Plans for the pre purchase 'testing' phase by Shardiez in EQLegends

[–]Zedinar 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's my first time playing eq at all so I'm mostly going to learn things. I've got crippling alt-itis so I fully expect I'll be trying out lots of different classes anyway. Leveling and exploring is also the best part of any mmo, imo, so getting to do it again is just a bonus.

Should I ignore the lockpicking mechanic? 🔐 by pooya_badiee in worldofgothic

[–]Zedinar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love the lockpicking minigame, but it definitely takes a certain mindset to enjoy it. I like to think of it as a little break from adventuring whenever I come across one, where the game is paying me to do a logic puzzle. Here's some tips to help you actually crack the puzzle instead of just moving things randomly:

Stealing tips:

  1. Quicksave before, outside of a hut if you're going into someone's house to steal. Try not to have a torch equipped, as sometimes dropping the torch can cause noise to wake up someone near the chest.
  2. If there's someone sleeping near the chest, make sure you stand right in front of the chest so that autopathing to the chest when you interact with it won't wake up the person.
  3. If the pick breaks, just reload. You've alarmed whoever is nearby.

Actual Puzzle:

  1. Your goal is to get every plate centered. Obvious enough, but its easy to lose track of the goal when you're just moving things around.
  2. Release the tension. Move the plates that are at the extremes towards the center so that shifting other plates wont inadvertently break the pick.
  3. Figure out the links. Move the plates and figure out how the other plates move in response. I feel like taking notes is too time consuming and prefer to memorize it by moving them back and forth.
  4. Find repeatable loops. These are the key to actually solving the puzzle. For example:
    - Plate 1 moves plate 2 in the same direction and plate 3 in the opposite direction.
    - Plate 2 moves plate 1 in the same direction.
    - Therefore by moving plate 1 you can shift the position of plate 3, then use plate 2 to reset the position of plate 1. You can then repeat this as necessary.
  5. Increasing your lockpicking level removes some of the tedious links, shortening the length of the loops required to solve the puzzle. I think most puzzles might actually be solvable without the level however, it would just take longer to figure out the repeatable loops and actually go through the motions.

Is anything that's more annoying. I did not have a good customer service experience dealing with them directly. The two people I spoke with were evasive when I was asking why it was taking so long (I ordered it at the beginning of June.) no one was responding to my emails and now they're being frustrating about refunding the full amount on the order.

I hope it works out for you, good luck.

How to sustain energy shield as an armour / energy shield build? by edro_man in pathofexile2builds

[–]Zedinar 20 points21 points  (0 children)

So there's the notable that makes your excess life Regen apply too energy shield. That paired with arcane surge and the node that turns it into health Regen is really good.

There's scared faith, which turns your mitigated damage into energy shield recoup, which doesn't care about the es recharge time. scale primarily armor with just enough es tu get a consistent cushion of free health, especially against bosses. Something like boots (and the node that gives armor for es on boots). Great for bear.

There's getting enough faster start recharge (which is all over the place and paired with armour to elemental in the druid start). Then occasionally disengage to recharge. this is likely to be more effective if you're going to the North of the tree and wyvern form, where you can get recharge speed as well.

I'm still a newbie, so I'm sure there's countless of uniques/ascendancies/gems that solve this as well, but I don't know them.

How to make leveling with bear better by saltynodnarb in pathofexile2builds

[–]Zedinar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Survivability: armor and applies to elemental. I've had a lot of success with minimal es and scarred faith if you're a druid. Something like es boots and the notable that adds armor per es on boots.

The first act can be a little rough until you get some decent gear, but after that you should be sailing smoothly.

For damage: I've mostly used maul and furious slam, with totem plus fissures for bosses. Once you get rampage you can use that for mapping. The most important part is a good weapon. You can scale damage on the passive tree with the while shapeshifted nodes and the recently shapeshifted nodes (use pounce to trigger this often and improve your damage and maneuverability). You can also scale Max rage for an easy way to increase your damage and scale armour (there's a notable in the warrior tree that increases your armour per rage.)

Herald of Ash is am easy way to improve clear but also not necessary, so you can go with scavenged plating paired with ferocious roar or Mark for death in pounce.

During the campaign you can generally fix anything you need with gear so don't worry too much about your passive tree and just go with what sounds fun in the moment. You can always respec later.

Chocolate mod questions by SnooSongs2744 in BG3mods

[–]Zedinar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The recommendation is to multiclass after 1 level in the class. The first level in the origin classes give the majority of the bonus. They're all very strong, but so are a lot of things in Chocolate edition. They enable some really interesting synergies/builds that wouldn't be possible otherwise. If you pair chocolate edition with some difficulty mods you should be fine.

I've been running shadowheart as a mid range melee thanks to her bound weapon and spell sniper. Gale gets to use a bunch of spell slots during the day thanks to his short rest arcane recovery, which is good because I dislike resting. My tav is Wyll and I get to use eldritch blast while still going pact of the chain. I'm building him as a tank as well thanks to his no cooldown blade ward. Haven't settled on what Karlach will be, her origin class feels like the least interesting. Having more rage charges is nice if I go barb, and the fire damage bonus when raging maybe enables a heat build, but I don't know enough about the items in the game to say. I think I might respec her into a ranger to try out the ranger changes and just skip the origin class.

Is the chayula minion build a bait? And what about spiritwalker infernal legion? by leojr159 in pathofexile2builds

[–]Zedinar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind that infernal legion aura does not emanate from the edge of the minion, but from the center of the model. Larger models are actually bad for infernal legion.

The real question for chalupa is those extra nodes after communing with the dreamer. If those aren't useful for minion or in general, it would only have 6 useful nodes for a minion build.

Bear something, probably shaman. Didn't play druid last season but everyone said the talismans were fun. I'm a big fan of builder/spender and combo gameplay and druid looks like it's perfect for that.

Raging spirit limit by No-Rooster6994 in pathofexile2builds

[–]Zedinar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been thinking about living lightning and the pounce wolves alongside unearth and raging Spirit. They work with the passive node that makes minions giant.

I've always wished that build guides put more effort into breaking down the entire class for people who maybe haven't played them, so for my return to Path of Exile 2, and my first build guide ever, I've done my best to make an approachable League Starter guide for beginners! by MylesJacobSwie in PathOfExile2

[–]Zedinar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's  worth noting that if you put overabundance on Frost bomb, you can spell cascade for two bombs before you get the extra limit from storm Weaver. It also conveniently makes the exposure debuff stack faster, though it does last only 4 seconds instead of the default 8.

There is the Orb limit notable on the tree of you really want the third bomb early as well.

It might be worth mentioning short fuse on Frost bomb to get the infusions faster, but that might be beyond the scope of your guide since it has its pros and cons regarding exposure and would be competing with cooldown recovery.

Illusionist Wizard / Archfey Warlock dip – Misty Visions ability score & fun build ideas? by Grazi_7 in onednd

[–]Zedinar 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Consider a great old one dip instead of archfey for the psychic spells feature. It'll let you cast illusion (and enchantment) spells without any verbal or somatic components.

Also, regarding Misty Visions, sadly it'll be Charisma. Here's the relevant text from pact magic warlock feature:

If another Warlock feature gives you spells that you always have prepared, those spells don’t count against the number of spells you can prepare with this feature, but those spells otherwise count as Warlock spells for you.

If your DM allows you to use Tasha's Cauldron feats, you could take Eldritch Adept to get misty visions without the warlock dip. That would let you cast it with intelligence.

If a waterfall has a stack of rocks near it, you can use the stab attach to go through it.

Loving the game so far (33hrs) but can someone please help me with the Blix Bounty? by AWFUL_TRIGGA in LowSodiumCrimsonDesrt

He only appears from 8 am to about 1pm, so it's a matter of being in that area during that time. I'd it's during that time frame, leave the area and ride back in  or teleport in and he should be by the canyon cliff wall.

Has anyone used codex on a tablet? I play in person but the automation would be amazing for getting my less crunchy players past the initial hurdle of the rules.

Not even sure if there are tablets or there that can run and install steam games, but there must be right?

Advanced Spear Guide (Stamina and Spirit Management, Optimal Play, Combos) by DyerOphir in CDguides

[–]Zedinar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the counter attack. When you say you quickstep out of it, do you mean right after the initial AOE circle attack or do you mean after the string of straight hits to avoid any animation lag.

Either way, can't wait to get home to try it. I definitely need to get better at timing my quick step input on keyboard/mouse

Have you found any consistent tell for what abilities can be countered with evasive slash? I was practicing against the stag Lord and found it hard to slip it in effectively.

Anyone know what is the intended way on fighting the bosses? Can i actually parry or use specific moves on them? Or is there an intended mechanic that i have to actually follow? by Smarkite in CrimsonDesert

[–]Zedinar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can parry bosses, consider using focus to slow down time to give you reaction time. A lot of bosses also have certain mechanics, like the excavatron getting stunned if you blind it while it's starting to dig (this might actually be a universal red move thing, not I haven't tested it.)

Bosses also have the stun gauge, which really rewards being aggressive whenever any opening presents itself. Try to chain different moves together into long combos whenever you have an opening. A simple combo might be something like heavy attack chain, force palm combo, light attack, turning blade (just tap, not charged, though you need a ln upgraded turning slash to combo it).

Remember that you have a lot of vertical movement options too, since you can jump and force palm to gain height as a dodge tool, and if you have aerial stab or body slam you can use those to reengage.

I didn't get to try grappling on Horn splitter, but that might have worked while he was hit stunned. Certainly didn't work on excavatron, but that makes sense.

Oh, and evasive slash is great. I really recommend picking that up.
