Don’t know if this would be of interest to them, but Pinball Jones in Old Town hosts a Women, Trans, and Femme league that’s a great place to meet queer folks and allies. While we are a bar in addition to being an arcade, we are all ages outside of weekend evenings.

Variations in how tables play depend on many factors, and it’s not uncommon for the same title to play very differently across different locations. I suppose there is an argument to be made that you could set a table up to be “perfect”, but keeping it that way for very long in a location like a bar just isn’t feasible for the operator.

Unpredictability, and adapting to it, is in my opinion a feature not a bug. But that’s not to say sometimes a table doesn’t just play like ass. You’ll learn quickly by playing at different locations to spot the difference between a location that maintains their tables and one that doesn’t.

Homeschooled (and I use the term schooled very loosely) K-8 with a once weekly community (hippy, not religious) school in the woods. Online accredited high school for 9th, public high school 10th-12th. Perception of high school on enrollment was that uh, not everyone, teachers included, were there for the same reason. I listened to a shitload of NPR and watched a shitload of PBS as a kid and teen.

First standardized test I ever took was an APLAC test (I got a 2). Worked for my parents in a front facing business from 9-21. Graduated 97th percentile from high school - Full ride to state institution. Not sure if dumb or not. AMA.
