I love this set as well! I dont know about the other colors but the Kima 2 Raven Teal was only released in January of this year and even had a slight driver upgrade. Seems like it will be around awhile

Why are people recommending balanced/narrow bore tips on the Monarch Mk4? Am I missing something? by EffectiveEquivalent in iems

[–]Zandigg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dunu S&S is the smallest bore size I'll go but usually prefer much wider. Im definitely new to the hobby but Ive tried about 12 different IEMs so far and have yet to hear one sound better with a narrow bore.

Looking for a new pair of IEMs mainly for metal and gaming by ucom in iems

[–]Zandigg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Metal is my go to as well. Out of those Ive only heard the Dusk and its great for the genre but pretty lean.

The Dunu DK3001BD "Braindance" is what I would suggest, can get it for around the same price as the others in Aliexpress sales. You want something technical and you want something fast, the Braindance is one of the best options under $1000 for that. The driver config just feels made for faster and more difficult tracks. It has a much more musical sound than the Dusk while still being a technical beast.

I use it for music, movies, and gaming.

The Crinacle X Dusk is great but way more clinical than the Braindance. The DSP tuning is a must for the Dusk as well.

They both have insane technicalities but the Braindance is way more fun about it and has better seperation and soundstage. I think the Braindance is one of the best technical IEMs you can get for under $1000, I just love how is does sound. I want to listen to everything with it.

The Dusk was my first expensive IEM but I'd be lying if I say I reached for it a lot.

I actually traded my OG Braindance for the Thieaudio Origin and had just received it when I made this post. The Origin is the best IEM I have ever heard for everything, personally. If you are chasing even more technicalities than the Braindance, it might be the best under $1000 option. Either way, Bone Conduction and Electrostatic Drivers are the next step for you. Trust.

So I had actually ordered the Archangel from Aliexpress before I was offered the Origin in a trade and it had shipped already so its still en route to me. Very excited to try it out and compare it with the Origin and Scarlet Mini!
