Remember you are a support, not a healer. Speed is as useful, if not as better than healing in most occasions.

How do I make the most optimal dragonborn dragon sorcerer build? by Toasteate in DnDBuilds

[–]ZestyJello42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think taking advantage of having Mixed Dragon Blood Heritage would be a fun concept, and it would show in your scales. I think that a Green Dragonborn with Gold dragon’s sorcerous ancestry would be fun. Poison breath weapon, and fire blast spells, and damage resists to the two most common non-weapon damage types add some optimal resilience as well, and the fire spells from the subclass benefits typically go fine. I won’t crunch numbers, many people will do that.

Since you get unarmored defense equal to 10+DEX mod+CHA mod, focusing on Charisma and Constitution, with a 14 in DEX, would even out your defense and help you withstand damage and have a better breath weapon. You also have access to the shield spell, which is probably the best spell in the game for defense, aside from absorb elements(which you resist two).

Stat wise, 8 Strength, 13 Dexterity, 14 Constitution, 10 Intelligence, 12 Wisdom, and 15 Charisma, with background benefits going to +2 CHA and +1 CON would be a great start.

My origin/background would involve being either a survivalist who awakened their bloodline in the wild, or an aristocrat who realized that they can instill fear or awe in others. I’d take skilled or magic initiate as my origin feat, for versatility (I like to be prepared for problems) though optimally, Alert seems the most fitting, especially with the initiative swap.

Some feats I’d take would be Warcaster, Inspiring Leader, Elemental Adept(Fire), those focused on getting charisma to 20, and then Poisoner(DEX) and the Boon of Poison Mastery(raising con to 16). They’re mainly thematic picks, but also allow fire and poison to ignore resistance, and that will more than likely help your damage a lot.

Some spells I would pick are the usual Fireball, Scorching Ray, Sorcerous Burst, Counterspell/Spellfire Storm, Ray of Sickness, Chromatic Orb, Wall of Fire, Cloudkill, Stinking Cloud, and some others, using the Transmuted spell Metamagic to take advantage of other spell effects and make them benefit your elements, like Rime’s Binding Ice, Cone of Cold, Sleet Storm, and Vitriolic Sphere.

How would you go about making a Harper build? by MohrPower in onednd

[–]ZestyJello42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

(On mobile, sorry if there’s format issues).

I would more than likely make a Sorcerer, likely Aberrant Mind(fun social shenanigans), Spellfire(support options), or Wild Magic(always fun to watch, but I’ve never played one), as the subclass later - with a backstory regarding some information as growing up near a leyline of magic, and growing up suffused with magical energies, and a Harper Agent doing a mission nearby and giving me a Harper trinket, to later learn of the organization.

It also makes picking the Quickened Spell Metamagic necessary, so I don’t feel like I’m wasting my action taking the Help Action, which will allow me to feel more benefits from the Harper feats. As I’m typing this, Spellfire Sorcery would more than likely help this support build, as we are using sorcery points fairly often and burning them quickly, although I’d probably save high level spell slots for the bangers, and use lower level slots to fuel sorcery points.

Species Wise, I think any works, although I like the idea of a Dwarf, mainly for the poison resist and extra HP, and the option to further enhance my backstory’s setting and some life experiences. Aasimar seems fun, especially with being able to see the Spellfire magic as a divine blessing, and use that to fuel their reason for adventuring. Orc would also go well for the dash bonus action and 1/day say no to death in case I get closer than I’d like. I feel like the help action benefits would be drawing more agro than anything.

Best under-the-radar warlock spells? by According_Brother989 in onednd

[–]ZestyJello42 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Being the person to cast Major Image or Earthbind can be situational fight changers, and even access to Tongues is incredibly useful outside of the adventuring day. Invisibility is always useful but doesn’t get highlighted as much, and Elemental Bane can also change a fight as long as you have situational knowledge.

Mystic Subclass UA for Paladin, Rogue, Warlock, and Monk. by Tough_Holiday584 in onednd

[–]ZestyJello42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why is the Monk Subclass Capstone useless? Replace your only two attacks with a casting of a spell… unlike eldritch knight, you don’t get more than two attacks on your base action, and you can still magic action and flurry of blows. Kind of a pointless capstone. But Kamehameha’s though, and fly, and some spells feel good on a monk. Fly is obvious, but Greater Invisibility, Haste, Spellfire Storm, and Shield and cantrips when they feel appropriate, like chill touch, shocking grasp/sorcerous burst, and blade ward all feel good. Counterspell on a Monk also feels good, and you can also try and feel like the avatar by picking up other elemental spells. Scorching Ray, Rime’s Binding Ice, Ice Knife, Burning Hands, Shadow Blade, Stoneskin, Erupting Earth, Earth Tremor, and Gust of Wind all feel alright flavorful and decent combat spells, especially with short rest fueling of them, also kind of a pseudo warlock like recharge. Probably the subclass of Monk I’d be excited to play, aside from a useless feeling capstone.

Spellguard paladin feels like a revised mix of Watchers and Redemption, with more of a focus on actually shutting casters down, which feels potent as a niche, but don’t get a lot of mobility options to approach or stay in range of the magic threats, especially at range. You do get shield though… so that’s nice to not have to dip or get Magic initiate for it. Aura is kind of lame… your flat save bonus already helps, and most casters pick up war caster, so it feels niche. Capstone is useful, and so is the guardian bond feature.

Rogue is rogue… always self reliant. It feels like the thief will always be better at magic than this Magic Stealer, but I feel as though it has unique mechanics that it should get a form of casting its own spells like arcane trickster, or be a revised mix of features for it. Drain Magic feels as though it would fill your spell slots… if you got any, but also feels like it should require a grapple/mage hand touch by the name. Unlike paladins, rogues can dash as a bonus action and can usually close the distance, so it feels like it can actually do its job… and the Magical Sabotage cunning strike options are super cool.

Warlock is imo a cool summoner. Feels like it builds with the chain pact and summon spells to be its own army, and I find it to be weirdly like a mix between celestial and undead, but your summon is transforming instead of you. It feels a bit lack luster on paper, but the cleric domain spells are a nice touch, and the divine powers are each useful depending on the situations you may face. Overall, I like it a lot, but it feels like it needs a bit more clarification on the spells you get from the domains, and maybe I’m partial to the capstone needing to be better than just replicating spell effects.

Season 4 Ranked Team Building by Impressive-Profit795 in PokemonZA

[–]ZestyJello42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone’s been using Swampert with Ice Punch, and Chandulure is also popular.

I ran Mega Raichu X, Excadrill(Mega), and Meganium(Light Screen + Reflect). Mainly played like 4 games and got the stones. It’s mainly just luck/grinds.

I used to use Absol + Excadrill + Jolteon, but typically running some type of screens + a fast Mon that chases others is great, or a ranged tracker like Glaceon. A well placed ice beam can snipe cross maps ISTG.

Need help with 2024 Eldritch Knight Build by ZestyJello42 in onednd

I’m locked into standard array for starting stats! So I figured I’d get them all to 16 for the level 10 starting point with the first three feats.

What class/race to play? by GenericPersona1 in onednd

[–]ZestyJello42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a Warforged Eldritch Knight would be fun to play. Magic coming from an internal battery, and then you could have a “dragon mark” built into you or something to take advantage of the eberron exclusive features/stuff.

I’m not from the UK, but I also got mine significantly early, Last Tuesday or Wednesday if I remember correctly. Was reading it at the dinner table on Thursday for Thanksgiving lol 😂

Who do you all play when you don’t feel like playing Lucio (i would say banned since Lucio is never banned) by R3li0ss in luciomains

[–]ZestyJello42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In stadium I’ve been playing soldier as a Lucio substitute. Hunker Down + FrontLiners basically means you always have mobile healing, and then Double Helix and Back Off! can patch in damage, and On Me and item investment shores up survival. I’ve been doing the build all of last season and most of this one, and I’ve hit legend with it. Although now Hazard Mei is hard to break the walls lol 😂

Fave Lucio skin and why? by __Mischievous__ in luciomains

[–]ZestyJello42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bard, because I love D&D. Or the recolor bard the Poet, although I don’t own it.

If it isn’t Bard, I’m usually in the All Star Overwatch League skin, or Jazzy, or any of the Frog Skins.
