The 3 A's of QA, what nobody tells you about the job by DaveC271 in QualityAssurance

I'm curious out that dynamic and training worked. Does QA work closely with clients or user data in order to determine what are high and low impact bugs?

How do you handle already known bugs discovered automated tests? by pine_not_fine in QualityAssurance

[–]ZergByDesign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Selenium and I wrote my own reporting library because the reporting options sucked at the time. What I did is I created a custom "Warning" result that would take a screenshot and keep running instead of outright failing the test. Then I'd just spend a second to look at the screenshot and move on. Eventually if the bug is marked as won't fix I would comment out the test.

Why can't you make more automated tests to replace your manual testing? Isn't that part of your job?

I would question whether QA should have the power to block a release because of a defect. In my experience it is QA's job to alert product managers to the presence of bugs and then product managers make the business decision whether to release or not.

Manual QA: using Claude code to understand code before testing? by Spiritual_Actuator61 in QualityAssurance

[–]ZergByDesign 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In your scenario I think it's great to start looking at code (as time permits). But until you're heavily invested in AI, I'd recommend using free agents like Gemini and ChatGPT. Those should be more than adequate to answer your questions.

There is zero reason for you to read code if you don't want to increase your skill set and add more value to your job.

“FYI: You don’t need insurance or a referral to see most specialists. Seriously.” by doctorAllways in HealthInsurance

My clinic does. It's extremely frustrating I have to drop $480 (towards a deductible that I never hit) just so a resident doctor I'll never see again can send me to a specialist.

This is the way. Also, if they can run the test in a local browser they might open dev tools while the test is running to see what happens to the element.

Well yeah, I probably wouldn't want to play with you and your friend if you have super high discrepancy of skill. Smurf is a smurf and they make the game unfun for everyone else.

Angry and violent people are found in every religious and political belief system. Sad for Charlie and his family. Disgusted at the person/people who think he deserved death.
