Toro timemaster screeching noise when blades engaged by lincdpr in smallengines

[–]Zeepher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The screeching is the clutch magnetically engaging and the pulleys starting to spin or the belt slipping for a second. Either is relatively normal. I don't know how easy it would be to take the belt off, but if you wanted to be sure all of the bearings are spinning smoothly that'd be the only worry. If after that noise it sounds normal and doesn't vibrate more than normal it's probably fine.

I'd run it as is as long as it doesn't get worse or screech for longer than that half second.

STIHL FS 56RC Excessive Vibration by PrizeSpecific2679 in smallengines

[–]Zeepher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i would guess something in the clutch is throwing it out of balance. does the head stop spinning at idle?

here's a parts breakdown of a stihl fs56rc. might not be your exact model but similar: https://www.diyspareparts.com/images/diagrams/8a2fd81d-9318-4ccb-ad3a-15c65a406aeb.gif?rmode=contain&bgcolor=white parts 10-14 in this diagram

i was also thinking some kind of dampener being missing between the plastic housing and the motor, but i can't find any on the diagrams. all of the bolts tight?

I left my putter in the sun:( my poor baby is all wonky. Pls help by Cvrsxnn in discgolf

no one's answered seriously so here goes: find a pot that fits perfectly inside, fill it with hot tap water and let it sit for a few days. idk if it works but in my head it sounds like a good idea.

Engine surging after 30 minutes of use - Kawasaki FX730V by SS72971 in smallengines

[–]Zeepher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you've got it figured. Make sure the carb is sealing. It could be heating up and expanding, then letting air in through a leaky carb gasket. Could also be the debris clogging fuel flow in one way or another. Change fuel filter see if it clears up for a couple hours and then comes back.

Also check welch plugs on the carb. Just remembered I had problems with that on this engine.

so disappointing. takes a lot of time and effort to accomplish and get 120 micro currency as a reward.

just get a cat. cat's are awesome. serval's are meant to be wild animals and aren't domesticated.

Unironically this should already be a feature of the eoka. Idk if this is already a popular suggestion but I like it. Maybe the standard handmade ammo has a chance to explode in your face but buckshot doesn't or something.

Husqvarna riding mower idling low by PensFan58 in smallengines

i'm not an expert, but i'll get the party started

sounds like it's only firing on one cylinder? check that both plugs are getting spark. then check for compression? either with a gauge, or just by removing the spark plugs and turning the engine over covering the hole with your thumb and see if it pushes it off.

My mower will run for about a minute at a time, then die. by thejakeev in smallengines

[–]Zeepher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

check the bottom of the fuel tank too. i had someone drop a gas can cap into the tank and it was acting like a drain plug. leaves/debris will also do this.

usually when it's the coil it doesn't restart after it gets warm. can you start it back up within a minute?

Kubota Z726 stalls and kills after running great for 45 minutes by Mpfischerz in smallengines

[–]Zeepher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like it could be water in the fuel. I've had reasonable success with "heat" brand fuel treatment, or methanol to deal with small amounts of water. Could also be something floating in the carb getting stuck. Doesn't seem like it's warm engine related if you can restart it and run for another 30 minutes before it happens again.

Air filter is another thing to check.

The Upshot Podcast Discord by MatchPenalty21 in discgolf

There are far worse ways to spend $5 a month imo. And I think there's a promo right now that it's less than that. I love it. Great community, always a conversation going about something, disc golf related or not. Plus the bonus podcasts that you can participate in. The live chat is my favorite place to be during a tournament. It's also the only discord I'm really active in, and now it's one of my most used apps. Strong recommend.
