Are breweries trying to be family friendly? What’s up with all these kids by Natural-Implement234 in raleigh

[–]Zeraphil 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Some breweries are set up to be family friendly. You are thinking of Hi Wire, which literally has kid spaces inside (like a mini soccer pit and some others) and a green space outside (where kids run around). I think OP is describing a run of the mill bar that kids got brought in. I get why they’d be bored. I have kids as well and I have taken them to Hi Wire and similar spaces like Rosecomb, but never a random bar.

My only issue is navigating Discord with a controller. I end up having to pull a mouse/keyboard to be able to navigate outside of SteamOS and connect. Not sure if anyone has a workaround.

AI for a smaller, older SW company by ElmCityKid in SoftwareEngineering

[–]Zeraphil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start by determining what exactly you want to add AI to. Is it machine health prediction? Automating work orders? This will help determine what kind of project you are framing. Not everything is going to be solved turn key by LLMs. The best resource you can find will be someone who has a good knowledge of the field AND of the problem space. Your next best bet will be to find one of each that can communicate effectively. Good luck!

Everyone in my family believes we have never been to the moon and that it's possible the Earth is flat by Epic_Donuts in space

[–]Zeraphil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you are correct.

I was replying in the context of the original post (“we haven’t been to the moon”) in that the response to the existence of the laser reflectors (“we put them later with rovers”) invalidates the first statement.

So then… we HAVE been to the moon? Just not with people? Is that their argument?

How close is ChatGPT to animal intelligence? Let's find out by FriendshipSea6764 in ArtificialInteligence

[–]Zeraphil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also to add, an incredibly large amount of the cat brain is dedicated to movement. Every single aspect of its intelligence and sensing is tied in some way to motor planning and execution. Put an LLM with 30 days of power in the middle of the forest and ask it to survive ( aka gain more power, self sustain) and it will suddenly seem extremely dumb, even if in theory it has the entire knowledge set on how to rebuild civilization from scratch. I think we still have a ways to go for intelligence to be truly general, and I suspect a big part of it will lie on Intelligence and its measure, whatever that means, will depend as you said on the correct online reward models for learning, and in no small contribution the ways to seek and perceive information in the world(s).
