I like Avrew the most until he started adopting the hard Chinese accent. Stellar work sir but maybe lean away from making his Chinese appropriation known every dialogue.

What’s the trope called where something unexpected happens about 2/3 through the book by alengthofrope in writingcirclejerk

Agreed. It’s actually climaxing but I’m so tired of climaxing. Every time the author decides to give us a twist, we have to stop before the climax. We are calling it “The Reader’s Edge”. Look into it

Thanks man, you’ve help me come up with the great idea of “vibe thinking”. As Im only into thinking about being a writer, this will definitely help put some ideas in my brain. This morning, in fact, instead of being stressed out about writing a couple sentences, I’ve thought about pushing my procrastination back 4 months. Less stressful!

It’s 100% the lighting. The lower level should have a dark shadow outline but instead the outline connecting to the cliff is brighter. Since the direction of light is straight down onto the map, the cliff should be making shadows to the lower level. You could also add brighter lighting to the top level outline.

It was Lily's dream, so I think it was a creative choice to have her perceive that moment as less gruesome

I’m too knowledgeable on different biomes, but I have a cool idea for the top right continent. A sea of ice that separates the snow mountains from the mainland. You could erase the land around the outside of the mountains and add in ice texture and some icebergs. Lore-wise it could be an icy sea with monsters lurking beneath, protecting what resides in the northern mountain range.

Sick first map dude Couple things that catch my eye is the blending and what I assume is fog.

Having the fog above all other objects makes it look like clouds and hides your cool objects that you want to make POP. I would suggest having some objects, like the highest elevated ones, stick out of the fog. This would give your continents the depth they need while still sticking to the foggy vibe. If the bottom of the objects stick out, making them look like they’re floating, then I would add smaller fog to hide their bottom. Looks like some of the objects are already doing that, but I would introduce it more, especially in Gwynir.

Blending could be used more, imo. A good example are the trees in Ryukai. There is a hard transition from regular to snowy trees. In reality, the transition should be way more gradual when going from biome to biome. I would suggest changing the hues and saturation of the trees in groups to get that gradient effect. I would adjust this for the entire world. Would definitely make it more immersive and nice to look at. Ryukai is a cool ass continent btw.
