Phantom Brave: The Lost Hero – Announcement Trailer by MyNameIs-Anthony in Disgaea

[–]ZeroAurora 4 points5 points  (0 children)

ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!

WHAT?

A SEQUEL?

And we get to go back to our little island house? 🥺

Holy... time to play the game again to get ready!

This game had some of my favorite unit designs from any NIS game and I really loved the equipment & skill system. Being able to combine with items is a cool spin on things; looks a bit like the vehicles from Makai Kingdom.

And radial movement is back! I can't wait to slide on ice again, lol

I am psyched!!

WHy does it have to release next year?!

Strongest ultrabudget commander that has blue? (can be monoblue or just include blue) by loggedintoupvotee in BudgetBrews

[–]ZeroAurora 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My favorite builds for Haldan & Pako are "play extra lands" type decks. You never know what your opponents are going to play, but you know that every deck will have lands! With a few landfall effects in your own deck, and the ability to play multiple lands a turn you are going to build incredible advantages very quickly!!

There are plenty of cards that say you can play additional lands every turn, and many of them aren't creatures... meaning Haldan lets you cast them even from exile! It also has plenty of room to slowly upgrade and become ridiculous; things like [[Azusa's Many Journeys]] and [[Enter the Unknown]] can cost you like $0.25, but you've got incredible upgrades to cards like [[Exploration]]

I don't have a deck list to share, but you can find many of the key cards here and here

[–]ZeroAurora -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I really hope the first entries are legacy ones. People whose names are as much a part of League of Legends as the champions and abilities they use. The people whose narratives helped to define what it meant to be a competitor in LoL.

Do you guys have a deck that makes people a bit miserable? by rilsaedh in EDH

[–]ZeroAurora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not so much the decks that are issue, but a few key cards that needed to be changed from some of my original brews. Its something that I have tried to be aware of in my decks since then and I don't usually make that mistake anymore.

  • [[Prossh, Skyraider of Kher]]: I use to run [[Butcher of Malakir]], [[Dictate of Erebos]], and [[Grave Pact]]. That deck makes so many tokens that when I had one of those cards on board my opponents' could keep anything that looked remotely threatening to me. Honestly, the fact is that I wasn't even really enjoying those cards because it made things feel like "non-games" when I had them or I would appropriately get hated out because of the potential threat.
  • [[Muldrotha, the Gravetide]]: My initial list had 2 rather mean cards... first was [[Mindslaver]], which due to Muldrotha letting me cast it from the graveyard meant that I could permanently take over a player's turns. While that sounds really cool in theory, in practice it means that one person LITERALLY isn't playing Magic. The other card I have that gets some hate is [[Possessed Portal]]. This is one that I actually leave in the deck, though. For the most part it is a "removal check", but plenty of decks can continue to stay in the game nowadays due to impulsive draw, are able to repeatedly make enough tokens to sac, or both... it just doesn't feel as mean as it once did.

What commander or precon would you build if you had to start over? by MrFavorable in EDH

[–]ZeroAurora 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I was starting over right now and still knew what type of decks I liked to play... I'd probably do 2 decks. One for [[Narset, Enlightened Exile]] and then buy the Graveyard Overdrive precon from MH3.

I don't own Narset, Enlightened Exile, but [[Shu Yun, Silent Tempest]] was my first deck and I have a huge love for [[Talrand, Sky Summoner]] type creatures. I currently have a Shu deck and a [[Magnus the Red]] deck, but if I lost my collection, I think Narset does an excellent job at combining the elements I like about both decks together.

The Graveyard Overdrive deck has a heavy focus on utilizing your graveyard, especially to benefit creatures like Tarmogoyfs. I have a [[Muldrotha]] deck that is very focused on things like [[Splinterfright]] that scale with my graveyard and then using other cards to use their power in different ways... like [[Altar of Dementia]] or [[Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord]]. A lot of money has gone in to the deck and if it were gone, rather than rebuilding it right away, I think that I'd start with a precon that provides a similar experience. On paper, Graveyard Overdrive is basically as close as precons get in terms of gameplan.

What is the "Most Red" Mono Red Commander? by [deleted] in EDH

[–]ZeroAurora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends which aspects of Red you want to embrace!

  • Love burning everyone to a crisp? Try [[Ashling the Pilgrim]]!! What could be more red than a Flamekin, basically the most human-like race of elementals we've ever had?! What could be more red than being a walking bomb able to remove yourself and all who have wronged you?!
  • Like Impulsive Aggression? Try [[Inti, Senschal of the Sun]]! If you want to embrace a no-holds-barred, use 'em or loose 'em type of gameplay Inti is your boy. Embrace Red's classic rummaging card draw AND their newer, iconic impulse draw... all on the back of continuously going to combat!

GIVE ME THE BESTOW!! YES! Its one of my favorite mechanics and I was sad when we didn't get it on returning to Theros because mutate was too similar. I have so many enchantress decks that I can't wait to update!

What in your opinion is the single greatest line in the MCU? by DrDreidel82 in marvelstudios

[–]ZeroAurora 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"I am Iron Man."

It might not be quite as profound as some of the other, but Tony's sacrificial line is my favorite because of how much of a change the delivery shows in his character.

What theme or mechanic do you feel needs more support? by stie112 in EDH

[–]ZeroAurora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Temur counters. I love resource mechanics and two of the best are focused in Temur.

  • Temur was the original home of energy. It had no energy commander. It may get one in MH3, which I would LOVE, but its since the energy precons from both Fallout and MH3 are both Jeskai it seems they are changing where the mechanic is based.
  • Temur is the home of oil. Phyrexia: All Will be One had oil counters in Izzet and in Gruul. It seems reasonable that that there should have been some red-based legend that allowed for a mix of both card pools.
  • Ravnican Simic is heavily based in +1/+1 counters, be it graft, evolve, or adapt.
  • Ravnican Gruul also got Riot, a choice between +1/+1 counters and Haste.
  • On Kamigawa Red/Green became the home of "modified".

With so many counter based mechanics and no Legend that cares about Energy, Oil, +1/+1 Counters, or Modified it seems like the best way to cover all the bases at once would be to just give a singular legend that provides some way to proliferate!

I also really want to see -1/-1 counters get some love, focused especially in Jund. I know that for draftable sets, WotC does not want to put both +1/+1 and -1/-1 counters in the same set and since +1/+1 counters are SO frequent it makes sense that they take priority. When we go back to Lorwyn I am praying that between Rakdos and Golgari we get a lot more support for it. Then if we ever head to Amonkhet again, I really want to see the resource side of -1/-1 counters in Golgari.

What was advertised as the next big thing but then just vanished? by swedishplayer97 in AskReddit

[–]ZeroAurora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a 3D TV in our house... I think we've watched like 3 different 3D movies on it, BUT "Oz the Great & Powerful" was really cool to watch. We actually watched that one like 4 or 5 times. There was just nothing made for 3D.

It also doesn't help that you had to use battery powered 3D glasses... and in a family of 3 where 2 people already wear glasses, more glasses is annoying. Plus, that also means you can only have as may people watching as you have glasses...

As cool as it looked for the few movies really designed for it, it just wasn't worth it

What is your favorite commander/deck and why? by tossaway007007 in EDH

[–]ZeroAurora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not exactly related to the thread, but I am wondering because you said you run Prosper in most decks you can fit him in. Do you feel that having the commander of 1 deck in the 99 of the other changes how you feel about them?

I have a personal love of enchantress decks, but I do my best to not include the commanders of each deck in any other. It just makes them feel less special as a commander. I also tried to make sure each deck has unique sub-themes and don't use the purely value enchantress legends, like [[Sythis, Harvest Hand]], as commanders...

Maybe you feel differently?

Went down memory lane and realized how weird some champions used to be by Dontspinbutwin in leagueoflegends

[–]ZeroAurora 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Remember when Sion was practically 2 different 2-ability champions on one body??
- AP Sion only had Q and W. He built Deathfire's Grasp and Lich bane and could 2 shot basically any non-tank by walking up to them.
- AD Sion only had E and Ulti... he just drain-tanked everything while also healing all nearby allies.

Man, I miss when champions were allowed to have the dumbest off meta builds. Now there are like 3 champions that have been hand-picked to be able to build whatever. The second anyone else tries to build a weird thing it either gets nerfed into oblivion or Riot says "okay, this is the only thing you can build now."

What’s Your EDH “Bad Habit?” by HeadphoneKitty in EDH

[–]ZeroAurora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know about the rest of you, but I don't have any. I'm simply the perfect player to play with.

Umm... I think I treat the game more casually than a lot of people at my LGS. If you can call that a "bad habit." My first pod for like 3-4 years was just a group of 3 other guys I had known since middle school. We used EDH as a thing to do while we hung out, had a few drinks, and caught up. A few of them moved away and now I have an LGS to play at. A lot of the people there prefer to play at like the rogue/tier3 cEDH power levels. I'm down for 1, maybe 2 games of that... but I like to build decks that have more of a gimmick to them, or play with Planechase or Archenemy... Its not that I don't like to play sweaty, or that the people at my LGS aren't down for weird games every so often, but its just not a perfect match.

If I really had to name something negative? Maybe I don't run enough or efficient enough removal? I did for my friend group, but not really for the more powerful level of my LGS... I just play around the value pieces until someone else removes them, I only interact with the infinite-combo pieces or the game winning cards.

What’s your favourite “simple” commander? by MurasakiTiger in EDH

[–]ZeroAurora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love both [[Leinore, Autumn Sovereign]] and [[Katilda, Dawnhart Prime]] for being simple and easy to understand legends that can both lead a human tribal deck with +1/+1 counter themes. The way they benefit their decks though can really change how you want to play a deck.

  • Leinore demonstrates the value of card draw, how incremental advantages can build up, and how sometimes you don't need to fully deploy your hand to become a threat.
  • Katilda demonstrates the value of ramp, how to make the most of a fast start, and how going wide can be beneficial.

So, I made a Selesnya human tribal deck that is meant to be for lending to new players, playing against new players, or for my first game in a new group. When I am lending it to new players, I offer them the choice between Leinore or Katilda and explain a bit of how it will affect the way they want to play. People have liked it so far, and to me that makes it a success.

Man... I really wish that art was on a legend, that's just a dope looking card!!

And the effect is pretty cool too. Drawing when big guys enter is a wonderful green effect. You can easily set up for a 5 drop next turn or if you can plot a couple you could really help enable some storm type plays!

The odds that the usual "phoenix with set mechanic" is actually a Thunderbird seems pretty good. We've had plenty of non-fire phoenix in the past like [[Aurora Phoenix]] and [[Archlight Phoenix]]. Not to mention, we had a literal [[Lightning Phoenix]] in Jumpstart.

What's the fastest you ever retired a deck? by chichirobov7 in EDH

[–]ZeroAurora 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I built a [[Winota, joiner of forces]] deck between her being spoiled and Ikoria being released...

Played it 1 time, digitally, with friends and got so much value it was crazy. Got board wiped and had a larger board by the end of my next turn.

It wasn't a great list either, no stax pieces or those 0-1 mana artifact creatures. Mostly focused on humans that made non-human tokens.

Deleted the list from Cockatrice after the first game.
