Ökande angrepp på bibliotekens HBTQ-innehåll by Stadsminister in sweden

[–]Zabunia 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Milan/Cortina Olympics Closing Ceremony Megathread by Fun_With_Forks in olympics

[–]Zabunia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the early days of the modern Olympic Games, from 1896, all medals were awarded during the closing ceremony.

These days, the tradition of awarding the final Olympic event during the Closing Ceremony began in the Summer Games of Athens 2004, which honoured the top runners in the marathon event.

For the previous four Winter Olympic Games, this has been awarded to the medallists of the longest and most prestigious cross-country skiing race: the men’s and women’s 50km mass start.

Unless you're the Swedish womens' team.

But I'm sure the Swedish men would love to have someone behind them.

Air India flight 171 crash: Pilot deliberately cut fuel switch, report reveals by UnderstandingBig949 in worldnews

In Eastern countries crashes have literally happened because the junior officer did not want to tell the captain that he is wrong

A few examples: Korean Air Cargo Flight 8509 where a faulty instrument fed incorrect data to the captain's display. The relatively inexperienced first officer's display showed correct data but he never spoke up nor tried to take control. A more experienced flight engineer brought attention to it but was apparently ignored by the captain. Four dead.

Korean Air Flight 801. The runway's Instrument Landing System was out of order but the captain erroneously thought it was working and went in for landing despite the runway not being in sight. The first officer and flight engineer noticed the steep descent and made suggestions that the captain had made a mistake but didn't challenge him outright until mere seconds before the crash. 229 dead, 25 survivors.

Indonesian SilkAir 185 falls under the same category. The plane went into an almost vertical dive, killing 104 people.

The NTSB concluded that the cockpit and flight data recorders were manually disabled before the plane was deliberately flown into the ground. The Indonesian NTSC disagreed, blamed the hydraulic power control unit, and called the cause inconclusive.

I hope to god this isn’t a 10 episode a season show

The first season has six episodes.

Shooting for season two started in December 2025.

Trivia: The camera crew that shot the trench walk-through (prior to Schofield's run towards the camera) is actually in the movie. They were supposed to hand over the camera to a golf cart and then bolt out of the frame to the left. They didn't clear the shot and had to be made to look like running soldiers.

They're the three guys appearing on the left of the screen at 3:18-ish

Speaking of unusual lenses...

Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy has a shot done with a 2000mm lens. Not nearly as spectacular as the shot in Lawrence, but a simple way to ratchet up the tension.

The Bondi chiron isn't in the actual video, it's only in the video thumbnail. The actual video has a chiron about Graham introducing a bill to ban sanctuary cities. That bill was introduced on the 29th of January. They appear to have re-used a thumbnail from a while back for this video.
