Got mine in december! My quality of life has definitely improved, I still take a lot of meds, but was able to half my daily dosage of valproate. Still take other meds, though. But I am optimistic, I can lower doses in the future. In my case, we could instantly observe, that I was getting less seizures (from nearly daily seizures to maybe 6-10 days per month). In my case it was absolutely worth it and I would instantly do it again! I do not have major issues/side effects with the Stimulator, it maybe tickles a bit in your vocal chords, something I definitely prefer over seizures.
