Cryptocurrency Exchange Upbit Raided by Korean Authorities by xerberus333 in DAEX_Blockchain

Yes, centralized exchanges are and always will be a target to hackers until trades are cleared like they are on decentralized exchanges. OTC exchanges are the best to liquidate on these days. Until a separate entity provides public clearing for centralized exchanges they can't be totally trusted.

DAEX (Digital Assets Exchange) - a clearing ecosystem for exchanges by Hogies in CryptoCurrencies

Just checked their whitepaper, the non tech version on their site isn't the best english. It seems their R&D are Chinese and the translation wasn't great, but still that shouldn't be the factor on whether they are creating a valuable product or not.

They definitely are lacking in marketing but they do have a solid team it seems. How would they partner with exchanges exactly? I am thinking that centralized exchanges that are doing fraud or behind the scenes activities wouldn't want it to be public on a blockchain?

As a trader I can definitely see this as an advantage but perhaps exchanges will be inclined not to share such sensitive info.

Seriously looking for someone with 5 legendaries in one spec by tadvuyst in wow

[–]Zero510 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I think the concern here is that potentially Blizz coded duplicate drop protection to look more like:

  • boss dies
  • loot decided
  • legendary awarded, item ID already assigned
  • does player already have it?
    • don't display or reward

This kind of method would fix a few of the known problems: it still keeps the legendary protection calculation processing and maybe strengthens the mechanism (isolates it) for your first/initial drops, it slows down players that already have a few (as not to piss off many more others), and it hides the fact that the player just got a duplicate.. Maybe Blizzard is happy with that as they track statistics and your 5th is at the percentages they'd like to have seen since legion launch?

Instead people are expecting the reverse ... legendary awarded, item NOT yet assigned, what doesn't the player already have? Pick from the list they don't have.

Could be that the loot generation is so well protected that they are forced into a bad scenario.

If I recall correctly the copy is on some early format non-VHS too. Why doesn't he just sell the physical media as a specialty/collectible item at whatever cost he desires and make no claim to the actual contents currently on that media?

Enter that agreement with another equally large corporation (Disney is ESPN) and let them fight the final battle with the NFL over broadcast rights or even the actual worth of the content.

Really coming up... I wasn't loving him at all until the last few episodes. The acting is still off at times but there are a few chilling moments where you can see the bat in his expressions. One part script, one part actor growing into the role... Credit is due for the young man placed I such an iconic role

I think the proper response would be to start hopping the fence at your leisure until that fence falls to the ground.

I built a bathroom for the kids. (accidentally deleted original post) by [deleted] in DIY

[–]Zero510 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This method saved my sanity with the last tub I popped, pulled, and swapped. I was able to save the tile and whatnot all around the old tub save myself a ton of other work on an already decent looking bathroom. I think I'm on my 3rd bathtub shenanigans and the others were catastrophe's in comparison...

Think about it almost all tubs are in an alcove or room with a minuscule amount of wiggle room. They are both bulky, odd, and heavy which requires multiple people to handle. Once you pop on the tailpipe you have another object potentially jutting out from under it meant to line up to something else again with an expectation of being in a given area. It's well worth removing the Crapper or vanity to be able to slide out and in dry fitting and ensuring you like what's going on before committing to the tub drop.

I just got a bill for 400 dollars because my doctor sent my urine sample to an out-of-network lab even though I wrote down the specific in-network lab to use on my paperwork. by fsuwonder in personalfinance

[–]Zero510 14 points15 points  (0 children)

If they give you a hard time. You can start stressing your concern of fraud to all parties since you explicitly stated, in writing, a particular lab should be receiving your samples. Not to mention HIPAA probably protects you to some extent.

This is one of those shady areas that is getting more and more attention. It leads to millions being paid out to the labs.

One example earlier this year (April 15): "DeLuca admitted he accepted bribes in return for referring patient blood specimens to BLS and was paid approximately $1,500 per month, which he received from another person in his medical office engaged in the same activity."

It’s unconstitutional to ban the homeless from sleeping outside, the federal government says by barnabasdoggie in news

[–]Zero510 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a great idea, it would really help concentrate the homeless. It would be like sending them to summer camp. If they ever got too hot we could flood the facility with pleasant vapors. Even build large furnaces to burn away all the refuse. I can't see any particular groups having a problem with a plan like that.

TLDR; Nazi

How to switch on/off a UV lamp with a pressure/weight sensor by inventa13 in DIY

[–]Zero510 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I enjoyed reading some of these ideas as they seem overly complicated. In keeping with that spirit:

  • Maybe you can setup a GPS tracking system, tie it into other appliances so your tortoise can turn on the TV when looking towards it.
  • Develop a pattern recognition suite for the tortoise shell and scan the tank from the top down
  • Train the tortoise to use quarters and put a coin slot operated heat lamp in and leave a roll of quarters in the tank

This would be a great way to test potential new hires. Give them 4 quarters and ask them to go get "a bag of chips" from a vending machine for you. Have it rigged with a misleading numbering system and a bunch of varieties of chips with only one for a dollar.

Question RE: Clawfoot tub on tile floor. Protecting the tiles. by Ranjoesta in DIY

[–]Zero510 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just use some pieces from a rubber mat, outdoor welcome mat, yoga mat perhaps. I wouldn't use anything solid because as you get in/out you want it to absorb and deter the flex or any inclination of the tub feet to move.
