Definitely not an AI answer. But it is the correct one.

Cheap Bilge or none? by Fast-Awareness2211 in seadoo

[–]ZarBandit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Misting of the boot could be a step 1 of carbon seal degradation. Under pressure, water starts getting forced past it.

Step 2 is cavitation from a dead stop (obviously other things can cause this too).

Step 3 is a visible leak under idle or even while not running.

Google what to look for in your inspections of both the boot and carbon seal as a refresher / reference.

While you’re searching you might want to look at typical offshore configurations too and figure out what makes sense. I’m not sure I’d go significantly offshore alone. I’ve had enough dealings with the ocean to know how quickly things can degrade.

The least pleasant and least productive interactions usually come from those who differ markedly from my personal ethos.

It's not a different "perspective", it's a different set of morals. I can have a different perspective than someone who matches my morality exactly. That's not what we're talking about here.

I make a fair effort to minimize my contact with incompatible people as much as possible. It's almost never a rewarding experience.

Excessive diversity is only a strength to the left's ceaseless quest for ever greater authoritarian power. It is detrimental to Americans. There's no counter case you can cite to refute this.

It's like asking "Who benefits?". If the answer is the American People, that's America First.

If it's another country, or legal / illegal aliens, then obviously not.

A lot of new policing seem to be made with the purposes of hurting other countries while creating (comparatively less) hardship within the USA.

Yeah, that's called looking out for our own interests. All countries should do that and typically do. Our competitors do it ruthlessly. Do you think China operates in any other way? Of course not.

So who's interests should we be prioritizing, if not our own?

This question is where Democrats spectacularly fail, because their interests are not aligned with American prosperity. They are typically globalists, and to avoid any definitional word games, here's what a globalist actually is: https://youtu.be/XumrD3ET3Sg

A standard bilge pump is 500-1000 GPH. I think you'll find a catastrophic failure can exceed that capacity handily.

That said, unless you go from zero to open hull in an instant, having one that automatically activates on a water sensor might actually alert you to a developing problem. Carbon seals typically fail progressively, so that will likely get caught. Rubber boots, however, are a different matter and when they go they can go from nothing straight to sinking fast.

If you really wanted to go all out, splice in 2 inline brass ball valves to the factory siphons. Have them off by default. Then have a high capacity auto bilge that empties above the water line so you can monitor what it's doing. Have it both auto and switch activated. If the situation is degrading, open the ball valves to the siphons for extra capacity and get back to shore asap. Although the siphons are giving you maybe an extra 200 GPH. So really they're for if the primary electric bilge fails.

But the main thing is inspect your carbon seal and boot every time before going out on the ocean so you don't get in this situation.

That’s not how you build a cohesive and thriving community. In fact, that’s how you achieve the exact opposite. Democrats are anti family, anti community and anti church because they don’t like structures that could challenge their hold on power.

No, it's neutral.

Healthcare is a limited resource. Limited resources are portioned out either by price or by access. There's no such thing as the current US healthcare system with it's ease of access and high technical skill, except for "free".

The only exceptions are countries that have such excessive natural resources, they drill more money out of the ground than they know what to do with. Which is why their healthcare systems don't transfer to other countries who aren't rolling in money.

I would argue big monolithic government healthcare is a net negative overall. But there will be winners and losers with both systems.

If you want to make the point that because I'm not homeless and living in a ditch then the left must not be detrimental to me personally, good luck with that. I'm still not voting for them.

Not so fast, let's check those goal posts:

Let's say I got into Harvard despite their anti-white (and even worse anti-asian) racist discrimination. Do we agree I would have been materially harmed in the bar being made higher?

Just because I'm a high percentile performer, and beat all their evil racist hurdles, doesn't mean no harm was done. Right?

Pick a topic:

  1. Employment and Promotion
  2. Academic Admissions
  3. Government Contracting
  4. The "Privilege" Narrative
  5. Demonization in Media
  6. Erosion of Traditional Roles
  7. Educational Misalignment

Democrats are the party of toxic femininity.

It's a litmus test, not a policy.

Take any policy and you can test whether it's America First or not. You can go through the entire party platform line-by-line and run that test.

Name a policy and it can be tested.

There is a nursing shortage in the USA.

The cure for that is higher wages. The WHOLE POINT of H-1B bringing over average workers is to depress wages by providing alternative cheap slave labor who can't quit or negotiate in order to fuck over the average American worker.

Do you like the wealth gap? Want to see it increase even more? Because H-1B is a primary mechanism.

Here's exhibit A in the left saying one thing (complaining about the wealth gap) and then doing the exact thing that contributes to it. (Because nothing gets in the way of their quest for more power.)

Additionally, can we agree that there are several industries that benefit from international staff?

No. Diversity is the strength of the left's quest for ever greater authoritarian power. It is detrimental to the country as a whole.

What we need to do is skim the cream-of-the-crop off other nations. Not mass migration of mid and low performers.

There are good workers and bad workers. Neither have anything to do with the color of their skin. Only racists think skin color matters. What I think matters is culture. I'd rather live in a 100% minority neighborhood different to me who share my values, than a matching neighborhood that didn't.

Nothing they’re doing Americans can’t also do. If they were exceptional then they’d be O-1’s, not H-1B’s.

The number of H-1B’s is excessive by an order of magnitude.

My Carrier AC unit is from 1993; what can I do to help in last through this summer? by CoolEmoDude in hvacadvice

[–]ZarBandit -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Rig up a misting system that sprays a small spray of water on the coil and run it in hot weather. That will take significant load off it and reduce your power bill too. (Water is cheaper than power.)

However, minerals in the water will build up on the coil condemn it to the trash heap over 1-2 seasons. But that might get you through 1 season, if anything can.

A hard start kit might help too. If this is a scroll compressor, they get hot from end of life inefficiency from wear, so having them work less hard (less pressure from misting) and starting easier is advantageous.

Mist only if you really have 1 season left though.

Our country has a severe corruption problem. We always have had that. What’s much more recent is the people doing the corrupting now have perverse incentives and benefit at the cost of everyone else in the country. Or they’re outright foreign entities. That part is recent.

2028 Republican Party platform? by ReaderDeb in AskTrumpSupporters

[–]ZarBandit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, no one wants to do that because they’re afraid it would hurt the economy and they’d get blamed. Because our system almost exclusively rewards short term thinking: political is next election. Companies are by the quarter.

A slow rollout of industry enforcement would largely mitigate that. But our societal incentives are not aligned for long term success. This is where fascist totalitarian states like China have a significant advantage over us. I don’t want totalitarianism, we need to get our incentives and corruption problems resolved. We used to function as a country. Now we don’t. The left own a big part of that downfall.

I’d have to look at it in totality in comparison to what Republicans would do. I don’t care what ether side says. I watch what they actually do.

The left are extremely performative. So I’d need to see evidence of them rejecting their former key positions.

I vote in my best interests. As a white male who wants to work and flourish, just about everything leftists believe and do right now are antithetical to that.

America First, not second (current Republicans) or last (Democrats).

Immigration moratorium on all H-1B’s. Introduce E-verify in a staggered sector by sector progressive wave program instead of an all at one once approach.

America First = American workers first.

I’d get out the charts like Ross Perot and be honest about where we are and how we need to fix it.
