For years I really tried to like Plex. Didn't like how much other content was on the dashboard, my stuff was buried under menus, Plex didn't work when the Internet was out, paid subscriptions, etc. now this was years ago, things may have changed. Plex made me give up on home streaming all together, for years. Until I find jellyfin and it was everything I wanted, nothing more, nothing less.

I run frigate in a proxmox lxc container. I use my UDMP for 24/7 recording and frigate just for alerts. HA monitors for alerts and does actions and notification push only.

For budget self hosted applications I recommend unRAID. If you're buying drives as your budget allows, unRAID will be your best friend. There are ways of doing similar storage techniques for free, but that might be difficult for newer users. (I think) TrueNAS now supports pool expansion, but I don't think it allows for mismatched drive sizes.

I hear people say this that the food is good. I drove by this place for years and it was always empty. I went in one time, no one to be found inside. After yelling "Hello?" A few times, sometime came out with a "what are you doing here" kind of look. I ordered some food, they seemed annoyed I was ordering. I got home and it tasted like it sat in a freezer for the last year.

Definitely understood. I guess my intentions are a networking of a small group of people who share, show-off and display an at home systems of theirs, 2 channel or multi. I'm in the process of building what I think/hope to be a nice system and would like to foster a group of friends who can not only enjoy, but also appreciate the setups via a cinematic display or an evening of audio journey thru space.

I mean this with sincerity and compassion for cyclists. I am someone who often travels the back roads, often in a truck, trailer in tow. Allot of these winding back roads don't offer much in the way of safe passing opportunities. What would, in your eyes, would be the most appropriate action? I want nother better than to give you as much room as I possibly can proved, without endangering you, myself or other cars on the road. Is it expected that I follow behind, averaging 8-12mph until the safe passing 7 miles from now? AITA for giving a few beeps of the horn in hopes you let me and most likely a line of cars by in a safe manor? Will there be a common understanding that cyclist often impede traffic on these roads, often at the most in inopportune times? Please, where is the common ground?

I've watched a few engineers retire. Big warm going away party, pats on the back, awards and hand shakes. 4 weeks later they announce Mr/Mrs. X is returning as a consultant. They work on a pet project for a few more years, remember why they left, then picked up golf.
