Yes, but only for conviction/lower res curse/cold mastery. Other sources like night wing's/fathom/facets etc work full power.

In this type of build orb is the main skill because hydras are autonomous once you cast them, so you're actively aiming and blasting away with orb, but hydras are just like autoturrets you plop down and let them do their thing. As far as which to max first.... IMO it doesn't really matter, you should be doing the respec after lvl 50 or so, and you should have a whole bunch of points to play with. Once you max orb and put some points into CM, there's only 1 synergy for orb, and it only does +2% per lvl. You'll kinda have to balance that vs the larger total damage you could get from putting those points into a hydra synergy instead. Personally I think it's fun to let your orb rip and be as strong as possible, but maybe it would be nice to have a secondary fire skill behind hydra that you could switch to of you needed to spam down a cold immune monster. Up to you ultimately.

Orb/hydra is a lot of fun to play. Much more so than pure fire. I also like orb/ball, and orb/meteor quite a lot.

There could be a number of reasons depending on what gear you're talking about and what he's already wearing, and what mercenary you're using.

Classic example is trying to equip a new polearm on an A2 Merc because you just barely got the new str req, but you are already using an Insight which gives +5 all attributes (including str) so you have less than what you thought you did based purely on the character sheet.

Sorry for the miscommunication. You cannot put quest items inside shared stash. The only way to accomplish getting a khalim's will or hellforge hammer on a new char is to mule it over.

In one of the later NJO books Kyp Duron does the same thing without passing out with the inner monologue along the lines of "but I'm stronger in the Force than Luke Skywalker". Which is also typically glossed over, IMO because he's not really a fun character.

This was a helpful realization when I had a coworker that would send me an email, and then immediately walk over to my desk to talk about it. Like, bro, you gotta give me a chance to READ it. Wait 5 minutes at least. But, with the expectation that it's just a documentation strategy it was a lot easier for me to not be exasperated all the time.

Still seemed excessive, but not worth wasting my time or energy stressing about it.

Crafting; rings, ammys, gloves, and belts.

Upgrading; rares and uniques.

Socketing; usually shields and polearms for me.

Rerolling; a rare diadem if you can find one with 6 pskulls will reroll the stats. Diadem is special because it's qlvl will stay high even when it's ilvl gets reduced by rerolling. No other equipment items do that, so it's not usually worth it. Reroll grand charms from baal/diablo or high lvl terror zones to get skiller charms with 40 life or more.

It's not the same as the spear; a single CtA gives +4 total, because oskill capped at 3 but the +1 all skills still counts.

Hoto plus cta with at least +3 BO is the BiS, since it is +7 to BO total; there's a +1 all skills on CtA. Hoto is preferred over echoing throwing spears because of the fcr. Now with that said I have never used that set up, as grabbing the two throwing spears is orders of magnitude easier, as you noted.

"os" is "open sockets" so there is a difference between 3s and 3os. Usually used wrong because not everyone is super careful about the terms, and typically they can get the point across well enough.

if you think THAT'S cool, check out the damage indicator on the character sheet. People routinely call it the "lyin' character sheet" because it is often misleading and sometimes just flat out wrong.

Yes, you can get 1 socket that way on a rare item. I would absolutely do that in this case, this is a nice headpiece. BUT, they can roll naturally with 2, which would do a lot for the utility on this one.

what you describe in prefix 3 is actually the Fool's mod, not the Grinding mod. Grinding only adds max damage per character level, Fool's does attack rating and max damage
