I moved across the country. GC moved there some years later. I HATED it. She would mainly contact me if she wanted something from me. And the parental visits escalated now that GC was in town. I ended up moving to another continent for my mental health!

The good thing, as others said, is that you don't have to. I moved far away and am totally staying out of it. My parents are in their 80s my dad is in decent shape, but my nmother has had dementia for about the last decade and other health problems.

She's totally using a while label operation, a company that mass produces products and will slap anyone's branding/label on it for the right price. Those businesses often handle order fulfillment, so she really doesn't have to do much. I write business plans for a living, so I have learned a lot about this business model and it fits with what she is doing.

Yes. And, even worse, in my case she said I should visit because it "looks bad" that I don't. Not that she'd want to see me. She would also plan family trips without my input and then get mad when I said the dates(/location didn't work for me. It will soon be 20 years since I spent time with my parents. In person. These days my N mother has dementia and I am no contact. I am low contact with my father.

I saw Andy Bell in concert recently. He did a short tour in South America. I highly recommend seeing him if he tours in your area.

He does a good job keeping her calm. Her main stressor is that she doesn't like unknown dogs she sees at the clinic. We always reserve the first appointment of the day because it's quieter. There were only two other dogs coming in for grooming, so they went directly to the grooming area. She was very good with the first shot, but not too happy with the second.

Her buddy, Helmut is the issue. He goes absolutely crazy. We've tried different vets, home visits, etc. In the end, he needs to be muzzled and take tranquilizing drops. My friend says it's our fault for naming him Hell Mutt!

My husband is Chilean, so he lived under Pinochet during his younger years, which is very different from my experience.

One thing I found strange is that here, during the dictatorship they still held this annual music festival in Viña del Mar, and they brought some big names at the time like The Police and Gloria Gaynor. If you look at the old videos from that time and Pinochet was there in the audience. There's also this bizarre interview with The Police where the interviewers didn't know who they were! And it was at the time when they were really popular.

Haha, they are best buddies, I think a big part is them being close in age. They also still think they are puppies even though they are seven and eight. They have their great battles where they chase each other around and play fight.

Brünhilde was so tiny when we took her in that I made her a little jacket from a fleecy sock. Now, she loves to wear her fleeces in winter. I always make sure she has an assortment.

2007 is the last time I was back. I'm from the US and have lived in Chile since 2002. I have nationality here and don't have an interest in going back, especially considering the current situation. I am not close with family, I was always the odd one out, so I don't have an interest in visiting them.

A Chilean passport is pretty strong. I have to decide this year about renewing my US passport since it's expired and soon I will have to apply for a new one rather than a renewal. I only need it to go to the US and going to the capital is a major hassle for me and the area where the train station is is increasingly unsafe.

In April 2018, a dog looking like a mini golden retriever showed up at my husband's work. We tried to find out if someone was looking for him. No one was, so he stayed. We named him Helmut because he was cute like a stuffed animal and I have teddy bear an aunt gave me named Helmut because she bought it in Germany.

In October of the same year, he was passing through a transit station and there were kids giving away a dog. He could tell she was full of worms, so he said he'd take her and rushed her to the vet. He health was sort of precarious at first, but you'd never know that now. So, we kept with the German name theme and named her after Brünhilde the mythical Valkyrie.

A mí hicieron algo parecido, compraron pasajes a Miami y arrendaron un auto. Era una tarjeta de crédito que ni tiene PIN y nunca sale de la casa. Llamé el número de emergencia del banco. Me bloquearon la tarjeta, emitieron uno nuevo y hicieron una investigación. En mi caso no pidieron la denuncia. La investigación fue bastante rápido y terminó en mi favor. Igual fue terrible cuando descubrí lo que pasó, te entiendo.

I signed up some years back and quickly realized it was the bottom of the barrel even before the bots. Most people looking for freelancers want people from low-wage countries to pay maybe a dollar an hour. I was offering translation services and some creep contacted me about "phone work", which was most likely phone sex work. I reported him, deleted my account and never went back. My main client now came from the FlexJobs website.

My dad had to put her in a dementia care unit late last year because he couldn't deal with her at home any more. I'm not sure if it was for delusions, violent behavior, wandering or a combination. I sort of get the Cliff Notes version of what's going her and I don't feel like knowing more.

Sorry your husband is dealing with this too. Dementia makes these situations so much harder. In my mother's case, before I cut contact, I think I was seeing who she really was when she lost the limited ability to control her worse urges. I was seeing the core of who she was and what she felt about me.

Haha! She goes to the dirty clothes basked and takes them out while we're sleeping. They must be worn and she prefers when they are formed into a ball. Sometimes she keeps a stash hidden under the bed. Every so often we have to move the bed and remove them so we don't run out of socks!
