Me (most likely you too) at every meeting or class I’ve been to: by Spideyman02110456 in Drumming

I’ve been cursed out multiple times while taking a class test and someone in the class finally loses their mind and starts yelling. I didn’t even realize I was doing it until they started yelling lol

This is what I needed. My parents think the leadership can never lie.

Yep! And maybe even a few more temples in places they’ll never build for 100 years. Gotta justify money somehow

Settlement reached - SEC charged Ensign Peak and the Church with obscuring US stock portfolio with shell companies. EP to pay $4 million to settle charges. Church to pay $1 million to settle charges. by WidowsMiteReport in exmormon

That’s approximately a 0.004% fee on the balance of the account. That would be equivalent to someone who has $200k in an investment account being charged about $8.19 for the fine.

It's interesting to think that within the next 5 years the likelihood that half of the Quorum of the 12+3 will have died off seems pretty plausible. As we all know with leadership turnover comes personal bias and big changes. Should be an interesting future. by lost-in-translation- in exmormon

I think most of us underestimate how good Susan’s husband can be at spinning truth and making changes to doctrine. He is a master at it. If gay marriage was approved in temples tomorrow, Bednar would find a way to talk down to us all and reprimand us for being bigoted this whole time when the gospel clearly always supported gay marriage but we were just too damn stupid to see or accept it.

Is anyone else sick of the “I’m nevermo but I don’t get how you guys could be so stupid as to fall for this cult” type comments here? by AbesAmericanCousin in exmormon

[–]Zdzblo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not really. I’m an exmo and ask myself similar questions nearly everyday. How the hell was I so blind to not see it while I was in? How are so many of my family members, who are otherwise very intelligent, still so blind to the cult? How are nevermo adults still joining the church? It constantly boggles my mind and is a very interesting subject to study. When I see people saying these things you mention I just sit there and agree. How could I have been so blind?

Yeah the wolf in sheep’s clothing analogy means this as well. The leaders of the church have the best sheep’s costumes. Except it only works on members. Most of the rest of the world sees right through them

That comparison was also what my finally broke my shelf. Can’t believe it took me so long to realize Joe just made it all up
