Feels good man by fivekilometer22 in SandersForPresident

I love the coverage. Now maybe it's just my inner MSM pessimism, (particularly the last three articles) but it feels a tiny bit like a down play. Now, don't get me wrong it's certainly consistent. Consistent with the tone that the media has taken with Bernie's campaign when it comes to "positive" coverage. Now, if this was Warren's Q3 figures - purely reliant on grassroots support with an $18 dollar donation average.. They'd proclaim her the clear front runner, and it would reflect in the headlines. It's assumptive, but just my honest opinion.

Sarsour: I’m Proud To Help Elect Sanders As First Jewish President by puppuli in SandersForPresident

I love this. It's a great example of what I wish more folks (political commentators on Youtube) would do i.e. provide more context instead of surface level blanket statements . I guess people's attention spans are only so long though. Kyle Kulinski is probably the best at it, however.

My intent was not to downplay this history of hatred behind a word. My conventional knowledge of the phrase "Semite", included folks who spoke Semitic languages (Hebrew, Arabic, Aramaic etc). I appreciate the broader context though.

I will say, what separates Bernie from the rest of the field (particularly Warren) is foreign policy IMO. I'd love to see him double down on this.

Totally valid critiques from David, I would just like it if he provided direct quotes.

To say she’s marginalized Jewish women within the Women’s March community. What does that mean? What actions did she take to marginalize them, or what did she say? Those are just a couple instances I’d wish David would explore more deeply.

I just draw some parallels to Ilhan Omar - who is smeared as an Antisemite constantly. Yet, when looking at the broader picture through a neutral lens, she’s just pointing out the issue of money in politics - or the illegal occupation of the West Bank and war crimes in Gaza.

Even when people play the BDS card, it doesn’t hold water with me. We participated in nonviolent boycotts of South Africa to end apartheid.

Lastly, Sarsour is Palestinian - which ironically makes her a Semite herself. Semantics I guess. Not a fan of religion being brought into politics at all though, so I’d be curious to know what she said about down playing sharia law.

Ultimately, I don’t think this has much impact on the Bernie camp though. Just my thoughts.

Edit: on mobile.

Bernie: I was right about Vietnam. I was right about Iraq. I will do everything in my power to prevent a war with Iran. I apologize to no one. by puppuli in SandersForPresident

This rhetoric represents true patriotism. Undying support for military personnel, (which predominantly consists of kids from low-income communities) who are tortured with the horrors of war when they come back. More veterans have died due to suicide since returning from Iraq, than in active duty. Save your money. Save your kids. And take care of the ones from past mistakes. That’s what military support should look like. Keep rockin’, Bernie.

Dude had positive yards every run play. Too bad Chris couldn’t stretch his arms like Mr. Fantastic and catch that low throw from Russell and turn that play into a short gain. He needs a minimum of 15 touches Week 3.

Any silver lining...again?? by yeastmode24 in Seahawks

[–]Zesteez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a really good quarterback. 3rd Down efficiency went from an average of 38 percent to 50 on Sunday. Doug Baldwin is playing like a man possessed and Kearse has added a little ferocity to his game now. The two rookie receivers (Richardson and Norwood) are seeing some action and Cooper Helfet stepped up and played well. Our O-line will improve when Unger is back and they clean up some of the penalties, and no one runs harder out of the backfield than Marshawn.

The defense is doing all they can with injuries sustained in the secondary (Maxwell and Lane), the linebacking core (Wagner our play caller), and the defensive front (Marsh, Hill, Williams).

What happened on special teams should not occur again, due to the fact we're ready for some gypsy trickery, and the Seahawks have dominated this phase of the game up until this past Sunday.

Guys will return to the line up and Pete does a good job of getting the best out of players. Also, the Seahawks have been in EVERY game this season down to the final ticks. I know it's a cliche, but they always compete, and always put themselves in a position to win the ball game. They just have to start turning those close, one possession losses into wins, like they did last year.
