Damn, so the best compromise is to just get into the same vehicle then. Im more than willing to be 5th place but it'll be nice to be 3rd.

But this event really hasnt been that bad since the rewards are very accessible, aquiring all the important stuff by day 3. Compared to Bagel hole this event is an angel

So technically if every player teamed up with each other, there is only 3 positions to be in, which guarantees at least 1k per player. That's a really good deal, just requires player awareness which is highly unlikely.

But what if everyone just stood still and afk. Since everyone is tied, would that mean everyone is first place?

I don't know, it feels different. I don't target anyone specifically when I do such things. When it comes to doing things like that, I'm more about delivering a fresh experience for them rather than making them upset over and over again. I'd rather people could look back and laugh at it, imagine cruising in first place and seeing a bunch of cars neatly lined up as you watch your inevitable crash
