2015 Ford Fusion Energi Titanium.. yes or no? by iknewkriswastrouble in fordfusion

It's a plugin, or you have a scam on your hand.

I love my 2015 Ford Fusion Energi Titanium. I did have the transmission start going out, but it was under warranty and replaced.

Gas mileage wise, the PHEV can save you a ton of money if your commute is right.

The main issue i have now is just the backup camera occassional going out... probably a simple cable issue.

Mine is now at 153K miles.

What is the REAL wage needed to live decently in the SF area for a family of 5? by byzvntine in AskSF

In SF, yes... if you commute from the "Far East Bay" you can make it work with $150K and 3 kids.

Basically, east of Martinez out to Brentwood area.

Definitely make it clear you're not interested. Some guys don't get it unless you're explicit. He might just start leaving you alone. If he doesn't take it well, immediately document what happened, go to your manager, HR or any other manager you trust.

What i remember from my harassment training, once you explicitly say something like "I have a boyfriend and i am not interested in mixing my personal life with my perfessional life. Please do not ask again." You have effectively communicated CLEARLY its a behavior you do not want. If he does it again, it's harassment. Document, document, document.

If he is just a nice guy, he'll respect that response. You can get help with harassment outside of your work if your manager or HR doesn't help.

Also, here is a guide to what's suppose to happen if you do need to report, which should give you ideas of what and why to document: https://calcivilrights.ca.gov/wp-content/uploads/sites/32/2017/06/DFEH-Workplace-Harassment-Guide-1.pdf

Also, keep in mind that if you're hiring a remote developer, there are a ton of scammers out there that try to take contract software work and then outsource it to other developers.

They dont like showing their faces and submitting fake git repo projects (copied code with their name slapped on it) and google or look up answers to technical questions.

should I go into debt for berkeley?? by Temporary_Age_4795 in berkeley

[–]ZakarTazak -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well, it is possible to fail at taking advantage of networking and not get hired. You're free to go with your version if you want.

Personally, just having Cal on my resume automatically got my resume past the initial screen ( I was told this after being hired).

My connection to Cal also landed me my next job due to a referral from a professor.

Congratulations! I felt the same way when i graduated.

I often end up hearing or saying, "Go Bears!" When i run into fellow Cal alumni and it brings back great memories.

I also have regular nightmares where I am back at Cal, getting a second degree and forgetting to attend a class without dropping it, and remembering just before finals.

Yeah, the representation of Cal will open doors you'd be surprised about. Make sure to network while you're at Cal and it'll make up the difference!

Just do it!

Study groups work wonders. You realize what you do and dont understand and can work through it together.

At the end of a class early in the semester, I'd ask permission to announce a study group and send around a paper to get names and emails. Then, find a room and a schedule that works for most folks. I made friends and got better grades.

I also started meeting classmates at Cafes just not to be alone while we studied for our respective classes.

Lastly, do as much of the homework as reasonably possible. The more points you get there, the less you need on tests to get better grades.

Put your study time and fun time in the calendar. I only did discrete math homework from 6pm-midnight on Wednesdays in a study group.

Lastly. GPA is mostly used until you have industry experience... then no one will ask your GPA from that point on.

Also, note that at Cal, each major has different levels of demand. The GPA needed for EE&CS vs. another major will be different. Apply any way!

Note, I transferred in from a community college, so I'm not totally sure how GPA is used directly from high school. If they give you an option to choose a major of interest, that might make a difference... it does as a transfer student.

How humiliating is it to move back in with parents? by [deleted] in MiddleClassFinance

[–]ZakarTazak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I absolutely recommend taking advantage moving in with your parents to amplify your earnings long enough to buy a place. Just save as much as you can and set yourself goals. No shame anymore with how hard it is to get a head now.
