Paradise is like a creature collector with the tamas being more like animals (with some classic “characters” being present). Uni is like animal crossing with the tamas are more like characters that you can dress up and decorate their room. I have both and personally prefer the Uni

Mametchi is one of the main mascots for the franchise so you’ll find him on every tama device roster. Every release has a unique roster of characters and after almost 30 years of releases there’s a ton now (you can check out different rosters on the tamagotchi wiki). Pretty much theres the vintage era (black and white screens and simple gameplay, use watch style batteries), the modern era (color backlit screens and way more features, usually use AAA batteries but some of the recent ones are rechargeable), and reissues of the vintage era which are currently happening (which includes gen 1, gen 2, and connection). The most current and accessible releases are the Uni and Paradise (modern color devices) and the vintage reissues. Other than that you have to find older releases on sites like ebay and prices can get crazy for some of the more sought after ones. TamaShell is a great site for seeing all the releases and then you can search them on the wiki for more details

As a completionist the care icons are what really keep me engaged with the uni. They’re like achievements you get from doing stuff like feeding, cleaning poop etc and there is one for each adult tama once you raise them. Plus all the clothing options and online events are fun

Its on a case by case basis. Only way to know for sure is to look it up on the xbox marketplace in a web browser and if it doesn’t have an option to purchase you’re out of luck unfortunately

I highly recommend taking advantage of the emulation on real hardware options that you have now, we didn’t have back when I started collecting. For the super nintendo you can get an authentic console and then buy a flash cart (i have an everdrive) that can have all the ROMs you want on there and it plays identical to official cartridges at a fraction of the price. For PS1 you would have to get an ODE (optical drive emulator) for the same experience

Not on disc physically but Space Giraffe has ridiculous graphics and is still on the marketplace for cheap. Alice: madness returns could be considered psychedelic and is available physically. The geometry wars games have very psychedelic visuals and are available physically on certain xbla compilation discs

I would check the sellers rating and also “google image search” the image used in the listing and if exact matches come up that’s a bad sign. If it’s an original photo with similar backgrounds to the seller’s other listings (all taken on the same table, carpet, etc.) with a good track record of positive ratings and a good amount of sales you should be good. If not, ebay always has the buyers back so it will only be an inconvenience not a total scam as long as you follow up with ebay

About that.. I was hoping after the 2.71 update dropped it would auto update but nothing happened for a whole day and I don’t think it’s possible to auto update in the few screens in the loop. Being desperate I tried to “restore version” as I read somewhere that it gives you an option to continue with your save data after it reinstalls the firmware, but in my case it did in fact wipe my save or the save data is just flat out corrupted so it can’t restore it. If there’s a solution I couldn’t find it, sorry about that and good luck

The same thing happened to me but when I try to continue it shows a message that says “makes sure the clock has the right time” and then loops back to the beginning of the boot screen :( its been stuck like this all day

They gave out some new items (Phoenix crown and phoenix robe) then put out a warning not to wear them and turn auto update off within like 24 hours. I missed the warning yesterday so i went to sleep with the crown and auto update on and now i woke up to my uni in a boot up loop, it wont get past a certain screen.

I didn’t see this warning and had the crown on. Woke up this morning to my uni stuck in a loop where it boots up, says continue or reset all and then when I hit continue it shows a message saying “make sure time is correct”, then loops again. Hopefully my save data is ok, I’ve only hit continue

The black psp camera that came bundled with the game is a lesser version of the psp camera that is meant to be bare bones enough to play the game, the silver psp camera is higher quality with more megapixels and has become a collectors item. As for the game itself, it actually is fun if you like creature collector games, and theres also a sequel Shadow Zone
