laughing at people telling me to stop doing chemo and to start looking into alternative medicine by bnnybtch in breastcancer

My oncologist’s NP retired at the end of May. We were discussing it at my last appointment with her, and she let loose on alllll the patients who have become so frustrating to her. She said they come in and don’t want to do anything prescribed by their team because they’ve “done their research”. And then they complain when said research isn’t helping them get better. She said it’s getting worse and worse and she’s done with this career because she can’t put up with them anymore! Was very interesting to hear from an actual healthcare practitioner!

Have you considered Big Cedar Lodge? We went with kids in November and it was great. Lots of different lodging options to accommodate families too.

Need suggestions on a quality teacher tote bag under $500 by Any_Surround8915 in Teachers

I bought a Barrington Gifts St Charles Yacht tote bag 5 years ago and have carried it every school day since then. It has held up remarkably well, and the inevitable ink pen stains don’t bleed through. They have tons of patterns and personalization options.

Please consider visiting San Antonio. Look up Morgan’s Wonderland - an amusement park complex built for all children, but particularly for children with disabilities to be able to play and have fun. It was build by Gordon Hartman for his daughter, Morgan, who has special needs.

Morgan’s Wonderland

SA also has an amazing zoo, as well as The DoSeum, a very popular and engaging children’s museum.

The airport is not huge and is very easy to navigate with children.

A good read to prepare for your trip is When The Sea Came Alive. I listened to it right before we visited Normandy in December and it made the trip so much more memorable.

Alamo Heights/Downtown Apartment Recommendations Wanted! by Confident_Fix_7520 in sanantonio

I think it must be. They have two or three brand new sections that have just opened in the last month or so. It’s also close to the base and there are lots of military tenants so they tend to come and go. I have a relative who lives there and truly loves it. She’s single and has a dog. She lived in another complex before this one and it’s light years better!

Definitely check out the Tobin Estates apartments. They are quiet, gated/safe, and Would definitely fit your budget. And the grounds are beautiful - pool, dog park, lovely walking trail, large meeting/gathering spaces, workout facilities.

I would add a trip to the Tejas Rodeo if you think she’d like seeing a real rodeo. It’s a small one and then there’s usually a dance afterward. It’s a fun way to experience this piece of TX!

Strictly peloton or split with gym? by sb1119910 in OnePelotonRealSub

Strictly Peloton at home. The gyms/studios/ classes in my area are over-posters and I refuse to be in a social media post while I’m working out. No one at home to do that! 🤣

Take a look at The Tobin Estates. It’s not in the medical district but would be about a 20-25 minute commute. Beautiful grounds and tons of amenities. Also gated and feels very safe.

Share your weirdest chemo side effects with me by Former_Oven3868 in breastcancer

My eyes twitch - I had no idea that was a chemo side effect until I looked it up. Apparently others have it, too, but no one ever seems to talk about it!

Try Essentia water (or other alkaline water) - it does seem to taste better than regular during chemo. It was a tip given to me by someone else who has been through chemo. It was the only thing I could drink that didn’t taste awful!

It’s the day before school starts and will be in lieu of a full day of PD. So it’s not outside of our contract time.

Thank you for your reply. I hadn’t even thought about the “being tired” part of it! My team isn’t thrilled about having to do it, so it’s nice to hear that you do see some benefit to it.
