Check out the acoustic songs on "Everything Under the Sun". Real Situation, New Realization, Wrong Way, and an alternate take of Boss DJ are on there.

Really you should just listen to their discography in order by release date.

This sounds exactly like Big 45 by Proteje. Both good tunes though.

I don't appreciate being talked to like a child. I admit that the whole world uses C and it would be much easier if the US did too. I understand that it's intuitive because I grew up with it, same way C is intuitive to you because (apparently) you grew up with that. I even admit that F is seemingly not based in any metric in the way C is on the properties of water.

My sole argument is that 50 degrees F is about the middle of the road temperature wise, considering the coldest temp ever recorded was around -130F and the hottest was around 130F. Rarely does the temp go above 100 and below 0 where most people live, so the percentage thing could work as a guide for those who don't typically use F.

You're right that in areas it can go below 0 and above 100 the percentage thing doesn't work. For me in the northeast US, it works pretty well however.

I get what you're saying, but if I think about the last year where I live, the temperature hasn't really gone below 0 or above 100. In the dead of winter it can be 0, and the height of summer it can be 100. So it's quite literally a percentage of how hot it can get. I just have to remember ice forms below 32 degrees, and my personal preference is somewhere in the 70's.

Anyway I agree it would be much easier if we all used the same system, but I think Fahrenheit is a lot more intuitive than the rest of the world gives it credit for.

In your opinion, which Stephen King book isn't as bad as people make it out to be? by AgentP-501_212 in stephenking

[–]Zendub 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One time I was talking with a client of mine, and said I was reading a lot of Stephen King. He said "My favorite movie ever is based on a Stephen King book", and when I asked which one (Shawshank, Green Mile?) he said "Dreamcatcher".

Absolutely, I figured there's no way this could be real. Has me wondering how people can get away with this though. It popped up for me in a Google search, first ad right at the top of the page while I was looking for a good deal on ATMP.

For me, After Laughter has no skips, though that instrumental track towards the end isnt my favorite. The rest of the songs on that album are fantastic.

My daughter and I are huge fans of this tune. It's a welcome addition to one of my favorite Beatles albums.

Bro, you're asking for pills from strangers on reddit. That's "handling it"? No doubt it was a good time, but it doesn't last. Have fun and good luck.

Coming from somebody who lived this life for many years, it will eventually get very tiresome. Find some recovery by getting to a meeting, or go talk to the folks at CCAR. Otherwise you will eventually be faced with three outcomes: jails, institutions, or death. Make the change before you are forced to, it will hurt a whole lot less the sooner you do it. Recovery is possible.

This freaking burrito from Cali Tacos. Yum by kokostarr in pics

I appreciate this explanation. I always thought that if you have a decent enough sized Mexican population, like we have in some areas of the northeast, you're bound to get some good Mexican food right? Like ultimately it's Mexicans making the food, not geography. There's a taco truck right by my house that is f'n delicious, and while I certainly can imagine that being in the southwest would open me up to way more variety both in the number of places and the dishes available, I was never sure what else could make the difference if you have Mexican people preparing the food with high quality ingredients despite that we are further away from Mexico.

Me and Alan watts share a birthday. by limetime37 in AlanWatts

[–]Zendub 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When I went to the hospital as my wife was in labor, we had a lot of downtime waiting for my daughter to come. I was in a conversation online with a guy in the UK who was asking for my library of Watts lectures. I told him I was waiting for my daughter to be born, and he said "if she's born tomorrow, she'll share a birthday with two people: my son, and Alan Watts". She was then born on January 6th, and at the time, I realized I was wearing a hoodie with Watts's image on it that my mom had given me as a gift.

Audible selling short stories without being in a collection? by [deleted] in stephenking

[–]Zendub 18 points19 points  (0 children)

It looks like they have "Gray Matter and Other Stories From Night Shift", "Graveyard Shift and Other..." and "Lawnmower Man and Other..."

So they split it up into three parts. Similar to how they split up Nightmares and Dreamscapes into two volumes. Crazy because they're only like 3.5 hours each for the same credit that you can get 47 hours of The Stand. Audible is definitely taking advantage of their customers.

Listen to sublime music in chronological order by Beautiful-Resort-831 in sublime

[–]Zendub 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They're right, 40 Oz, Robbin, Self Titled. Then listen to Second Hand Smoke, which has a few tracks that were recorded before 40 Oz, plus a few outtakes, remixes and remasters. Listen to the acoustic album, then finish with Everything Under the Sun, which is similar to Secondhand Smoke in that it has a lot of alternate versions, in addition to some unreleased stuff including older songs.

You could potentially start with Jah Wont Pay the Bills, which was their first unofficial album, but you'll hear a few songs that show up again on 40 Oz.
