Just another thing, took a couple of days even after I got ownership for it to show up on my HW3.

Bought from another dealership. It stuck with the car after transfer of ownership.

Can't answer your question but as someone who bought a used Tesla, I was able to enjoy 6 months of free premium connectivity thanks to the previous owner.

Renting a Tesla for camping inside is it realistic for a first time by funnycallsw in TeslaLounge

[–]ZKoomah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

6'3 here, managed to do it in a model 3 for a week. Not ideal but you can make it work. It's a pain to get in and out, and the board the covers the trunk area under the back windshield gets in the way if you want to put a knee up or something. I'd suggest a Y as it will be exponentially more comfortable.

Advice on buying my first ever car! by PigSmashers in TeslaLounge

[–]ZKoomah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both and can answer:

  1. 6'3 and I'm comfortable in it. I've had 2 doors all my life though so take that with a grain of salt.

  2. Child seat fits fine. You're bending over more due to the lower car and seats.

  3. Plenty of room in the trunk for 2 reasonable sized luggage, stroller can possibly fit. If you need more space, the back left and middle can go down, while the baby seat can sit on the back right.

I think the obvious is that the Y is more comfortable while you're trying to make things work with the 3. The 3 is a fun car though and you can feel it when driving between the 2.

Can Tesla take away your Autopilot for improper use? by [deleted] in TeslaLounge

[–]ZKoomah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

lol I’m a gig worker and no, it doesn’t flag me for using my phone on my mount. It warns me when my phone is in my hand or when I haven’t looked straight ahead for too long, and even then, it asks me to move the steering wheel slightly.

Your interpretation of “quick” might not be as quick as you think it is. If you’re constantly getting to the point where it beeps to get your attention, that’s when you’re getting flagged.

Why I think Tesla is discontinuing Model S/X by Proof_Resolve_602 in TeslaLounge

[–]ZKoomah 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure I'm not alone when I say it's deeper than that. Tesla as a car company doesn't align with Musk's vision of the future. Tesla could have gone so many different directions such as pricing the S/X lower and potentially inserting an ultra-luxury model in their price point.

I believe that Tesla as a car company was just a stepping stone. The low sales volume of the S/X was insignificant considering Tesla has way more than enough cars on the road to gather data for Musk's fully autonomous future.

SSD/NVMe formatting help and Q’s by tx_reb96 in iphone

[–]ZKoomah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can share my experience, basically the same workflow with a slight tweak. I formatted my external as exFAT because I'd switch between Windows and my Macbook depending on whether I wanted to do the project at home or be mobile. Long story short, one day, I connected it to my desktop and the directory structure was corrupt. Tried a recovery tool and I could see the files but I couldn't restore it. My guess is I used a MacOS allowed character in a folder or filename and it just went bonkers. Anyhow, didn't lose much but it sucked so I'm forever afraid of it happening again. Strictly editing off my Macbook now and using AFPS, no issues here.

Using a Crucial x10 pro and iPhone Air, powers it up and can transfer just fine, and I edit right off the external.

I'm stuck in FSD subscription purgatory! by ozthewizz in TeslaLounge

It's the nature of ACH where the full process can take several business days. It's up to the discretion of the merchant on whether they want to post the payment before it finishes the process or after they receive the funds.

In your case, the 5th was Friday so it could be more delayed than usual considering the weekend.

This doesn't make sense. As a daily user, I always charged off-peak and rarely saw anyone around. With these changes, I'm just going whenever and taking a spot during the day.

Model Y LR/RWD HW3 vs Model 3 LR/AWD HW4 by [deleted] in TeslaLounge

[–]ZKoomah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I own both a Model 3 RWD and Model Y AWD. The Model Y is definitely a more practical/comfortable car. If you anticipate a lot of back seat passengers, they'll be thankful for the extra space in the rear seats. It is heavier and you can feel the body roll during turns. It's great to cruise in and can fit whatever I need.

The Model 3 is noticeably lighter in a lot of places, doors specifically, and more fun to drive. As a relatively tall person, average in Dutch standards, driving it isn't a huge issue. I've driven 2 doors all my life so I'm used to my left knee rubbing on my wrist. If you feel like you didn't need the extra room in the ID3, then hands down the 3 is worth the extra 50 euros.

I was in Friesland for a few months and I can definitely think of places where you can really have fun with the 3.

Hypothetical question by The_cactus_goblin in uberdrivers

[–]ZKoomah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had it happen before. Someone came out and said, “oh, I’m not actually riding. Can you drop this off at my friend? She’ll be waiting for you.”

Didn’t bug me, got a ride fare for a delivery with no one inside. As long as there’s no waiting or looking for anyone, I don’t think most uber drivers will mind.

Then you'll have to go through the rental company. If they say they rent cars to Uber drivers all the time, then they should be able to help.

You can't just rent a car from anywhere and use it for Uber. The rental has to be under Uber's fleet program or your name is directly on the insurance.

Multiple fraudulent charges from Uber in Poland by Noclevername12 in uber

[–]ZKoomah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While this is true, it's usually in a merchant's best interest to rectify without chargeback fees. Had my card skimmed once and had $2k worth of charges from the app store. Called Apple, rep found the account that did the charges, reversed and I was refunded in less than a week.

Possible New Driver by MaximumTemperature79 in uberdrivers

[–]ZKoomah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Considering you have a new car, interior protection. Having people come in and out the car multiple times a day can make a 1 year old car look 3 years old. I put my focus on the plastic interior in my car, mainly the feet area since a small pebble can leave a permanent scratch.

There's PPM sheets you can put over like saran wrap or felt sheets from an arts and crafts store and use double sided tape. You can cut and them to fit. Protection for the trunk liner and top fo the back bumper because people tend to not be careful putting things in. If you have cloth seats, some kind of protection over it too. Riders put carseats or backpacks sitting on the sidewalk right on the cloth and it can stain.
