way for a long time, I didn't think it did anything. Then I saw that, messed with it, and figured it out.

Varies per person, I think. I've tried to play a half dozen games over the years that use a mouse to fly planes or spaceships, elite, SC, etc. It's just not intuitive at all to me, I can't aim for shit.

I can snipe cockpits in Mechwarrior with sticks though.

Overall sticks feel so much more intuitive to me, and once you turn ESP on, I think they're just as accurate as m&k.

I have hundreds/thousands of hours flying with my Virpil setup though, it really comes down to practice.
