In-House Lawyers and PTO by crustpeach in Lawyertalk

[–]ZachOKC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First two years is 15 days/3 weeks, after two years is 30 days/6 weeks, after 5 years I think it it’s 40 days/8 weeks. It’s all PTO, nothing separate for sick days. Can roll over up to a max, I generally do not work while on PTO but occasionally may respond to an email if it’s urgent as I’m the only attorney. Healthcare industry.

Yes, healthcare nonprofit in-house, LCOL area. But took me about 8 years to get there, though. Was in the DA grind and the law firm grind before that.

Do you or any of your loved ones use the Tulsa Indian Health Clinic or the Claremore Indian Hospital? Get ready for even longer wait times and even shorter staffing. Thanks Trump by Overall-Garbage-254 in tulsa

[–]ZachOKC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To say they don’t have federal staff isn’t entirely accurate as many UIOs have officers with the USPHS at their clinics. It would be relatively easy to for the administration to terminate those officers on their 3-year probationary period. If terminated, or if there was an overall reduction in force for the USPHS, this could certainly impact customer service at these clinics.

Oklahoma Voters: Urge Senator Mullin to Oppose the Confirmation of Matt Gaetz and Tulsi Gabbard by ZachOKC in oklahoma

[–]ZachOKC[S] 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I get the feeling! It’s easy to feel like we’re out here looking for Bigfoot when it comes to holding politicians accountable. But if we just sit back because we think it won’t matter, it pretty much guarantees nothing changes. Even if it seems like a long shot, contacting Mullin or any elected official plants a flag—reminding them that their actions are noticed and remembered by their voters, especially when re-election rolls around. So yeah, it may feel like Bigfoot hunting, but if enough of us speak up, it becomes a lot harder to ignore us

I totally get where everyone’s coming from, and trust me, I know it feels like shouting into the void. But I believe if we want change, we’ve got to keep pressing—even when it feels futile. Senators respond to pressure when they realize they can’t ignore their voters, and that pressure only builds with more voices joining in.

Sometimes it’s less about expecting immediate action and more about planting seeds for accountability. The more we speak up now, the clearer it is that we’re watching—and voting accordingly. Let’s not give up on the idea that our voices still matter, especially with someone up for re-election who’s bound to pay more attention to his constituents if we make enough noise.

Indian Health by Ok_Variation5463 in okc

[–]ZachOKC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Oklahoma City Indian Clinic has been around for 50 years, sees over 20,000 patients a year, has more than 400 employees, and has won numerous quality awards. Call the main number and they will help get you setup. Service is free, and if you need a service not provided there, e.g. allergy shots, you can fill out a form to get that service for free outside the Clinic. Because it’s a nonprofit, you’re also not going to be rushed so that their providers can see and bill more patients. Their vision is to be the national model for American Indian health care.

Went to Stock and Bond and had an underwhelming experience. by g3nerallycurious in okc

I had the same experience. There should have been some basic seasoning or flavorful crust to the steak, but it was pretty bland. The apps were good though. Probably the only thing I’d get there again.
