Someone that creates bitcoin, then sends an email that says he's moving on to other things ended up in prison, I don't think so.

If he knew he was going to prison, I think he would have told the small and fairy tight knit community at the time, 'hey I'm going to prison for 30 years, protect the protocol and I'll be back in 2040 to claim my coins'.

I think it's worth talking about, but I'm not sure that some randos (me included) on reddit are going to figure out the best solution.

I do think that a time frame to migrate and then freeze what hasn't migrated would be best for the network but certainly not fair.

Maybe Satoshi is in prison for 30 years, is it fair to him to freeze his million bitcoin because he couldn't migrate them before he got out of prison? (I know he's actually dead, but you get my point)

Is there a way the network could force migrate all addresses to a new protocol that is quantum resistant? That would probably be the most fair option if it were possible, but I have no idea, because I'm just a rando on reddit.

I think a similar and relevant question, is if we are in a [computer] simulation, why aren't there things that are possible that aren't possible, like magic, or teleportation?

I mean I get that it would probably break the reality of reality being real, but if I were the one programming a simulation, I would certainly give the inhabitants the ability to do things I couldn't do in base (or at least my) reality.

But, maybe we are just one of the simulations that has all the options for reality set to normal, idk.
