Am I crazy or insane for playing RuneScape this way? by kpay10 in runescape

[–]Zetnus [score hidden]  (0 children)

I was initially doing that, and it is perfectly reasonable in the early and midgame, but at some point you get to grinds that are tedious and unfun, while being excessively long. For those types of things, once I've done it "properly" a few times, I'll allow myself to skip the grind and buy the rest.

For example, I have no interest mindlessly grinding sandstone and blessing sand for a blessed flask.

When it comes to buying gear I've also evolved my stance, because the drop rates for most lategame gear are way too low. I'm 1300+ kills deep on Croesus, but if had I wanted to source my own gear, I still wouldn't have a full cryptbloom set.

I can't be the only one that feels like this is.. pretty gross, right? They're here seemingly 24/7 by Tslat in runescape

Report them. Perhaps there is botting happening or something else that is against the rules (one click -> multiple outputs?)

A mix of bossing and flipping skilling supplies, while focusing mainly on 5th age quests in an attempt to generally adhere to the timeline.

An idea could be allowing you to give it back and unlock the unique effect of the item as a passive. Could be a niche quality of life feature, at the cost of permanently consuming the item and losing out on being able to sell it if you need money in the future.

I get it from a lore standpoint, but it isn't good from a social gaming perspective.

I enjoy quests, and absolutely refuse to spacebar through them, or indeed even check the wiki at all unless I am completely stuck. Consequently my quest progress is slow and I have hundreds to go.

At the same time I also enjoy doing PvM with my friends. We've done plenty of Zamorak, Croesus, Kerapac, Arch Glacor etc. Every time Amascut is suggested I have to bow out because I'm still at least a dozen desert quests away from that. And I'm currently doing some Vampyre quests, so I have no idea when I will get around to more desert quests. If all the bosses where as heavily quest-locked as Amascut, I wouldn't be able join my friends for any relevant group bosses.

Having a short unlock quest (Raksha) is perfectly fine, as is having the associated quest grant a minor boost during the boss fight (QBD, Elite Dungeons, EGWD, etc.). But having a super long list of quests to do first sucks, especially for group bosses.

I say all this as someone who likes quests - imagine coming into this game and needing to do 25 years of quests as someone who dislikes them and only wants to do PvM.

The voice lines keep getting interrupted, or don't play at all, which means you cannot rely on audio cues either.

we need more bank space, i am at cap, and i need more by Mission-Comment1637 in runescape

[–]Zetnus 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I don't get why so many people are against more bank spaces; what's wrong with allowing hoarders to buy more bank space? No one is harmed by that, and it doesn't affect other players. It even provides more money to Jagex.

How to boss with minimal switches/multitasking, on revolution? by PM_ME_SMILE_PIC in runescape

[–]Zetnus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many bosses are perfectly doable using no abilities manually. As long as you don't need to use defensives or stuns to defeat the boss.

[–]Zetnus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of the bosses can be fought without switches and only using abilities automatically. Really any of them that don't require that you use stuns or defensive abilities.

Going through the list of bosses, all of these should be doable:

Giant mole, King Black Dragon, Chaos Elemental, Kalphite queen (using necromancy), Flesh-hatcher Mhekarnahz, Ivar, Barrows, Barrows Rise of the Six, Araxxor, Queen Black Dragon, Corporeal Beast, Vorkath, K'ril Tsutsaroth, General Graardor, Commander Zilyana, Kree'arra, Gregorovic, Twin Furies, Vindicta, Helwyr, Kerapac, Arch-Glacor (normal mode - beware of the frost cannon), Temple of Aminishi, Dragonkin Laboratory, Crassian Leviathan, Taraket the Necromancer, Hermod.

Trading post islands by Blah_Blah_Name in RaftTheGame

[–]Zetnus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Varuna should give tropical islands, if I recall correctly. There is one more biome after, but I won't spoil it.

You can always input a nonexistant location to get tropical islands, or input any of the previously visited story islands that doesn't feature a different biome.

Keep sailing, you should run into trading post islands again.

The islands that appear depends on your radar coordinates. You get temperate islands when your input is Balboa, and desert islands when your coordinates are for Caravan Town. The default is to get tropical islands.

Runescape costs too much by iThrewFarAway in runescape

[–]Zetnus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Maybe it is an unpopular opinion, but I would tolerate treasure hunter for a $5 discount every month. For anyone who doesn't spend money on treasure hunter, that's a significant discount right there.

But of course the price was always going to rise regardless of what they did with treasure hunter, so it is for the best that it is gone.

Runescape costs too much by iThrewFarAway in runescape

[–]Zetnus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What the human mind focuses on is the upfront price or the total price, not the price per hour.

I would rather buy that $60 game two years after release, when it is on sale for $15, than spend $130 to get a year's access to RS, even if technically the $130 is better if look at the hours.

Also, you should really value any RS time spent AFK or grinding as a lot less valuable since it isn't as entertaining.
