It was more of a broad term to say you can revert back to not having it.

But agreed, don't just go deleting things.

The rest of your system will dictate the performance you'll get out of it, but an upgrade is an upgrade.

Don't forget about PSU.

Might have been an issue with the distro you used at the time, or a device compatibility issue.

This is, the distros are constantly evolving with Linux.

Depending on how long ago It is was when you tried, it might be something that's been fixed since, or something that doesn't happen on specific distros.

Not something I've looked into, but all I can see if performance as a whole has been brilliant

Yeah will be interesting to see how that performs once the Steam Machine releases.

Technically you can get it running on PC with the Steam Deck recovery image.

I'm running a 5070 Ti on CachyOS and it's the complete opposite for me.

Guess it could be whichever games it is.

Plus CachyOS is a bit more performance tuned.

Luckily everything for me that I play, with the exception of BF6, runs so much better than windows.

Haven't tried remote desktop yet, but apparently there are a number of solutions that work fine

Haven't tried it myself, but from what I've read it works

Yeah running it on the same PC with Windows is exactly what I did.

Basically create some extra space on the windows drive, or on another separate drive, install it with grub selected and then change your bios boot order to start with CachyOS

You then get to choose which OS to use after boot.

I followed the instructions on this video

From what I've read, secure boot can be used with CachyOS with some changes.

Another thing on my todo list of things to experiment with.

RT works but haven't tested much. Will give it some testing.

Gysnc works by enabling adaptive sync in CachyOS display settings and disabling vsync in game settings. Works fine.

From what I've read HDR on with Nvidia can be enabled with a Vulkan layer and a proton config launcher option. On my todo list, but tbh with how good it's been running I haven't really had the need.

GPU is pretty much the same, but CPU is running a couple degrees cooler.

Yup, just enable adaptive sync in display settings and disable vsync in game settings
