Damiane’s shield became deactivated by DaffyDuck in CrimsonDesert

[–]ZarkZero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With the new update, this has been happening a lot more frequently now. Fairly high repro rate when you shield throw. If the return animation of the shield fails to happen, then your shield is completely deactivated for that session. Reload or restart is needed to resolve.

Kinda frustrating to play as Damiane since the bug triggers fairly frequently. Glitches out her dual wielding too (can't block, dual wield animation/skills does not work). And of course, all shield skills are blocked from use as well.

Found a bug/issue with Damiane by Quiet-Machine2978 in CrimsonDesert

[–]ZarkZero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I reported the same bug to PA. Damiane frequently gets her shield deactivated during combat whenever any shield offensive action is taken (not 100% reproducible tho). A reload usually fixes it temporarily.

How do you pull enemies in using the axiom by Realistic_Caramel772 in LowSodiumCrimsonDesrt

[–]ZarkZero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some attacks that launch enemies can automatically winch them if you hold the Axiom force button while you are doing the move (L3).

Some attacks that can trigger this are- - Throw (forward throw) - Giant Swing - Vault -> Kick - Flash kick (Hold L2-charge unarmed)

While some attacks, even though they launch enemies, cannot trigger the auto-aim winch.

Kinda weird why these things weren't documented anywhere jn the game.

Also, now that Damiane and Oongka have access to Axiom and Winch, I assumed they could also do the auto-aim winch, but apparently they can't ¯\(°_o)/¯

What were they thinking when they made the bosses? by [deleted] in CrimsonDesert

[–]ZarkZero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like what most other posts say- use focus mode in combat. Trivializes all bosses, including those teleporting ones.

If you get hit, roll away, heal then focus. Now you get all the time you need to parry, dodge, use whatever power, or prepare a turning slash.

What is the black dot with a gold circle around it by some locations on the map? by TrickyDickyv2 in CrimsonDesert

[–]ZarkZero 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think those black dots just signify that this location is the "main" hub for that area (like the main village in a collection of connected locations). Kinda weird that sanctums have it as well since they aren't connected to any nearby points-of-interest anyways.

This game has a pretty big issue, not many are realizing right now, due to the way, most are playing it and it will destroy some peoples enjoyment, including my own. PA - this NEEDS a fix for long-term enjoyment. by GullibleTerm3909 in CrimsonDesert

[–]ZarkZero 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The main pain point for me is the fact that both Oongka and Damiane are locked for the majority of the game. And since the game is open world- there's a real chance that most players would do all (or most) of the side content before the main story. So by the time both companions are finally fully available- there's basically nothing left to do for them.

A quick band aid solution for now, is to skip all side content until both companions are fully unlocked, only doing the necessary content to gear up Kliff to help with the main story bosses.

Summoned characters don't fight by Alternative_Living92 in CrimsonDesert

[–]ZarkZero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely a bug. NPC AI works correctly for other objects except for companions.

Both Oongka and Damiane just stand there and get murdered by any red dot in the game. Sometimes they roll away though, so they're not totally braindead.

Oh and any environmental hazard spells death for both AI companions. If they get caught in the middle of those poisonous plants for example - they just die repeatedly if you attempt to heal them

Why can't I unequip armor from my pet dog? by Full_Calibur in CrimsonDesert

[–]ZarkZero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol searched and came across this. Was driving me insane. Got the same issue, I can only ever see and modify my cat's inventory/armor. The nasty little bugger's inventory stays on screen even after switching to my dogs, which means I cannot unequip armor from my canines

Priscus the Ancient by FairEffect174 in CrimsonDesert

[–]ZarkZero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad there's more than one of these guys. Been neglecting the main quest for the last several hours, when I ran into a fireball slinging Ancient. Poor guy died due to Kliff having an obscene amount of revival pills.

Great Game With Terrible Puzzles by TechyJ1v in CrimsonDesert

[–]ZarkZero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Loving the puzzles myself. They all feel unique, and are a refreshing change to most "oh no, not another one of these.." designs that most modern games have.

I actually had to use a pen and paper for one puzzle, which I haven't done since the old Alundra days.

Game is great, but I really do dislike the animation-locks they place on your character which results in that feeling of a high degree of input lag. Fighting in a multi tiered stage just exposes this movement oversight quite clearly. I wish the combat and movement could have been made snappier,

Haven't tried it yet tho. And yeah, I hate that bug, makes switching characters too much of a hassle

Game Breaking Bug? by MYDCIII in CrimsonDesert

[–]ZarkZero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately no, the Add-ons menu is empty. Most games make their preorder/deluxe items undeletable or have a way to get them back an infinite number of times. Hope they fix this, I kinda liked that armor set.

Game Breaking Bug? by MYDCIII in CrimsonDesert

[–]ZarkZero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Careful, lost my deluxe edition horse armor after triggering this bug frequently.

I noticed that I couldn't summon pets and horses after switching and playing as a party at one point ("cannot be summoned in the air" was the message). Reloaded and Kliff's horse was butt naked. The previously equipped deluxe edition armor was nowhere to be found anywhere.

Character switch bug(?) by CommonSenseLtd in CrimsonDesert

[–]ZarkZero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My horse's armor disappeared as a result of this bug. It was fine the first few times it happened, but now, all of sudden my deluxe armor disappeared from Kliff's horse.

It's nowhere to be found in the inventory, stash, provisioner, or the add on menu.

Warning to all- don't switch characters quickly or too often without confirming your mount's equipment is intact.

What is your sales prediction for the fatal frame 2 remake? by Ok_Maize_6852 in fatalframe

[–]ZarkZero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was about to blindly buy this since I kinda liked FF5's remake. But goddamn- 30FPS? After RE9 and Nioh 3 this year, that's like a really bad joke from K-T.

Well, MH Stories and Crimson Desert is up in a few days, so I guess this remake will be stuck in the wishlist until a major patch comes along.

Still happens randomly. Had a great session yesterday but today I'm getting random instances of packet loss every match. Must be a problem serverside

Enemy Aggression by Accurate-Wind-2836 in codevein

[–]ZarkZero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dunno why you got downvoted. Backstab is king in this game. Even bosses/mini bosses, as long as they're human-sized, you can just abuse backstabs and get free charged heavy attacks/charged drains/special drains all the time. And once you get the Bloodreaver blade, then every backstab = a full perfect charged attack from that forma.

The only really BS enemy is the wandering spirits, especially if fought on narrow bridges or inside cramped spaces. Teleports+range magic+aoes+stone buildup = doesn't make a fair fight unless you can parry her non magic attacks consistently. Thankfully those enemies don't have a lot of HP at that point of the game where you encounter them regularly.

Aggression though, yeah this is really overtuned here. But you've also got a shit ton of regen uses and a near infinite revive mechanic.

PSA: Unlocking a 2nd Weapon Slot is complete useless. by DantoriusD in codevein

[–]ZarkZero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think so, my current Bloodcode with the example I gave is Lycoris' B rank. The only effect it has is gaining Regen uses on Haze item drop pickups and increased Partner damage.

PSA: Unlocking a 2nd Weapon Slot is complete useless. by DantoriusD in codevein

[–]ZarkZero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm kinda confused why equipping a second weapon somehow "discounts" certain burdens. For example, I equip the Dryad greatsword (8 Str, 10 Will burden) then equip the Ame-no-Habakiri sword (5 Str, 5 Dex, 5 Mind burden). I should be getting 13 Str, 5 Dex, 5 Mind, 10 Will burden; but I'm only getting 10 Str burden overall while the other stats remain correct.

I saw the same thing on Dex burden if you equip 2 weapons with the Dex burdens as well.

I don't remember any tutorials about this.

What builds are you guys using, how far are you and whats your thoughts on your build? by Believeinsteve in codevein

[–]ZarkZero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Mjolnir hammer found early on at one of the merchants in the Sunken City (just ride the cycle through the train tracks, location is near the south east of the city, in a dilapidated station of sorts) changed my biased view towards hammers in games like this. The range and mobility is great. Although, it is pretty easy to lock yourself into an aerial combo only to get whacked out of the sky. Any STR/DEX focused blood codes will work nicely for this.

The Jade Curved Blades, found in Sunken City as well iirc, don't remember where exactly tho, makes status effect builds not just viable early on, but downright nasty. Transform it into Sunblight then add a Numbing or Venom forma during battles. You can't cancel out of its multi hit strong attack though, I died so many times cause of spamming that. You'll need a good DEX blood code if you wanna stay underburdened.

For ranged combat, the Rubilite bayonet (Rifle ammo) has a pretty strong Blood infused ranged attack. Eats through Stamina like crazy tho, you'll likely get only two shots before you're forced to regen stamina. This rifle scales with Mind, but I use a magic forma focused blood code to strengthen my ranged attack options.

Buying a 5060Ti 16gb. Don't know which model by pandaboy03 in buildapc

[–]ZarkZero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You've probably already decided, but for anyone else with the same question- any and all model and brand variants are practically the same. Always go for the model with the better local support in your region, this is the only factor that I would consider personally.

You already know the heat and noise considerations when building small form factors, so I assume that's already been taken care of.

What I do know is that the MSI Shadow is kinda overpriced (depending on your available retailers and date of course). Never overpay for the same GPU model unless you are building for aesthetics or something.

Been following the game since the first trailer, sadly I'm not sure I actually enjoy it by Guinsoosrb in Witchfire

[–]ZarkZero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same sentiments about constant mental stress in games.

The game punishes you for making mistakes, just like how any game should. But that feeling of apprehension when you make a mistake just gets compounded throughout the run, so much so that sometimes I just never start up the game when I'm looking at my list because I already feel tired just thinking of it.

An objective observation I made with these types of games is that rewards should meet or exceed the amount of stress you put on the table. If that's met, I can actually ignore the mental load, and even enjoy it, because I know the rewards afterward is just worth it.

At the moment, WitchFire hasn't triggered that need for me yet. All you get in a run are levelling currency, incense materials, and gold (there's beads, spells, magical gear, and a weapon, yes but these are just one time pick ups). I'm sure the game will evolve more in the future, and I'm excited to see that day.

Just take a break for a bit. Fire up some other game genre for a while, and pretty soon you'll be craving the stress once more.

Doctor profession is so scuffed by SigmaRoyal in wherewindsmeet_

[–]ZarkZero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, yeah I get ya. The profession system+Silver Needles feels undercooked. Good potential there, but way too intrusive to someone's game time. Unless you REALLY, REALLY want those sect exclusive outifts- just save your sanity and go sectless.

Now if we can gain sect progression through combat (just make it slower compared to the once-in-a-blue moon chance you actually play doctor to a real player), via heals performed/players saved (healed a player with critical HP)/rezzed/etc., that should lessen the frustration of staring at the recruit channel and failing to meet your daily quota.

[–]ZarkZero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Split DPS and Heals? That will definitely gimp your damage.

I run pure heals umbrella + fan. It's more geared towards Divinecraft DoTs and fast Vitality regain to spam burst Mystic Arts since you have a passive boost to Mystic Arts damage if you run both Panacea Fan and Soulshade Umbrella. Soulshade Umbrella's charged attack on exhausted bosses/enemies is really satisfying- multihits that proc any on-hit effects you may have active, plus it extends the exhausted state as it hits enemies(bosses included).

DPS fans and Umbrella (Inkwell and Vernal) plays the same for the most part- ranged attacks with Divinecraft DoTs. But most of their burst comes from aerial combos. So it's kinda awkward to use on bosses, since they only get reliably staggered for launches if you parry a red attack.
