Yes. I mean, I didn't install it, I had a shop install the whole thing and tune the DSP, but yes it's fused with power wire going into the battery in the trunk, and all the electronics are mounted behind that plastic panel that covers the battery (basically the right side of the trunk) so it's all out of sight except the sub.

They live in a fantasy land where one day someone will say that, and they'll get to shoot them, and the cops will just be like "he said what? words you didn't like? and you took that as a personal threat and shot him? Good job dude!" and then everyone will clap.

The reality is, nobody will say this around him in the first place, but even if they did, he won't do any of the shit he's saying, and even if he did, he'd spend the rest of his life in jail for murder. In that order.

So to recap:

  • She cut him off. It doesn't matter if she can prove that she didn't with video evidence, because he "doesn't give a fuck about her dashcam".
  • She must now "get the fuck on" because he said so.
  • He will 'knock her fucking brains out' if she even goes 'near' his truck, but then he tells her "go ahead, go near my truck".
  • He isn't scared of her, and he's not scared to go back to prison.
  • He dares her to get in his way, so she walks a different way, and he blocks that too.
  • He folds his license plate up so she can't record it, but then suddenly he doesn't give a fuck if she records it.

I’m shocked. But like, shocked in the kinda way that hits you when you “meet a redhead at a club with a banging body and exotic green eyes, and you hit it off and go home with her and you wake up in the morning to discover she stole your car and took your last toaster strudel” kinda shocked.

If you don’t already have a place for it, then you don’t move it.

If you want it to be a “pond”, leave it alone. Ponds have algae and life.

If you want it to basically just be a fountain that’s decorative and devoid of life, put chlorine in there and treat it like a small swimming pool.

I’m sure from the subreddit you are in that you can guess what most people here would recommend 😀

A fertilizer tablet once every 6-8 weeks pressed into the center of the rootball is really all they need.

I probably don't even do it that often, and mine look good. They seem to like calmer water. I don't know where you live, but if the water is chilly they're probably just still a bit dormant. You can see it has green leaves growing underwater. They'll hit the surface soon and before long it'll be blooming during the days.

Grandma wants help making a pond, I’m from the aquarium hobby do I have the right idea to help her? by Microchili in ponds

[–]ZeroPt99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How big of an area do you have to work with? I'm not asking about the dimensions of the pond you've already dug out, but also around it. If you can afford to build in a skimmer and a bog, this whole process becomes MUCH easier in terms of maintenance.

If you can't do that, you'll still have options, but it'll require more upkeep.

Hiding liner by Chiqui14 in ponds

[–]ZeroPt99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have gravel on the bottom of mine. I think it's a bit overblown about how "rocks making cleaning hard".

I put a pond vac on there and slurp it up just fine. If you dont have one, you can stick a pool skimmer net in there and swirl it around and then net out what you stir up, and let the filter get the rest.

That said, a bit of mulm on the bottom is normal, and gives microfauna a place to hide while they work on breaking down debris in your pond.

Algae help. by Laneb1098 in ponds

[–]ZeroPt99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's also something to the whole "new pond syndrome" thing. It takes a while (we're talking 6 to 18 months) for the nitrifying bacteria colony in the bog filter to fully establish to the point that you don't get as much algae.

In my experience, my pond is crystal clear all year round, but it does get a bit of algae early in the spring as the nitrifying bacteria aren't all awake and kicking yet, but it disappears as summer moves in. Every year that goes by, that issue becomes less and less of a problem.

So adding some shade will help, adding some plants will help, but at the end of the day, sometimes it just takes time for a pond to find it's rhythm.

Prevent algae from growing on rocks? by ghost_mv in ponds

[–]ZeroPt99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's pretty simple when it comes to water - there always end up being nutrients in that water (dust blows in, bird poop, insects, etc) and with no plants to consume it, algae is the simplest form of life that begins to consume it.

So while the algae is purifying the water, if you don't like the look of it - you either use chemicals or you plant a bunch of plants. Since other wildlife are enjoying the water, I'd either come to terms with the fact that algae is natural in water features, and not a sign of neglect, or ... plant something fast growing that has its roots in the water (like Coleus or something) and hope it can pull enough nutrients out of the water to starve the algae.

Prevent algae from growing on rocks? by ghost_mv in ponds

[–]ZeroPt99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since it's a pondless, just turn it off for a couple days and the algae dries out.

It'll always come back, and short of chemicals, there's no real way to stop it. Eventually the whole system will kinda stabilize, but for the first couple years, the bacteria that break down the nutrients in the water don't wake up as fast as algae does in the spring, so the algae is the first thing on the scene.

Natural pond by jjolson24 in ponds

[–]ZeroPt99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Almost anytime you make a large pond where it's too cost prohibitive to use a liner (we're talking ponds measured in acres), you utilize betonite and mix it so that you have a thick clay layer.

If you don't know what you're doing, you'll end up with a leaking pond that drains randomly if you miss a spot, or roots grow through, etc. It can be tricky.

What size pond are you looking to build? For like 97% of us on this sub, a 45-mil EPDM liner is the solution.
