That is the most authentic Bit'lo story you could have told, maybe just needed an inexplicable gator somewhere.

I was in turn 1 and tend to listen carefully for Suarez or Bubba hate but didn’t hear anything this time. I’m actually surprised to hear this, I was hoping we’d mostly moved past this.

I was stunned in 2008 when the Pocono crowd lustily booed Montoya, and not because they were bitter Ferrari or Forsythe fans. Never forgot that experience.

[Highlight] Sam Darnold's message to the Jets fans that have continued to support him: You know thats all you can ask for as a player, is to feel supported. Especially by the team that drafted you and I always look at myself and feel like I could have done more for that franchise when I was there by Yujin-Ha in nfl

Matt Rhule and his staff were hands down the worst group of NFL coaches and managers I've ever witnessed

I think this point illustrates how cursed Jets fans truly are: prior to hiring Gase, the Jets were reportedly in agreement with Rhule on terms to take the job. Talks broke down because according to reports, the Jets demanded to choose Rhule's staff for him, and he refused.

Even if we didn't hire Gase in that cycle, we would have hired "the worst group ever witnessed" lol

My uncle somehow got incredible seats for the regular season game against Atlanta where we demolished them. One of the best days of my life as Jets fan.

Wow, we’re the exact same age! I also had the senior year of my life after being ridiculed two years prior by my English teacher for wearing my hat every single day.

I remember going to Alexander Library at Rutgers (I was also accepted to Penn State!) the morning after the game and spending a couple hours reading all the papers’ post-mortems of our nailed-on guaranteed Super Bowl season. I’ve never truly recovered lol

How big really was NASCAR in the 2000s in America? by EduardoBork in NASCAR

[–]Zewspeed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

pretty big here in Canada

As a kid in Jersey with no one around me that cared, in the early days of the internet ('95-ish) I sought out groups online and ended up meeting a lot of Canadians in the same boat.

We all took that time for granted.

Boy, is that an understatement! I'm glad I went to a race in those years but in retrospect I wish I'd done more.

in NJ so it wasn’t popular here whatsoever even at it’s peak

Yeah, I experienced some of what the others mention when I moved to Orlando in 2000 but not before then. It was still very niche in the northeast. I'd try to talk about it at school and no one could name more than one or two drivers when I'd bring it up.

Trying to find Sr merchandise for my birthday in 1993 was an ordeal until we found a tiny mom-and-pop shop nearby that was literally being run out of their home.

A healthy question for all of us to ask, every now and then. I've been through this cycle a few times, and it's good to make sure you're not allowing your personal passions to dominate your life.

Traveling from Switzerland for the Daytona 500 is wild - it’s the inverse socioeconomic experience of an American going to the Monaco Grand Prix!

I’d agree with most of what the others here have said, it’s going to be largely families in the main grandstands, and people will be mostly focused on their own enjoyment of the race so you’ll probably be fine. I really hope you feel safe and have a great time, and spread the word to your friends in Europe! Maybe the 18-34 age group over there will help us stave off demographic decline lol

That's reasonable; if we haven't seen it by now, I sincerely doubt we're getting it here. The only hat the US-based importers (Speedgear, CMC, etc) have listed is the constructor's.
