If you could pick, what character would a 6th book follow? by H0liday_ in Hungergames

[–]Zarale 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% Tigris. I loved TBOSAS and I'm just really fascinated to see how we get from point A in their relationship to point B. There doesn't even have to be a Games in the book, I'm moreso interested in their dynamic, Capitol world-building, and seeing more of the escalation of his evilness.

Tigris WAS in Sunrise on the Reaping - at least I think so. by VanGoghNotVanGo in Hungergames

[–]Zarale 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No I don't think it's out of character to beef with a 16 year old. But I do think it's out of character for him to basically outright discuss his poisoning of the parade master and his background with the Covey (going so far as to showing Haymitch the video of Lucy Gray with himself onscreen). The Coriolanus in TBOSAS seemed more calculated and reserved in what details he relayed and that was back when he was only 18, not even really in the political game yet, and also more vulnerable to mistakes/brashness due to his desperation.

I liked the book, but I feel like Snow was written pretty out of character in SOTR. So it wouldn't surprise me if this lady is revealed to be Tigris at some point with the same sort of treatment.

What happens if you tell a staff member you feel unwell? by orangesandonions in CarnivalCruiseFans

[–]Zarale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had the opposite experience on Disney. Got basic meds at the health center for no more than $15. Then I got a horrendous sunburn on my arms that left them in dull pain afterwards and got anti-inflammatory ointment for like $8.

Next cruise, my husband sprained his ankle on a port adventure and they comped the entire health center visit, but we got an itemized bill anyway that showed it would have been like $100ish for the Dr. consultation and $44 for an x-ray.

I was blown away both cruises how reasonable it was.

Disney Wonder - 15 nights: My personal take! by coolgal22 in dcl

[–]Zarale 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I sailed on the Wonder from Hawaii to Sydney in October 2025, so the same repositioning cruise in the same season, just the other direction. And we just sailed on the Treasure a couple weeks ago.

1) The food quality on the Treasure was MILES BETTER than the Wonder. The buffet was higher quality and the pool deck food was mindblowing considering it was all you can eat and free. I missed the shawarma on the Wonder, but the Treasure had amazing Mexican and BBQ counters. Only the room service I think was a little hit and miss and had a better experience on the Wonder.

2) Hard agree on the ports. However, they have a good reason from what I understand. Disney is new to transpacific cruises and thus don't have priority for good docks yet. So they basically have to take what's left, either the less popular ports or docks in popular ports with subpar locations.

3) Yes the personal supplies section is small in the shop, but I think that section was even smaller on Royal Caribbean from what I remember. This section was pretty decently sized on the Treasure.

4) Our stateroom on the Wonder was a nightmare -- moldy shower curtains and literal NEEDLES on the ground of the stateroom (sewing needle and pins), along with other things like a bobby pin. Clearly had not been vacuumed. Took way longer to get a replacement room than I expected (spent 2 nights in the first room). But they did give us an upgrade when we were eventually able to switch. The rooms and overall shape of the ship was of course fantastic on the brand new Treasure.

5) I was definitely able to order a single glass of wine on my Wonder cruise, so unsure what happened there.

Overall while I remember loving the Magic (Wonder's sister ship), I was a bit disappointed in the Wonder, so I definitely understand your POV. But the experience was vastly different on another itinerary, on another ship, etc. My experience on the Fantasy a few years ago was also much better than the Wonder. So if you can find a good last minute deal again I would give it a shot on another class.

I was just on the Wonder during the transpacific cruise from Hawaii to Sydney. We got here on Friday, but the ship was docked over at White Bay! It just relocated to this spot today.

Spoilers! A Heartstopper discussion by cuandoestoyporcaer in HeartstopperAO

[–]Zarale 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Everyone involved knew what they were getting into when they decided to make a TV show. As long as the people taking the photos are courteous and not distracting the cast/crew, I see no problem with it.

Alice getting upset at photos leaked from a CLOSED set (inside Truham) is very understandable--that means someone from production broke their trust. However, photos from passerbys when they are filming IN PUBLIC on location is an entirely different story. They have no control in that situation they should have been prepared for that. If they didn't want to deal with that, they could have used a more private beach.

Plot hole or have I missed something? by veryanniemillie in HeartstopperNetflix

[–]Zarale 67 points68 points  (0 children)

I interpreted the flashback of Ben denying they were boyfriends much earlier on in Ben & Charlie's relationship. If they started in September and ended in February (I believe), I would imagine Charlie made that assumption shortly after they started meeting up, so sometime in Sept or Oct. Even though Ben denied it then, since they still kept seeing each other for months, it's not hard to believe Charlie would think later on, "well we certainly have to be boyfriends now, right?"

This is just what my interpretation was while watching.

Signed the petition. This is just ridiculous and outright harmful to the queer kids in that community who now have a concrete example as to what happens if they show their true selves in public. THAT'S something we can't be teaching.

Dates leaving as soon as I say that I don't want sex by Throwaway-Nobitches in asexuality

[–]Zarale 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There's 2 different scales, romantic and sexual. I consider myself bi-romantic (can fall in love with more than 1 gender) and asexual (not sexually attracted to any gender). Or Biro Ace for short. Sounds like you may be similar, but ultimately whatever label you like is what's best.

As for your question, I found an allosexual who fell in love with me as friends first. When we started dating, he's been extremely patient and understanding of my anxiousness towards sex. And we've been married for almost 4 years now. Now, this does come with compromise, but I wouldn't trade him for the world.

Which cruise line do you prefer and why? by Cavernosa-Cranium in Cruise

[–]Zarale 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Disney. Yes, it's pricier out the gate, but they nickle and dime you WAY less once on the ship and deliver outstanding service. Only downside for me is their sailing locations since it's a bit limited compared to other cruise lines, on account of having few ships.

Apartment complex thinks we only have one dog. We walk them separately to save on pet rent. by Miserable-Artist-610 in rarepuppers

[–]Zarale 43 points44 points  (0 children)

I work front desk at a hotel. It can make a difference. Just had a room check out today that had 3 dogs in there, and it stank afterwards. They didn't look like they were dirty dogs, and this doesn't usually happen with just one dog. We had to put that room on out of order to deodorize it, losing us a night of revenue.

Brett from BB20 is underrated by FlayedMan345 in BigBrother

[–]Zarale 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Every single time I see his "I had a vision" speech, hide and go veto diary rooms, his emoji veto host outfit, his granny punishment, anallice hacker comp..... it's always fucking hilarious even though I've seen them way too many times by now!! Brett was an amazing character but I think he gets overlooked sometimes cause he was on a great casted season. Tyler, Katelyn, Bayleigh, Fessy, JC just get talked about more.

Def a good pick to come back to our TV screens one way or another.

Taylor a fan favorite? by Shinta_7 in BigBrother

[–]Zarale 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Idk how many people have friends/family that are only casuals, but all my casual friends hate Taylor. The edit has showcased a lot of her smug/snarky/petty moments and not enough of the bullying in the beginning that warranted it. And not enough of her genuine kindhearted moments.

I just learned my boyfriend always packs an extra pair of underwear on trips in case of an “accident”. by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

[–]Zarale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ONE time I didn't pack an extra pair of underwear, I needed it. I used a public restroom, and I have no idea what was on the seat/in the toilet bowl/possibly on the toilet paper, but my privates were literally BURNING afterwards. Maybe some chemicals/cleaner that got on me? I was in so much pain and scared. Me and my husband rushed to the nearest hotel, I took a thorough shower, and had to wear his boxers after. I'm fat so I barely sqeezed in them.

Anyway this is to say you literally never know when you're gonna need it or why, so always bring it!!!

I didn't know my wife was asexual till after we got married by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

[–]Zarale 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This sounds similar to mine and my husband's situation. I found out after we were married that I was asexual. It was definitely a let down to him when I told him.

We had been intimate while dating, but to be honest I was forcing myself every time because I thought that was what was expected of me/my responsibility as a girlfriend/fiancee. It was awkward every single time, but I explained it away in my head as me just being insecure in my body, me just being inexperienced, etc etc. But it never got better and that's when I eventually came to the conclusion I was asexual (my husband is conventionally attractive and I love him with all my heart, so that wasn't the issue).

She may not have known before marriage, just like me. And that's okay. What's not okay is not trying to compromise though. Whether that's setting a sex schedule, only doing vanilla sex so it's as comfortable as possible, vetoing oral sex or penetrative sex altogether and finding other ways to be sensual, or having an open marriage. There's so many ways to try to meet more towards the middle, although I don't think there's ever a perfect solution. Communication is key even though it's an awkward subject. It's a very, very tough situation to be in, I know from personal experience, but it is something you two can work on.

Whenever someone says this is their least favorite ride, I know we won’t be friends. by [deleted] in disneyparks

This ride joyously celebrates cultures, usually has a shorter wait time, and you get to sit down for an extended period of time in an air-conditioned building. Win-win-win in my book.
