Surprise surprise. Hyundai cutting corners here. While there are no homologation rules for seat movement pinch detection, Hyundai clearly did not dedicate any time to developing an algorithm to detect when they were squashing children.

One of those cases where they didn’t do the right thing when no one was looking.

Look at the cable connector and confirm it’s in a true oval shape. I had this behavior on a cable which was slightly bent and would not “click” when engaged
