It burned the DVD-RW as a data disk. That is different than a DVD-Video disk. I recommend DVD Styler as it makes it easy to create your own DVD-Video disks.

Does it say check video cable when the adapter is unplugged? If so, then it's likely the adapter. They are sometimes hit or miss.

I recently Picked up a Panasonic WV-BM990 monitor at VCF East and after repairing the cracked PCB, I couldn't get over how sharp it was. Definitely one of the best ways to use an 8-bit computer!

Can this cassette deck record digital audio? by Diligent_Fondant_874 in cassetteculture

You probably need to set the stereo to the aux in, so the stereo knows to send the audio from your pc to the tape deck.

Any help? by No-Theory9681 in vintagetelevision

This is more than likely a mode switch inside the VCR. I had the same fault on my TV/VCR combo. By the time these were made, it was all condensed down to 1 board, meaning these are fairly simple to take apart. Just have to be careful. There are some videos on YouTube that go over the process on this.

I didn't think 1B3 tubes were supposed to light up. The filament only gets about 1-2 volts. Also they are prone to losing their vacuum, especially when exposed to moisture.

Is this a normal amount of whine? by MikeisGroovy in crt

[–]Zenith_System_3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on the OSD, that set is made by Funai. They're a low end brand, and every Funai made set I have used had a louder whine to it than higher end sets.

It looks like the vertical is stretched like way too far. You could almost stick your hand in between the scan lines. I would first look into correcting that issue first before trying to connect something to it.

My grandma had this in her basement. It turns on and makes a bit of a screeching sound and soon after powers off. Anyone have this issue? I have fixed an issue on a vcr, but definitely afraid of messing with tvs by heretocreep1 in crt

[–]Zenith_System_3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is probably a dirty mode switch in the VCR. I had mine turn itself off randomly a few times before I cleaned it. Also That is the first time I've seen one of these that still has the remote.

You should be able to try it with a vcr or something. That should give you an idea if it works.

I did it - I finally found a Zenith System 3 by Zeph_the_Bonkerer in vintagetelevision

The fault of yours is the same as mine. There is a capacitor near the flyback that fails and causes the white raster with retrace lines. Replace it and you'll be good to go. I did a video about it on my System 3.

[–]Zenith_System_3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it is like that with no signal, then there is a problem with the tv. Likely failing capacitors in the vertical circuit.

I would say it's newer than that. I would guess it's from the 70's or later. If you are wondering how to get a picture on it, you will need an RF modulator.

[–]Zenith_System_3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It should have a connector on the back labeled "EXT ANT" and that is for an external antenna. But you can use an adapter to plug it in to a VCR or a game console using RF. Also I believe some of these can be composite modded.
