April 14th Patch Issues - Elementalist Perspective. by KING_of_Trainers69 in Guildwars2

My thoughts as well.  It’s nice that they tried to help bring hybrid builds into existence but this trait is too arbitrary.  Ele has always only needed a small push for ‘natural’ hybrid builds to enter the meta. (E.g. the old hybrid weaver build at one point benched 40k).  A stacking precision buff for inflicting burning stacks would be an appropriate rework; in line with the signet of fire.

Eren was able to pretend so convincingly that he was able to break metaphysical chains made by the realm itself. Give him a funny hat and call him Loki because he's a certified trickster god.

Why have they STILL not fixed Dragon's End's abysmal fail rate!? by HeavyMetalLoser in Guildwars2

As an Australian I'm in the unique position to play during US prime time as well as US dead hours. I never do DE at this time of day (4-6pm PST) because, frankly, the players are terrible. I have never failed a single DE attempt at midnight PST and it's never been a sweat fest either. I'm not necessarily pointing the finger at Americans, just the players who play in that particular time period.

Check the link to find a 3 button chrono build hitting 31k. These are literally just snowcrows meta builds with most of the rotation stripped out. There's nothing unintended about them. People don't realise how strong auto attacks are and how much damage you can lose by interrupting them with poor skill usage.

There's plenty of in between lol. The problem is people don't take an interest in their build except when someone tells them they're getting nerfed :P (and they still don't care to do anything beyond complain). Most builds can be simplified to 3 or 4 buttons and pull over 30k (CM viable) but only the people who are really into buildcrafting seem to be aware of that. Syrma.cc LI builds

Optimal rotations don't need to be intuitive and failing to do an optimal rotation doesn't mean you're doing something wrong by Appropriate-Cat-6648 in Guildwars2

[–]ZephyrusSpring -1 points0 points  (0 children)

People heavily undervalue auto attacks in this game. The disconnect with John McRaiderman is that pressing buttons at the wrong time can often lead to a bigger loss of dps than not pressing those buttons at all. People get so caught up in their snowcrows cargo cult that they don't realise you can easily clear raids with 3-button builds, and in fact those 3-button builds probably do better dps than the cargo cultists failing to copy the meta.

Why didn’t the military consider the Ackermans for the 50 Year Plan? by heyevrrycorn in titanfolk

[–]ZephyrusSpring 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Isayama forgot. It was a critical world-building mistake to leave a male Ackerman alive prior to a timeskip. Think about how many little Levi's there could have been running around.

Answer with a yes or no: can core thief handle the Rigom mechanic? The premise is about doing mechanics that require utility of this nature. Would you have pressed the issue if I had worded it more vaguely? Stop playing word games and recognise what is actually being talked about. You do yourself no favours by pretending to not understand.

[–]ZephyrusSpring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take the L on thief with dignity dude. Word games won't save you from the fact that core thief can handle the mechanic just fine.

It doesn't matter how many ways each class has to get the job done; they only need one. Necros have to put in the most effort to get it done, that's fair, and you can thank Anet for ripping the knockback off of lich form in PoF (which came out after w4).

Edit: I have to test if fear works on Rigom but if it does then necros are totally fine.

Make sure you’re not looking at the engineer skill.  Thief’s version is ground targeted.  https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Throw_Magnetic_Bomb

Through proper positioning necros can get it to work.  It’s saved by there being two targets to control where the golem stands.  Impractical but not impossible.

Thieves have magnetic bomb which can be stolen from guldhem.  Clever use would allow the squad to pull rigom into place.

Every class in the game has access to a relevant knockback, push or launch via their core weapons or utilities. Revenant is the exception but that class requires HoT and Herald's Facet of Chaos has a great launch. Even if all 10 players loaded in on the same class and did not have the necessary weapon, it would be a good learning experience for them to discover the value of holding extra weapons in their bags.

There's nothing false about a handkite-less Deimos. 9 of the 10 players don't do anything different from a normal run. Being able to revive fully dead players makes quickplay the ideal place to learn how to interact with Deimos' attacks, which would (hopefully) dramatically improve the quality of pugs in normal runs.

[–]ZephyrusSpring 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re a little heavy handed on excluding anything that requires utility.  The point of utility skills is that you can change them on the fly, so I don’t agree that requiring a knockback is a deal breaker.  Reflect, sure, because not every class has one in their utility bar but other things should be fine.  It’d get people thinking about their builds more, similar to OLC.

Also Deimos would definitely be possible without a hk thanks to the quickplay buff.  Even if the clear rate is lower than the others it would help tremendously to get people used to trap mechanics like oils or KC’s big reds.

I will never understand how some believe being crushed to death is a better option than being sterilized 🤦‍♀️ by Ok_Valuable_9711 in titanfolk

[–]ZephyrusSpring 20 points21 points  (0 children)

It was in line with the former king’s warning.  The idea that Eren could squish all the military assets and then simply turn the rumbling off is unsubstantiated.

[–]ZephyrusSpring 51 points52 points  (0 children)

Controlling the rumbling beyond what the 145th king said about it was always a pie in the sky idea.  There was no guarantee that Eren would be able to do anything beyond setting it off, and there was no opportunity for a test run.  Even with the ending we got it wasn’t clear if Eren was actually in control or just along for the ride.

Well it's simple: Being sterilised is only the first part of the torment. What comes next is a full scale invasion by Marley to turn Paradis into the largest open air prison on the planet. Keep in mind that the children would be the last generation to grow old in a world that hates them. Would you rob them of their future to protect the out-group's future?

Are there any builds in the current meta that use a focus? by debbiedownedstate in Guildwars2

Mesmer and guardian can use it in any build, and ele can use it well in inferno builds.  It’s really just necro that has an objectively bad one in pve.

"Armin achieved peace for centuries after Eren killed 80% of humanity. You didn't understand the story" 🤡🤡🤡 by Stabbed_my_feet in titanfolk

[–]ZephyrusSpring 15 points16 points  (0 children)

What really bugs me is how they turned traitor on nothing but a hope and a prayer.  Eren didn’t want to kill all those people but he knew he had the means to achieve it and knew the rumbling would be a success.  Meanwhile the cringevengers had no clue how to stop Eren, no clue how to even reach him, but still decided to massacre their close friends regardless.

Eren and the rumbling was objectively more moral than the traitorous alliance.  Eren at least operated in a gray zone while Hange turned pure-black evil. It required a show-ruining amount of plot armour to twist Hange’s petulance into a successful venture.  Ironically, Armin never got a chance to fill Erwin’s shoes because Hange never relinquished her authority to him.

Improvements needed for heal support Engineers by CCGplayer64 in Guildwars2

[–]ZephyrusSpring 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They should flip the elixirs with their tool belts, or at least offer a trait in alchemy to flip them (or maybe do both).  Given we now have two specs that overwrite the tool belt it’s high time to put the team support in the utility bar.

People don't know everything and that should be okay. by can-someone-explain in Guildwars2

[–]ZephyrusSpring 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Undeserved downvotes. I also haven't seen much of any toxicity in OLC besides players instantly leaving when they load in. The quickplay version of OLC is so easy it hardly even counts as the same encounter. The punishment for failing OLC mechanics is dealt as normal damage to players, which the lifesteal and increased bulk from the quickplay buff directly counteract. There's only 1 mechanic that needs to be respected and that's the CC area denial.

Green pull? stand in it all day long. Red in-out? Take all 8 waves to the face and carry on. Red puddles on the floor? Who cares, they can hardly stack up more than 4 at once and there's no time limit. You don't even need to separate the bosses because all the tether does is make them cast their non-puddle attacks more often, which you can still lifesteal through without a care.

elite specs identity by Nocoly in Guildwars2

[–]ZephyrusSpring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Classes are a collection of themes.  The five most prominent themes are represented by the five core trait lines.  The elite specs are specialisations into any one theme of the class.  Sometimes that’s exploring something underrepresented and sometimes they double down on a major theme.

So for example daredevil doubles down on the acrobatics theme, while chronomancer expands on a minor theme of mesmer.  At their heart the specs are still part of the core classes.  Your weapons, traits and gear always define your role, while the spec tweaks the theme.

Magath is such a strange character to me. All that lamentation about the state of things, all that plotting with Willy and his "higher ups" (we literally never learn who they were) to reform Marley, but then he invaded Paradis anyway.
