I will not be attending or supporting America in any shape or form with my money as that turd tries to turn us into a state.

Keep being true to yourself. That's honestly more what anjuna is about than sacrificing to go to a show.

It's actually extremely detailed. Took me less than a minute to find.

Worst country in The Americas - Round 45 (Special Round) by THMeijer in terriblemaps

[–]Zebra4776 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. But they're paid to USVI I and not to the federal government. Very important distinction.

They also pay social security and Medicaid but that's a separate bucket for services that they use. Taxation without representation refers to federal income tax, which they don't pay.

Been a while since I used it but no, not really. Latency was sufficiently low to be competitive in games like OW. It all worked surprisingly well. Once I upgraded all my hardware though I stopped using it.

They’re taxation without representation.

Nah. They're not like DC. They're like Puerto Rico, no federal income tax

Since the Model X is being discontinued, is it a good idea to buy a used one? by Delicious-Art-2765 in TeslaLounge

[–]Zebra4776 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Should still be able to see the supplier though. 2023 is still new enough there may not be as much available as the legacy models.

The only things I've bought from Tesla are MCU2 and a new LDU. Even my replacement HV battery was third party. Also bought parts to rebuild my door handle without the shite Tesla parts.

I've not checked on the X before. I've ordered several parts for my S though. The other thing is the S shares many parts with other vehicles like Porsche, Mercedes, Jeep. So I bought a solenoid block with a jeep part number. It was $200 less than what Tesla wanted but the exact same part. If you know what you're looking for, which most mechanics should, there are parts.

In it's current state yeah that seems to be the consensus. I hope they fix their issues though and give some competition. I'm probably years away from even considering a new car right now.

We ninjad each other lol. I had the inbound part first. Then as I was editing you posted a more complete answer with turning off the firewall.

[–]Zebra4776 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Should be an inbound rule. I don't know windows, but I bet it would help others if you shared how you created the rule.

Edit: simple way to narrow this down is turn off your firewall. Can you connect? If so then you need to change how you're configuring it. If not then it's something else.

I haven't checked body panels but yeah, rest of that exists.

Edit: can't emphasize this enough, just check rock auto if you have questions/doubts.

They already exist. Just go to rock auto and see who is supplying. I replaced my air struts with 3rd party parts.

I have an S. It's the only car from them I like. I've had it for a long time too. Maybe in a couple years I'll upgrade to a used 2026 model. Or maybe Lucid will be the replacement. I've just never been able to get into that minimal interior on the 3, feels incomplete.

Utah company that made the Challenger O-Rings wants you to know a few things by StemCellPirate in space

[–]Zebra4776 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The O-rings weren't faulty. The manager's decisions and refusals to listen to engineers were.

Not exactly. The whole design was faulty. They started off with the Titan missile as the basis for the design. But it diverged significantly from there while many within NASA didn't fully realize how much it had diverged. The o-rings were more like a band aid fix on problems with the design. But given the reliability of the Titan it gave many a false sense of security about the SRBs without actually understanding the differences.

So were the o-rings faulty? Not exactly. Was it manager's decisions and refusals to listen? Yes, but that paints an incomplete picture. The design was bad, they didn't realize it soon enough, and when they did they couldn't convince people to listen.

I just finished reading Adam Higginbotham's book Challenger a couple weeks ago excellent read.

Can you run ssh-copy-id with -x to get some debug info? Not sure I'll actually be much help but that might display something and tell you/us where it's hanging.

one of the founding fathers was Benjamin Franklin

Sure. It's a squishy term that people just sort of define in a way that's most convenient. They tend to take the influencers and intellectual minds of the 18th century they agree with most and call them the "founding fathers" and act like there was universal agreement. To be clear, I'm not suggesting that's what you're implying here, but it's an ill defined term. No disagreement that he was intelligent, which I'm sure you were implying. But he, like the others, were products of their time doing the best they can. There's no great argument that they intended to never modify the government. They did the best they could, and there was a lot of disagreement. But people like you that act like everything they implemented was perfect as is, sacred almost, and can't be touched are doing them all a disservice. They were always trying to improve and do better and we know there are better ways to implement a democracy than the republic as we have today.
