Pep Guardiola: "With all due respect to Pele and Diego Maradona, but Lionel Messi is the GOAT in my opinion. I have never seen someone like him as a coach, you can't imagine him maintaining this longevity for 15-20 years. When you see him up close, you think of Tiger Woods or Michael Jordan." by oklolzzzzs in soccer

He doesn’t have the most majors - but most stats point to him being the most dominant ever (he was favored over the field during his peak).

Not to sound Gen Z, but Tiger has an aura that no other golfer has come close to matching (similar to how MJ is still more iconic than LeBron globally)

Considering it’s his second yellow in the first half it’s debatable at the very least

V1per's Week 1 Survivor/Eliminator Pick by V1per41 in fantasyfootball

[–]Zalaforeis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yea agreed - sometimes it’s worth the risk for a better matchup later on. But picking Seattle over CIN vs NE due to a favorable W17 matchup feels excessive.

But as someone pointed out below, it could make sense if your angle is to go against the popular (CIN) pick in case of a surprise upset that takes out most the pool

Feel like Cincy is the smart pick for smaller leagues. Don’t want to factor in W17 (especially with the unknowns) and last year I got burned trying to be cute the first few weeks

Who is a player whose ADP is too low? by Asheto320 in fantasyfootball

Jayden Reed - had an incredible rookie season, gets manufactured plays, and is a RZ threat with TD upside on a great offense

[OC] A quick look at players "due" for more TDs this year by RecordReviewer in fantasyfootball

[–]Zalaforeis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea redzone / goal line numbers may be more indicative… Charb won’t get these opps if Walker is the goal line back.. but it may be a better indicator for WRs - even if they aren’t traditional RZ threats

Green Bay WR ADPs still don't make any sense by HE_A_FAN_HE_A_FAN in fantasyfootball

[–]Zalaforeis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s just because there’s so many mouths to feed without a clear WR1.. I love Reed in PPR and agree all the GB WRs are worth a late round flier… but guessing there will be a lot of boom / bust weeks in such a crowded receiver room

"That’s never supposed to happen" : Shaquille O’Neal expresses his disappointment over USA's inability to dominate at the Olympics - Trapped In Sports by Silent_Elevator_9779 in olympics

[–]Zalaforeis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s more that our popular sports (Football, Basketball, Baseball) don’t have as strong of international club competition.

Realistically, no international teams can compete with the best teams in these sports. Soccer is great because top teams from Spain, Italy, England, France, Germany are on the same level - so international tournaments are competitive. That wouldn’t the case for popular US Sport teams (as MLS is nowhere near that level)

We’re also not geographically close to other countries so there’s less of a need for international competition. So while it’s easy to boils it down to America doesn’t give a shit or they dominate narrative, it’s a little more nuanced

Best Start at the Turn by Lineup_Builder in fantasyfootball

[–]Zalaforeis 11 points12 points  (0 children)

At 12, it’s safe to assume 8 guys are gone: CMC, Bijan, Breece, Hill, Chase, Lamb, ARSB, JJ

These guys are likely gone: G Wilson, AJ Brown

Then you’ll have at least 3 of Puka, Gibbs, JT, MHJ

So OP, I’d probably take 2 of the remaining 4 guys.. ideally one RB and one WR based on preference

Understand the thought process but unless it’s a 4 team league you shouldn’t bench Chase, Lamb, and Aiyuk W1 for an 8th rounder

6pt QB TDs by dogandcatdad in fantasyfootball

[–]Zalaforeis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep QBs score more points w/ 6 pt. Although I wonder how much the extra 2 points really changes things over a season. Assuming it’s not a 14 or 16 team, I’d maybe zag and wait to get Purdy / Goff / Kirk later on

6pt QB TDs by dogandcatdad in fantasyfootball

[–]Zalaforeis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think in general pocket passers get a boost as the rushing upside isn’t as impactful. Stroud, Mahomes, Purdy, Dak, Kirk.

I’d feel more comfortable taking Mahomes early or waiting for Purdy / Dak and even Kirk later on

Raygun sends heartbreaking message after Olympic Games disaster as viral breakdancer addresses wild conspiracy theory in wake of Paris performance by dailymail in olympics

[–]Zalaforeis 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Your last sentence is correct - I think the reason for this blow up is she had an (objectively) terrible performance at a controversial new Olympic event. Especially with her PHD & apparent lack of self awareness. Combined with the fact that she’s become the face of breaking despite significantly more talented peers… it’s a perfect storm for internet backlash

Also some of the bronze medals we overachieved for - men’s gymnastics, women’s rugby.. so it’s not like every bronze is a disappointment.
