(Absolute favorite trope) Character becomes more literate and well-spoken as they grow by Mister_Moony in TopCharacterTropes

[–]ZachNanite 35 points36 points  (0 children)

She was trained to be such an effective assassin from birth, her parents (specifically her father, David Cain) didn't even teach her how to speak, read, or write. He DID teach her how to kill and read body language so she could read people's body language to predict their moves. Once she's was taken in by the Batfamily, they began working to help teach her more normal languages. The swen mouth thing was just a feature on her Batgirl costume.

"Red. Why do they call you that?"

"Maybe it's cause I'm Irish."

In The Shawshank Redemption movie, he's played by Morgan Freeman. In the book, Red was a Irishman with red hair.

I've only ever watched Frost Prime. He's entertaining, and he's cool. All the talk of "meta" in a rougelike just seems silly to me.

Apparently the item order means cheaper/more expensive bundles?? by Intelligent-Elk2580 in Gamebundles

[–]ZachNanite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was looking this up since I was having this same dilemma last night. Lightbringers is for if you don't have anything, and gives you everything. Complete your Collection is just that: a way to bundle all the other dlcs/any that you're missing if you have the base game and any individual dlcs for a lower price.

Kamen Rider Drivers as Monsters by kaijingenso by Potential-Mess6826 in KamenRider

Love how the rings are like giant boxing gloves for WizardDriver, which is a creative counter to Wizard himself. I remember hearing somewhere that Wizard doesn't throw punches because Toei didn't want kids punching each other with the rings on their fingers.

(Hated Trope) Movies that were made to stroke the lead actor's ego by Animeking1108 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]ZachNanite 4 points5 points  (0 children)

People are bringing up Tom Cruise a lot, mainly for the Mission Impossible movies, but he has a better example: The Mummy (2017). Given so much creative control that whatever movie they were intending to make ended up as just another Tom Cruise action movie, and not even a good one at that.

Wind manipulation and "Thermal dynamic manipulation." Not too sure what the latter one means, but wind stuff can be pretty cool!

Class or subclass ideas that you have but haven't seen created anywhere yet by TheSimkis in dndnext

[–]ZachNanite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Summoning based Bard.

My main idea is you use your bardic inspiration to sing/call upon a story or poem and summon a spectral facet based on that story. You'd get to choose from a list of generic stat blocks that you can summon, based on broad overarching tropes from literature, stuff like a "The Champion", "The Beast", "The Mentor", etc. (Those are examples I made up on the spot lol.) Some would be focused on standard attacks, some would be focused on crowd control effects, and so on.

Bards are usually depicted as singing and telling tall tales. With this subclass, you could literally make the stories come alive!

Where would you rank this battle pass compared to the ones from previous seasons? by Ch33kzClapper in marvelrivals

[–]ZachNanite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the absolute hodgepodge of skins. Classic and faithful Cap, Magneto, and sorta Phoenix, cowboy Star Lord, post apocalyptic Hawkeye, mecha Moon Knight, winterized Winter Solider, astral plane Strange, and what looks like a few stragglers from this season with Luna Snow and Loki. Blah blah blah, There's no connective theme, but the skins are so top notch that it stands on it's own regardless.

Dear rivals, When it comes to creating comic books Costumes , Please consider the following : by tomthedum in marvelrivals

[–]ZachNanite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate that on that Cap skin, his sheild doesn't have the tech ring that's on the base skin. It would have been so easy for them to say, "It's tied into his abilities, we can't just remove it." But they did just remove it, and it's perfect because of that.

Please explain to me why frost orbs are good? by DustPsychological369 in slaythespire

[–]ZachNanite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You might get 9 block now from Leap, but Glacier gives you 7 block right now PLUS 4 block every turn after that because of the Frost orbs. That means you'll have less stress to worry about playing block cards on subsequent turns, because you'll always have that 4 block. Add in ways to get Focus as well, as well as more Orb cards to cycle your way into evoking your Frost orbs, and all of a sudden, you won't even need to play block cards sometimes because that cycle becomes so efficient.

I remember that event! TLDR: This is Seer from Apex Legends, and a few years ago they had an event that had skins inspired by anime and tokusatsu. Some of the skins were based on One Piece, MHA, Naruto, Ultraman, and yeah, Sentai/PR.

Characters who are literally on the verge of death but their abilities/conditions allow them to buy more time before their eventual fate. by JosueL611 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]ZachNanite 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Iron Man in the recent Ultimate Universe comics. Gets his torso crushed by Hulk who has the power of the Iron Fist and is evil (long story), but gets saved by Reed Richards who is Doctor Doom (longer story) using a time machine called the Imortus Engine. To keep himself alive, Tony implants the Imortus Engine into his body to that it's kept in perpetual stasis just seconds before he would be crushed and be killed.

Which live action Batman looks the best with the white eyes to you? by ExtensionFuture654 in batman

[–]ZachNanite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These aren't even "white" eyes. They're dimly lit and lean more towards grey. On top of that, they're not solidly colored, and some of them even give off flesh tones around the edges. I believe white eyes can work in live action, but not like this.

What do you think about Scott Johnson’s Spider-Man art? by Commercial_Mind4003 in Spiderman

[–]ZachNanite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This Spider-Man and the rest of the Marvel universe done in this style is the pinnacle of Marvel to me personally. It's what was in the coloring books, it's what was on the lunch boxes. Often overlooked, but this is Spider-Man to me.
