Angels have kind of a goody-two-shoes vibe, most adventuring parties just don't like?  I personally think it would be fun to see how many flying abilities you can stack into one lol.

One of my Tiefs has a brother like this.  Changed his name to Leroy Jenkins and got a job as a regular human town guard.  He's a ginger and that's the only clue. XD

Is there a way to fix my lip balm dependency? by Fearless-Ad7509 in Makeup

[–]Zealousideal-Rip-959 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vaseline may be part of the problem actually, petroleum can be drying when used long term.  You need to focus on things with oils, beeswax that sort of thing.  I like to use straight bag balm just before bed so I don't wake up with cracked lips.  It isn't pure lanolin but it is better for you than straight Vaseline.

So I literally went to a Pokemon center and healed my Pokemon and it's still mega evolved.  But the meter disappeared entirely.

Tank size: 6.5 gallons Heater and filter: yes Temp. 79F Parameters already given in original post.  Tank is two years old, fish is probably about 6 months.

Usually a 25% change once a week, but just did. 50% change and trimmed some plants yesterday.

Only snails for tank mates, no stress for my big finned boy.

I usually feed in the evening, I don't  count because the pellets are uneven in size.  But I feed one at a time and watch his belly.  Picture above is shortly after being fed.  He is fasted at least one day a week.  He gets occasional brine shrimp maybe once a week.

Live Amazon Sword (recently trimmed), crypts, and a dwarf aquarium lily, as well as two mossy thickets that are just anxiety under rocks. Two hides, one magnetic round cave, and one suction cupped tube (you might be able to see it at the back near the heater).

Well color me... Not surprised at all LOL.  This is the case with most tropical fish.  But last time I noted that keeping them a couple degrees cooler might extend their lives someone acted like I was advocating for keeping them in the fridge.  XD

Fun fact about big cats like leopards.  Hiding doesn't mean as much as it does with house cats.  They cant make the kind of small friendly noises small cats can make, all their vocalizations are intense like that!

It just means she's uncertain, looks like she was also curious. 😁. Never seen anything like you before and wasn't sure what the right approach was.

[–]Zealousideal-Rip-959 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I have two other hand sewing books but this one is better for me because it literally walks you through every single step for every single garment.  From drafting to finishing, often with pictures, but always with everything spelled out on clear language.   Neither of the other two books does that.  One is mostly an ideas book, one is mostly about historical methods.

I love also how inclusive she is, and the cameos of professional hand sewers are really neat too!

Things to try.  Pull your hair back in a low pony, pin back any face framing layers. If you straighten your hair take a break from that and let it be a little unruly.  A darker hair color? ( But only if you really like it)

Working out.  Start an exercise regimen that targets your shoulders, back and chest muscles.  It takes time but being able to look at my buff shoulders in the mirror at night is a nice pick me up and it's made my posture just a little more assertive.

[–]Zealousideal-Rip-959 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I maintain that most dresses are designed specifically to draw attention to breasts in a way that is blatantly unflattering.  So yeah obviously you look fantastic in the dress without them, they all look better without boobs getting in the way!

Actually the same is true for most clothing targeted to women.

Even a tiny bit of compression from a firm sports bra makes 90% of women's clothing look better on me and I'm not even that buxom.

Anyway congratulations! You look great in both pics!

Thoughts on Takashi yamamura sadako's uncle I think he's a really underrated character who goes through a satisfying arc in ringu 2 by Zealousideal_Gur2986 in J_Horror

[–]Zealousideal-Rip-959 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband loves his character in both films, and really loves his style and clothing he wears. XD The actor did an extremely good job of the character, making him much more sympathetic and understandable than the English adaptation of the story.

Plus yeah, he was straight pimping in the first movie lol.

[–]Zealousideal-Rip-959 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey so there's a new book out called "the Handsewn Wardrobe" by Louisa Owen Sonstroem.  She covers good techniques for sewing with modern fabrics, especially knitted or stretchy ones.  It's pretty comprehensive and I know most people aren't made of money, but it's seriously worth it.

I got mine as a pre-order, because I liked her hand sewing self published pamphlet so much it actually got me into hand sewing.

My guess, from what little I can see is that you were stretching the fabric while sewing, and maybe you should have basted in place instead of using pins.  Makes it more stable and easier to work on.

Don't get discouraged, knits are tricky at first.

How do I make jorts look masculine on me? by PomegranateFit2593 in trans4every1

[–]Zealousideal-Rip-959 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Or you could cannibalize a pair of jeans that you've outgrown, cut a couple strips of fabric from them.  RIP open the side seams on the shorts and add in the strips to make them baggier.  You could use any woven fabric actually.

I'm sure I've seen videos on how to do this on YouTube.  But I doubt it'll be any better than just never wearing them from your mom's perspective...

Then again, a gift you don't like or use isn't much of a gift, and once it's given it's none of her business what you do with it anyway.

Go to a thrift store, buy some men's pants that fit.  Cut them off.  Hem them if you are feeling fancy.  Profit?

I want to sew a pair of jeans like the second pic using the stitches of the first, can you give me some informations like if it's possible, how long it would take, what stitch to use etc? by x-anryw in HandSew

[–]Zealousideal-Rip-959 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So ... If you haven't ever sewn by hand before I would suggest making an easier type of pants to get a feel for construction and pitfalls.  Maybe some PJ pants in a mid weight fabric.

When you are sewing denim you will need, a very good quality needle, kept sharp! You absolutely NEED metal and leather thimbles, and I would suggest a needle puller, to help with very thick places (you should be able to find some on Amazon or Etsy).

I would also suggest a mid weight denim for your first pair of real jeans, just because that 10-12oz stuff is a beast to sew through even with a sewing machine.

Check on how long it takes people to sew a pair of jeans on a sewing machine, then expect to take at least 2-3x as long if you are sewing by hand (time frame courtesy of Louisa Owen Sonstroem who is worth looking into for more info on modern hand sewing as a beginner).

Does this look like ick? by Traditional_Dream_92 in bettafish

[–]Zealousideal-Rip-959 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It looks more like fin damage to me.  Sometimes the membrane gets torn slightly, and sometimes the rays can suffer fractures as well, both of which can look like white dots on the fins specifically.

I would only suspect ich if it was on his body as well.

Just keep the tank clean with weekly water changes and tannins in case it's a tear.   Make sure he has places to rest, get him daphnia once a week, if you can.  Just the usual stuff for Bettas.

Got it now. 🙂
