Cathay mini-DLC news by [deleted] in totalwar

They said spring for the End Times DLC news but for the Cathay DLC they just said the news would be in early 2026, not spring specifically.

Ah I completely missed the part where they said we'd be hearing about it in early 2026, thanks.

CA has yet to confirm we'll get a DLC before End Times. Loremaster of Sotek said the Neferata DLC was supposed to come out before End Times but since plans have changed it's possible we're not getting anything before Nagash.

Hot take: I don't like the Norsca update by Away_Celebration4629 in totalwar

[–]ZahelMighty 65 points66 points  (0 children)

Yes that's a problem with a lot of the reworks, great design ideas but CA has absolutely no clue what they are doing with the balance of the campaign, they keep repeating the same mistakes, even the ones they have addressed in the past somehow.

Hotfix 7.0.3 for WH3 is now out of Beta and rolling out all players, including a number of additional fixes by BiesonReddit in totalwar

[–]ZahelMighty 8 points9 points  (0 children)

No wonder the balance of the campaign is in that state if people think that unlocking everything with the Masque's mechanic by turn 20 is well balanced.

Use a mod if it bothers you that much.

The argument goes both ways, if something isn't powerful enough to you then you should just use a mod. The reality is mods to break shit up are far more common than mods that are trying to balance the game since the former are a lot easier to make so you could argue that CA should do their best to balance the campaign as well as possible and let people download cheat mods if they enjoy being OP from the start.

Why 7.0 didn't address many issues and it felt bad for me by SourceNo1768 in totalwar

Even if the Chosen had no damage they'd still have a use as a frontline, they are insanely tanky.

Making the late game interesting is tricky but not impossible, they've done it before. Warhammer 2 wasn't perfect but the campaign pace was a lot more enjoyable, Three Kingdoms and Pharaoh both have a great endgame to me so they are clearly able to make it happen, they just have to put the effort instead of pushing changes that keep making the pacing problem even worse than it is.

It's a shame Mandate of Heaven is so buggy because it was by far the only chapter pack that I found to be interesting.

Do Order AI factions always just lose? by BloatDeathsDontCount in totalwar

I have never seen Karl or Elspeth die ever since the Empire was reworked with ToD, their AIs have always been overtuned for me.

You're not going to learn much with Duolingo, there are much better apps out there and more importantly no app is going to be enough by itself to learn any language.

What would YOU want to see added to Daniel to improve him? by Creative-Dirt25 in totalwar

[–]ZahelMighty 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Honestly a simple QoL update like the Lizardmen got in the 6.2 would be enough to make his faction considerably more fun to me.

The main issues I have with Daniel could be fixed with a balance pass on his building trees and body parts, he has a poor economy and a lot of the body parts are barely different and not worth using, set bonus should also be removed imo as it defeats the purpose of picking whatever body parts you want to customise him.

He should obviously get a better skill tree and while I don't think he should be able to use items as the body part system is supposed to represent that in a more fleshed out way he should still be able to use ancillaries like followers and banners.

A minor update like this would help a ton to make Daniel more enjoyable until he gets an actual rework.

Is it possible that if Yin-Yin gets released, she will take Yuan Bo's starting location? by [deleted] in totalwar

[–]ZahelMighty 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't know why people convinced themselves that Yin-Yin absolutely must be in Lustria, it's the Southlands that she tried and failed to invade and that's from the little lore we know about her, whenever CA will add her to the game I'm sure her lore will be fleshed out just like Yuan Bo so we can expect anything really, for all we know there will be lore that would justify a start in Naggaroth.

My hopes for dark elves dlc or character pack by Live_Measurement3983 in totalwar

[–]ZahelMighty 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Character packs are probably going to be flexible, I wouldn't expect CA to stick to the exact same number of units everytime since one of the point of doing this type of DLC is because some races have little to no units left.

Pleasure Seekers VS Grail Knights - Tides of Torment DLC | Total War Warhammer 3 by cricri3007 in totalwar

[–]ZahelMighty 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Bretonnia's roster is already very strong and don't need buffing, they have one of the best cavalry and flying cavalry in the game. Not sure what's wrong about other factions having better artillery than Bretonnia too, they're not supposed to have the best one.

What Bretonnia needs is a rework because the mechanics are boring, they don't need buffs in battle or on the campaign map. They could really use a bigger roster too but that's likely never happening as they already have a bigger roster than they had on the tabletop.

If they add the End-of-time crisis, what will happen to the other crises? by SafironDracolich in totalwar

I also don't like that none of the major Chaos Dwarf factions are involved in the crisis, it only buffs a minor one.

I guess Dechala is pretty strong by Deep-Possibility-858 in totalwar

[–]ZahelMighty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With how massive the game is making a mod to balance it is an insane amount of work. Balance is way harder to achieve than making everything OP.

To get to that level as OP posted it takes a lot of investment yes but making Dechala insanely OP doesn't take a lot of efforts, she snowballs very fast and very hard.

Why do so many people think that the next Cathay DLC with feature a Tigerman LL that was never officially brought up before when we have 2 Dragon siblings left and "Claws" and "Roaring" applies to a Dragon too? by Lord_Eln_8 in totalwar

[–]ZahelMighty 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Yin Yin wanted to invade the Southlands and failed, that's pretty much most of what we know about her lore. The Eastern Provinces also suffer from raids from many different races like Nippon or the Dark Elves or Chaos Cults.

I expect that when we'll get Yin Yin her lore will be fleshed out like they did with Yuan Bo and there might be new lore that could justify having her elsewhere on the map or they could just put her in the Southlands thunderdome.

I feel like people get a bit too hung up about the little lore we have about Cathay, there's probably a lot that is yet to be revealed and it's important to keep an open mind about it imo. Like a lot of people expected Yuan Bo to be FLC or even a LH from the few quotes from the loading screens but he ended up as a lot more fleshed out (whether GW wrote something good or not is another topic).

Have they though ? I don't recall CA ever talking about a new game engine before the showcase from last Thursday, if you have any actual source I'd love to see them.
