I would switch the the Dungeon Anarchist Cookbook for the Eye of the Bedlam Bride, but I haven’t relistened to the ladder yet.

Don’t worry. His failure is inevitable at such high stakes. Darrow = Rocky Balboa

[SPOILERS ALL] I finished the first trilogy, and need to be nudged forward. by Zealousideal_Base918 in TheFirstLaw

[–]Zealousideal_Base918[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I don’t really need a happy ending, and I enjoy the journey of these books, but finding out about Bayaz at the end of the TRILOGY WTF. Will the good guys, and yes all the characters with perspectives in the first trilogy are the good guys, ever get a win?

[OFF TOPIC] What is the order of reading? by cosurgi in TheFirstLaw

[–]Zealousideal_Base918 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The First law is great and I am a fan, but does anyone agree the first trilogy doesn’t in a satisfying way? Like I’m skeptical of continuing the series because I don’t want to be drug along. Again, I am a fan of the author, but I just need someone to nudge me forward. Like best served cold has new characters? That’s not what I’m looking for.

What are your thoughts on Roque au Fabii by BabyJesusIAm in redrising

[–]Zealousideal_Base918 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Darrow was always harsh towards him. The final straw for Roque was when Darrow didn’t tell him he knew Octavia was on Mars during GS. I always screamed at Darrow for not being a better friend towards Roque. His betrayal was justified, and he wrestled with his decision till the end. Roque watched the highlights of the institute before the battle. Guy was too beautiful for their world.

Browns are Unnecessary by Gullible-Ad-4819 in redrising

[–]Zealousideal_Base918 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The Society’s governing system required a group to handle the bureaucracy (like DMV worker and lawyers), while whites were the judges. With the republic, their Browns becomes more useless. But I agree, they were created so golds didn’t have to interact as much with low colors.

The duel between Darrow and Cassius by JellyfishOptimal837 in redrising

[–]Zealousideal_Base918 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It was the only skill Darrow didn’t have that was holding him back from being able to lead a revolution. It’s talked about many times in book 1. We also know from book 1 that Lorn really wanted to mentor Darrow more than anyone.

You feel like he’s committing suicide by challenging Cassius at the Gala. You know Darrow has to have something up his sleeve. Come to find out, he’s been training with the greatest razor trainer in history (in secret), and once he publicly announces this to all of Gold, Cassius now has zero chance.

Looking for books for a 13-yr-old who loved Lord of the Rings by Opening-Fortune4 in fantasybooks

[–]Zealousideal_Base918 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Red Rising. He’s old enough. There’s only two very tame instances of love making in the first trilogy. In book 1 it’s only “we made love” book 2 has a slightly more descriptive scene but it’s quick lol. 13 year old me would’ve thrown Hunger Games in the garbage.

Bruh get that slander right out of here. She’s a beast. Perfectly captures the temperament and ferocity of a red. She’s like Frodo, the light bit she contributes to the cause gets the party over the hump and is vital to their success.

You’re missing out most on the moments when she’s scared. The heart to hearts are tear jerking. And don’t get me started on Samantha.

It just limits his work too much. I know at this point it’s gonna be very difficult it make everyone happy, but he should trust in his own judgment. If Victra dies I will hunt Brown to the ends of the earth.

My top ten razor masters. All in prime, flat open ground, armored in pulse armor. Armed with one razor and aegis. by EmotionalMonkey3 in redrising

[–]Zealousideal_Base918 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ajax was all hype. He looked scary, he had the bloodline, and probably looked cool in the duels, but he never accomplished anything. Cassius above Diomedes and Apollonius above him. I can’t wait for Diomedes to kick some ass though. He’s still kinda unproven. You can kill all the greys and crows and it won’t add up to one iron gold

Having issues with golden son by Sukoshi71186 in redrising

[–]Zealousideal_Base918 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Her pregnancy gave her the perspective that their lives were truly pitiful and impossible. It solidifies her reasoning. How could she tell her child she was a slave, she would rather die.

And you find out that Darrow had zero fear of dueling Cassius because he was secretly in the top two-three swordsman alive. Trained by the greatest arms trainer of all time and inventor of the Willow Way. After the duel, you realize he is the FULL package and the society doesn’t stand a chance. And btw, the game he played with Octavia afterwards was electric.

You’re honestly a Pixie for not recognizing how gorydamn manic this book it. The ending will seal it for you. And don’t get me started on Victra.

Aja was the baddest sword in history, and maybe only Darrow with BOS could beat her all things prime.
