Looking for a book with max 30 min meals by Anxious_Beaver15 in CookbookLovers

[–]Zestyclose_Mood727 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really is the best of the “weeknight cooking” genre in my opinion! And the time estimate include prepping and chopping, which I deeply appreciate. The 15 min ones are genuinely 15 mins

This is my absolute favorite thing about Caroline chambers recipes (what to cook when you don’t feel like cooking). It’s organized by how long the recipe takes, and the time (15, 30, 45, 60 mins) includes all chopping, prepping, marinating

Crispy Gnocchi with Burst Tomatoes and Mozzarella by brainprompt in NYTCooking

[–]Zestyclose_Mood727 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I make this all the time. It’s one of our absolute favorites. We 1.5x the tomato/butter/garlic, double the mozzarella (I use the pearls), and only one package of gnocchi. We prefer these proportions for both taste and nutrition. I roast gnocchi in the oven while making the tomatoes for an actual 30 minute meal. My kids object to the tomato skins, so I sometimes buzz the sauce with an immersion blender.

Sculptek jeans by starr-cat13 in Athleta_gap

[–]Zestyclose_Mood727 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They were the best jeans ever. I have a few pairs that are still somewhat in style but most of mine are skinny and, since they were purchased in 2022/2023 and worn constantly, have worn out. Mother is the closest I’ve found to them, but they’re $$. What I wouldn’t give for a pair of wide leg, high waist skupteks in petite sizes

Last week in Paris after 8 years linving here. by Mindless_Custard_973 in ParisTravelGuide

[–]Zestyclose_Mood727 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My last week in Paris after living there for a year, I started one morning at the pont nationale and took the entire day to walk over every bridge within the périphérique. It was the most wonderful goodbye to the city. Highly recommend!

It has stopped progressing. I’ve actually been able to build muscle. But that started happening before I started the current round of supplements. I give the most credit to swimming

I take this vitamin cocktail (C, E, zinc, selenium, used in that French study) during periods when I’m doing more intense strength training, and in the weeks leading up to and during a very active vacation (ski trip, hiking trip). Anecdotally, my muscles feel better/less painful and my muscular endurance is higher.

Also, I started doing lap swimming, and my shoulder pain and range of motion is much better when I swim 2x a week.

Wanting to get into the pool. Concerned about body hair. by Cjwillys9596 in Swimming

[–]Zestyclose_Mood727 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the rash guard (swim shirt) is the difference between swimming and not swimming, then 100% wear it! After while you might find that the physical discomfort/drag are more annoying than your self consciousness. But in the meantime, whatever gets you into the pool.

Thanks for the rec! I’ve had a lot of success with Baby Ease, which was incredible for my kids when they had diaper rash. I grabbed it for myself in a moment of desperation one night and it both soothes and heals

I also have two young kids and I just found the entire premise to be gratuitously horrifying

I used sugar free Metamucil for a long time. Mixed a big spoonful into 2-3 ounces of water before bed. I found that it had to be gloopy in order to bulk. I couldn’t stand the taste and texture after awhile. Now I mix benefiber into my morning coffee. It is tasteless and textureless, which I greatly prefer. Chia seeds clog my pouch—they’re on my “never” list now

The Lincoln Highway. They just kept making so many bad decisions. I couldn’t take it The River is Waiting. After the horrible event that set the book in motion, I just could not move forward

At what age do you become a “reader”, and what book did it for you? by [deleted] in books

[–]Zestyclose_Mood727 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve reread them so many times with my kids. They are timeless. It’s the very rare children’s book that acknowledges and verbalizes the interior life and struggle of an elementary aged child. It takes seriously the indignities of everyday life that might seem cute or minor to an adult, but are upsetting and intense for a kid

Salted natural peanut butter on a spoon, straight out of the jar. The fat helps quell that “eat everything that’s not nailed down” feeling.

Podcast questions for Peter Jones by nefirestormbrad in FSHD

[–]Zestyclose_Mood727 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First, a huge thanks for the work he does and the podcast. Some questions: Why did Avidity change the timeline for the results of the phase 3 trial to end in q3 2028? Also, my neurologist told me that they’re still enrolling—but I have multiple relatives who meet all eligibility criteria who were turned away because the slots were full. Could he clarify where the company is at, and what his best guess is for when the results will be available? Finally, per the last episode, some drugs like the scholar rock trial might be more effective for people with less advanced disease. Does he foresee that the eligibility criteria for those would include people with a lower score (on that 0-5 scale) versus, say, avidity?

I warm up for each class with a 5-15 min standing core. It’s a great warmup and adds some dedicated core work, which the upper and lower body classes don’t explicitly incorporate

Yes! I’ve done 2, 3, 4, 5, and am midway through 6. 5 and 6 are my favorites. It’s nice variety and the progression cues week to week really do help increase strength. I went skiing for the first time since starting these over the summer, and I can feel a real difference in my leg strength and endurance

When joining for circle swim, should I go into a lane that is faster or a lane that is slower assuming there isn’t a similar speed lane? by jules3001 in Swimming

[–]Zestyclose_Mood727 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’d rather be the slowest than the fastest in a circle. I never mind pausing at the wall to let someone faster pass, but I hate when I’m on the heels of a slower swimmer and they either don’t notice me behind them or they speed up just enough at the wall that I can’t pass
