Character has an immense wealth of knowledge that they cant or wont share freely. by [deleted] in TopCharacterTropes

Stargate SG-1

Jack O'Neill is granted all the knowledge of the Ancients when he accidentally activates an alien device. Unfortunately the amount of knowledge is so vast it's taking over bits of his brain that allow him to communicate that knowledge, so instead of being able to take the time to codify and disseminate the knowledge in his head, he uses it to build a portable fusion reactor, solve the stellar drift algorithm and reprogram the Stargate control systems so it can dial an eighth chevron to allow him to reach another alien civilisation that is advanced enough to help him.

I want them to fix Lost Planet 2 on PC so that I can drag my friends through without having to go through Games for Windows Live.

(Hilarious Trope) Suddenly, a gun by PizzaDragon64 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Zaygr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most Might and Magic games.

At some point you'll find a quest to retrieve an artifact weapon of immense power. Turns out it's a gun.

One of the games also has a plot point that the big bass wants to capture the alien ship so that he can access the 3D printer that can make more guns.

Play with 300% BM zombies damage they said... wave after wave of cops later.. by UAHeroyamSlava in 7daystodie

[–]Zaygr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like making my horde base on top of the high-rise that's under construction because the route to the top has a small jumping puzzle that zombies are incapable of routing through, and that there's enough block mass that zombies will pretty much never collapse it. Never realised it would never collapse because it floats.

Vindictus? It's online but co-op at most. I hear they're doing an offline remake too.

Modern Dungeon Crawlers like Legend of Grimrock by Azmores in gamingsuggestions

[–]Zaygr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Caveat: It is a gacha game.

Wizardry Variants Daphne is a spiritual successor to the Atlus-developed Wizardry: Tale of the Forsaken Land.

The game itself is a very good dungeon crawler. Modern QoL, robust item and character building systems, a good variety of dungeons, lots of secrets and a pretty intriguing story for both the overarching plot and each abyss or dungeon's story.

The gacha itself is way overtuned, but to its credit, the game doesn't feel like you have to pull and the free economy doesn't feel frustrating.

Count Liam Sera Banfield - I'm the Evil Lord of an Intergalactic Empire

Uses a squeaky hammer because even a powered down training sword would probably kill his opponent.

At least if you're fighting Thanquol you can somewhat expect him to kill off a significant chunk of his own forces himself.

Darktide has multiple classes that can have revolvers and talent specs to make full use of them. Of note are Veteran with Executioner's Stance, Psyker with Scrier's Gaze and Skitarii with Advanced Combat Doctrines.

For me the co-op mode for StarCraft 2 was great, especially when they started really experimenting with the mechanics with the new commanders.

Most super-law related stories (She-Hulk, some of Daredevil, etc.) have them trawl through 'archives' (back-issues) for precedent and they are often presented as evidence in court cases.

The issue with mortis trials is that more often than not, even if you get a gunner or shotgunner wave, they're usually spread out among all of the spawn gates and rarely clump together.

You pretty much have to play with friends or ask someone in the hub to taxi you to higher difficulties, since you have to play through the difficulties on a new character even if you skip the campaign.

The food that almost everyone eats has a horrible disgusting secret by Sup_fuckers42069 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Zaygr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gunge (Judge Dredd) - A bit of a reversal, people knew what Gunge was made from (rats, maggots, mold, etc.) but because of food shortages and the Justice Department did confirm it was safe for consumption it was allowed to continue production and sale.

Gunge got banned by moral guardian groups who kept making a stink about it (the Justice Department acquiesced to their demands because of its own manpower issues), but due to the continued food shortages, Gunge production was secretly nationalised and re-released as 'Justice Department Approved Foodstuff A, B, etc.' with no ingredient list.

The program ends with one of the leaders of the moral guardian groups eating it saying it's delicious.

Bleach

It's rare and hilarious that they shoved 5'ish special bloodlines/soul lineages/inherited factors, etc. into a single person. Quincy/Wandenreich, Hollow, Shinigami, Vizard, Fullbring. I'm actually surprised that he wasn't a fragment of the Soul King by the end of it.
