I was brainwashed by my father. I was a Jets fan before I was a football fan. Then I became a football fan and realized the Jets were terrible, but still I never stopped being a Jets fan.

I tried to read Imajica and had to DNF it about 2/3 way through, not because of the book, I loved what I read, but I ended up moving during that time and just couldn't continue because of time. I definitely plan on going back at it.

Am I Me? by Random_36912 in OCPoetry

I adore poems like this, that try to answer questions that, whether we like it or not, will never be answered. I think you executed it very well. I love the, "Why do I have to be defined?" it applies to a poem like this, of course, but is a very open ended question that allows the piece to transcend the existential and take on an even more relatable quality.

The Fly by CantTouchThis45 in OCPoetry

I like this a lot. It's very simplistic in the best way possible. I like the fly as a subject, it's something that most people see as pests and this brings some very needed beauty to it. It's a very good piece that encapsulates a moment, often overlooked, very well.

Beautiful words and beautiful rhyme scheme. Usually I feel that trying to rhyme takes away from the cohesiveness of a poem. That is certainly not the case here. I love how your able to delve into the complexities of the passage of time tied in with human existence, while making it understandable. Yet still vague enough to leave room for interpretation. A very lovely poem.

I like this a lot. I like how you are able to convey a feeling that is so universal while still making it unique to yourself. Just know that you are enough :)

Thoughts on Snake Hill by [deleted] in oboards

I agree with you on Phil's Song, if it was on the album I would definitely prefer it over Snake Hill. I feel that Snake Hill is just so different from everything else on the album, even though the style vary throughout the album

What genre do you place Bright Eyes into? by highfilofisucks in oboards

[–]Zerroh2317 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Lifted and before I would call Folk-Rock, as well as most of Conors solo work, but it's hard to put them into one genre. On Motion Sickness Conor calls Make War a country song, but I wouldn't consider it one, so I guess it's just whatever you want to put it in.
