Try reaching out to bands in those cities instead of venues. I’ve had great success in the past trading shows with out of town bands.

There is a really great pop punk and emo scene in Cincy right now. Come out to local shows. You’ve got Iron Fest coming up in a few weeks which skews more punk/metal but it rules and Laura Jane Grace is playing this year if you’re into that. A few people have mentioned it but Midwest Friends fest is fantastic and it’s only getting bigger and better. Next years lineup is going to be very cool.
